Family

There are different family structures, that is, nuclear, extended and blended. The nuclear household
consist only two generations, parents and children . Extended families are multi-generational and
they mainly include children, parents and grandparents.Blended households are the result of divorce
or death and remarriage.Some people do not remarry but stay alone with the children in a single-
parent family.

I live in a single-parent family with my mother.My parents divorced 5 years ago, however,
my father remarried and he and his wife live in Dömös..My borther, my mother and I live in a flat in
Esztergom.I visit my dad's house on every second weekend.

Unfortunattely, i only have an opportunity to meet my father's mother so she is my only

grandmother.My father's father and my mother's parents died before I was born, so I couldn't meet
them.However, due to the fact that my father has a new wife and her parents are still alive I look at
her parents as my grandparents.I have a great relationship with them, we often visit them on the
holidays.

My mother has a sister, who lives in Esztergom with her family so we meet often.They have a child
called Ricsi, and I have to be honest, he is my favourite cousin.He is 3 years younger than me, so we
have a very good relationship.My father has two siblings, and they both live in Budapest with their
families.His sister has two little girls and his brother has a girl too.Unfortunattely, we can’t visit them
very often because of the big distance.

I have a great relationship with most of my relatives.I'm very close to my brother, we laugh a
lot and we always have a great time together.I get on well with my cousins too, but most of them is
much younger than me, so i can't really talk with them how I can with my brother.I believe my
mother and I have an amazing relationship.We are really close, we often sit down and just talk, share
our thougts with each other and this is so important for me.My father on the other side, is more
problematic.We often argue and we sometimes don't talk for a few hours, because he is pretty light
headed and can say mean things.But when he is in a good mood, we talk and laugh a lot because he
is very funny.His wife is really kind and I'm close to her aswell.I can talk about anything with her and
i'm grateful for this.

If we are looking at who I take after more between my parents, it is hard to decide.On the
looks, I look more like my father. We have the same nose and lips, we are both sporty however his
eyes are blue and mine are hazel.On the inside, I'm almost totally like my mother.She is very kind
and helpful, and I believe I'm the same, or atleast I try to be.
