PRACTICUM WEEK 2 : 28 March to 1 April 2022
TITLE : INCREASING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF HOMEWORK BY USE INTERACTIVE
WORKSHEET IN ONLINE CLASS ( PDPR)
1. Focus Issue

I teach class 2 UM for English subject via online class(PDPR) . From my finding shows
that student is not interested to do their homework in traditional way which I ask
them to copy the question from online medium such as telegram to their exercise
book and capture the work that they finish. After that they must do their submission
by the time given.

2. Issue analysis

The reason that student not interested to do their assignment is because I use
traditional way to give them the homework. This way makes them bored and not
have motivation to do their homework. The homework is also not effective because
they can not do it within the time given. As a result the assessment of the
homework is out of time, redundant and we can’t track their progress. Its will leads
to the poor understanding of the lesson.

3. Literature Review

Schrat Carr says that Increasing the effectiveness of homework is a multifaceted


goal. Accommodations, organization, structure of assignments, technology, home–
school communication, and students’ home life all influence the effectiveness of
homework.

(Paula Magalhaes, 2019) In recent years, a strong investment has been made to
equip schools with technology for educational purposes, leading to some
transformations in teachers' practices. In this context, apart from traditional format,
there are online platforms available for teachers to assign and monitor homework
completed by students.

4. Suggestion and Problem Solving

From my analysis , I have come out this suggestion


a) Create online quiz-based homework with scoring
b) Give interactive online task worksheet

8. Result / effectiveness

From the intervention from traditional way to interactive way its shows that more
than 95% student do their homework on time. It’s also increase scoring. They also
feel motivated in class.

9. Conclusion / Reflection

I feel happy with this interactive way because my student is motivated to submit
their homework and its help me to take fast action overcome any issue with the
topic learned. It’s also increased their engagement with teachers. After 2 weeks of
intervention, they showed improvement and active in online class.
