Prep for this activity is fast and easy. Just print out the sheet with the planet names and cut the pieces
apart. I used my paper slicer to make prep even quicker. Then use tape to hang the cards around the
room. I like to keep them in areas that are around eye level so they are easily visible for little ones. I
also recommend placing them on different areas to keep it more exciting like cubbies, walls, backs of
chairs, on the white board, desks, etc. You can add – Why are you exploring the planet? What
equipment do you have? Who is with you? How did you get there? How is the planet different from
earth? PDF, 387.8 KB PDF, 546.01 KB The prompt on sheet 3 is – You are an explorer on a new

Classroom Strategies This unit — with built in creativity, collaboration, communication, critical
thinking, and a dystopian twist — will engage your students as they plot to build a species of space
aliens, develop an entire planet, create origin myths, develop a legendary hero, plan out their battle
strategies and declare the impending war. “If I was an astronaut I would go to visit Jupiter for a
whole year.” Could you please tell me where I can find the documents you used for your space
writing? (A New Discovery, If I Were an Astronaut, and Amazing Astronauts). I really love this unit.
It is so detailed and organized. I like how the project is broken up into smaller chunks and how the
daily writing prompts require independent thinking before they collaborate with their groups.

for himself”, or so he says. You don’t seem to believe his claims, though. It’s a hot summer’s night,
