FIELD STUDY 2 Learning Episode 8 (Establishing My Own

Classroom Routines and Procedures in a Face-to-Face /

Remote Learning)

PARTICIPATE AND ASSIST

To ensure that I can carry out perform my task efficiently and effectively in participating
and assisting my cooperating teacher in establishing routines and procedures in
the classroom or in remote learning, I must be guided by the following questions:
1. How will I gain student attention in the classroom /remote learning?
2. What are the routines and procedures that I need to establish before, during and after
my classes whether on a face-to-face or remote learning?
3. What verbal and non-verbal communication will I use to signal that students need
help/attention in the classroom / remote learning?
4. How must students get/secure the needed work materials and books and others in
the classroom / remote learning?
5. How will students transition to group work and other cooperative activities in the
classroom / remote learning?
6. What procedures must be followed by students who need to attend to personal
necessities in the classroom/online classes?
7. What rules must be set for students who finish task early/ and for those who cannot
complete work on time?
8. What procedures must be observed for tardiness / early dismissals?
9. What procedures must be done when submitting homework/ performance tasks in the
classroom / remote learning?
10. What procedures must be employed in movements into and out of the
classroom/remote learning?
Having these guide questions in mind, consult your Resource Teacher on the possible
assistance or participation that you can do to help her/him in doing the
classroom routines. Complete the matrix for the routines that you can employ before,
during and after classes in the classroom/remote learning to ensure order and discipline
in your classes. List down the problems which you have encountered while
implementing these routines.
Our cooperating teacher gives us the chance to talk with her about any potential
help or involvement we might provide to help her with the online class routines.
She wants that we create both the lesson plan and the PowerPoint presentation.
We were able to help her lessen her load as a consequence.
Issues arising during the execution of the routine
1. Some students leave class in the middle of a discussion because they do not
have enough MB in their data.
2. Despite the scheduled time, there are still a lot of students that are late for
class.
3. The pupil cannot comprehend basic directions like turning off the microphone
when someone is speaking.
4. Due to the internet signal, it is impossible for the students to read aloud
together.
5. Students who are requested to read the phrases are being coached by their
parents.

NOTICE
After doing your classroom routines and formulating your procedures, state what you
noticed by answering the following questions:
1. How did you feel after employing your classroom routines and establishing
your procedures in the classroom / remote learning?
I was glad to see that the class flow is reasonably orderly and seamless,
despite the fact that certain pupils are overly boisterous. The involvement
and engrossment of the students prevents them from turning off their mics.

2. How did your students respond to your classroom routines and procedures?
Because they were engaged in the routines and processes, the students in
an online class exhibited good conduct.
3. What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom
routines and procedures?
Our resource teacher gave us advice on how to enhance and continue
more of the routines in the classroom. In addition, she was happy that we
had completed the work.

4. Was there a change in the classroom environment / teaching-learning process

after you have implemented your classroom routines and procedures?
The installation of classroom procedures has caused a shift in the learning
environment; the class flow is now slightly smoother, and I have seen that
there is now connection with the students.

ANALYZE
1. What factors/ conditions prompted you to establish those classroom
routines and procedures?
One of the things that made me want to do something was the learners'
lack of connection. As we spend the next 10 days with them, I want to
deepen our connection and friendship.

2. Was there a marked improvement in classroom management after

employing your classroom routines?
The administration of the classroom has significantly improved, and as the
lesson goes on, everything gets more structured and the kids get more
engaged.

REFLECT
What insights have you gained while doing this learning episode?
Juen -
My Resource Teacher's comments on classroom procedures provided me with
the understandings I acquired during this learning event. It is to keep enhancing
additional classroom procedures since it will be useful practice for my future. It
also offers me a broad concept of how to connect with my kids while I carry out
the established routines and processes. I also picked up several methods for
grabbing pupils' attention both in person and online.

Earl –
The understanding that I gained during this episode, which is also based on the
feedback from my Resource Teacher while I execute my routines, is that I should
extend my patience to the fullest. Because students will never listen to your
instructions. Some students develop initiative, while others wait to be told to
move or do anything about the routine that I have established.
Arjay –
My resource teacher's comments on classroom routines provided me with the
knowledge and insight I needed during this learning episode. Its purpose is to
keep improving more classroom routines, as it will be advantageous in the future.
Also, it helps give me a general understanding of how I should interact with my
students while integrating the designed procedures and routines. In addition, I
learned a few strategies for capturing the attention of students in a face-to-face
modality of learning. Giving me feedback on classroom routines allows me to see
myself and the context in which I work to enhance myself and further adopt new
knowledge based on the feedback given to me by my resource teacher. By doing
so, I will integrate it and make my classroom routine more attractive, interactive,
and conducive to learning.

WRITE ACTION RESEARCH PROMPTS

OBSERVE
The problems / challenges I encountered in establishing my classroom routines were
small, but everything happened without a hitch thanks to my collaborating
teacher and the participating pupils.

REFLECT
I hope to achieve to address these problems and challenges by students' ideas
are strengthened and brought to the forefront, and organizing skills are practiced.

PLAN
Some strategies/ways which I can employ to improve my classroom routines are
to integrate entertaining and stimulating exercises to spark the enthusiasm and
fun as our class moves on.
ACT
(Based on my answers in nos. 1-3), the possible title of my action research on
this episode is "Improving student engagement in teacher-led discussions and
classroom activities"

To further enrich my knowledge on establishing classroom routines and procedures,

whether in the classroom or in remote learning, these are some of the online resources
which will help me in these activities. (Include books, websites, you tube videos and the
like and share these to your peers.)

WORK ON MY ARTIFACTS
Take some snapshots of your routines in the classroom or in remote learning and tell
something about them. You may also write down the procedures you have formulated
and explain the reasons for these.
The picture up above shows one of our typical class routines. Ma'am Alaminda
will present the PowerPoint presentation to the kids, which we are currently
creating. As you can see, our cooperating teacher asks that each student read the
material that is shown in the ppt. We make sure to leave a few phrases for
students to read at the conclusion of each slide in our powerpoint presentation.
Before we end class, we make sure that everyone can read. In other words,
reading is something we do every day.
