Poppy Crochet Skull Doll Día de Muertos
Thank you very much for buying a copy of this pattern. I wish you a pleasant time
while working on it. I would recommend this pattern for intermediate crochet skills
but don`t hold yourself back if you are a beginner. It contains only basic stitch types .

• The pattern is written with American Standard Terms/Abbreviations
• The size of the doll is going to be around 30 cm tall by using the given tools and
materials
Abbreviations
mr -- magic ring
(2) - number of rows
st(s) -- stitch(es) (2) - picture available
slst -- slip stitch
ch -- chain
sc -- single crochet
hdc -- half double crochet
dc -- double crochet
tc -- treble crochet
inc --2 single crochet
in one stitch
inv-sc2tog -- invisible decrease

BLO -- back loop only

This will be a tubelike shape, that needs to be inserted into the neck after the
head is filled and most of the body part is already done
Must be filled very firmly- seeing the filling is not an issue at this point, it is a
must :) - if it is done as written it will prevent the head from tilting back-
ward
Insert it into the neck when the instruction says - - approximately half of it
goes into the head and half of it stays in the body

Use 1.75 mm hook and blue/red/orange perle thread
Red (5 pieces), Blue (8 pieces)
Row 1 : 6 sc into mr (6)
Row 2 : ch 5, 1 dc, [ ch2 , 1 dc ]* 5, ch 2, sl st into
the 3rd chain of first five chains.
Row 3 : [ 5dc into chain space, sl st]* 7
Orange (7 pieces)
Row 1 : 6 sc into mr (6)
Row 2 : [ 3dc into 1 stitch, slst ]* 6
Sew them evenly between the orange ruffle and light blue edging.
Chain 48 (1) ,
Row 1 : dc into 3rd chain from hook, chain 2, dc in-
to the same chain ( than the previous dc was
made). [you got your first “V” shape] (2) (1)
Skip 2 chains, 1dc into 3rd chain from hook,
chain 2, dc into the same chain ( than the previous
dc was made). Repeat it till the end.
Row 2 : chain 2(count as a dc), turn, do 8 dc into
the upper part of the “V” shape, 1 sl st into the
stitch that connects the “V” shapes ,
9 dc into the upper part of the “V” shape, 1 sl st (2)
that connects the “V” shapes. Repeat it till the end. (3)

Into the last chain work 4 sc. Now we are going to use
the other side of the chains. 8 sc then 4 sc into the fol-

Nose
Use the black colour yarn.
Arms to body
Arms go between 4th and 5th row from the col-
our change.
Legs to body
Leg: Pull through the yarn between the 3rd and 4th row from the
ending (1,2)
From the bottom of the body count back 6 rows and sew the legs
between the 6th and 7th row. Do it tightly. (3,4)
