School

I go to Árpád-Házi Saint Elizabeth Grammar school Specialized English class.I’m in year nine.

I usually go to school by bus if the weather is cold.But in the hotter seasons like spring or
summer, or even the start of autumm, I go on foot.If I take the bus, it takes 10 minutes for me to get
to school and if I walk, then it takes proximately 20 minutes. I prefer going to school by walking,
because it is more interesting to look at the town in the morning, than sitting in the traffic jam even
at the start of my day.Also, walking is refreshing and relaxing for me, so if I’m nervous in the morning
because of a test I am going to write, the a 20 minute walk can help me to calm down.

My timetable is quite different than normal student’s due to the fact that I go to a
Specialized English class.This means that I have 18 English classes a week. I have seven classes every
day, and atleast three of them is some kind of an English. English is split up into three different
classes.There are the Lexica, grammar and culture classes.I have 9 classes from lexica in a week, 5
classes from grammar and 4 from culture.What is more, I also have PE class, Hungarian grammar,
Dance,religious class geography, ICT and maths.My favourite subject is English, even tho I had a lot
of classes this year, I couldn’t get bored of it. I see my goals infront of me, so I do everything I can to
reach them.The subject I hate the most is mathematics.I was never good at it, i never understood it
and I always had a hard time getting good grades from it.

As I have mentioned before, I’m in year nine which means that I got a new class at the start
of this year.There are 39 kids in our class.This is a very big number for a class full of children, so the
teachers have a difficult time teaching all of us. I believe I have a great relationship with most of my
classmates, there are some people who I don’t talk to regulary, not because I don’t like them, simply
because of the differences in our interests.

If we are looking at after school activities, I can say that our school has a great number of
them.There are sport classes for instance, volleyball, basketball, badminton , dance and even chess if
we count that as a sport.Also, there are music classes like choir or some people even learn how to
play an ukulele.We have a large selection of activities we can choose from, so I think everyone can
find something they like.

The school canteen is an interesting topic for me even after the six years I have spent in this
school.There were times when I didn’t eat in the canteen, just went home and had lunch
there.However there were a few years when I ate in the school every day.Now, considring the
quality of the food, I find it very expensive.Most of the students don’t even finish their meal if it
doesn’t taste good, which happens often in the school canteen.This year, i decided to not eat in the
school, because I think it is a big waste of money due to the fact that I know I won’t eat it.
