Title: Go Back to Nature and Heal Yourself.
We studied the unit Go Back to Nature and Heal Yourself. The global context is
Orientation in Space and time. The key concept is perspective. The statement of inquiry is
“Critical readers understand that historical context and authors’ perspectives affect
readers’ interpretation of the literary text and the concept of truth.”
You are given the opportunity to demonstrate conceptual understanding of the statement of inquiry
while completing this class exam. You will demonstrate such ATL skills as thinking and
communication skills, and the IB learner profiles: knowledgeable, thinkers and inquirers.

Task 1:
Select one of the following topics. Use your knowledge of narrative essays to write on your selected
topic.
1. Narrate your favourite vacation with your family
2. Your first day at a new school
3. The best birthday party you’ve ever had
4. A story of you helping people in need
5. A life lesson you have learned

Task 2:
Write a narrative essay on a topic of your choice. You may select a topic from the list above.

Instructions

1. Your essays should be typed in MS Word; font type: Times New Roman; font size: 12; and
1.5 line spacing.
2. Your essay should have a minimum of 250 words.
3. Your essays should have a clear and interesting title.
4. Write 5 paragraphs or more: an introductory paragraph, a body consisting of 3 or more
paragraphs and a concluding paragraph.
5. Include features of a narrative essay such as dialogue, sensory details about time, place and
people involved, and transition words.
