Students need structure and familiarity as they continue to learn and
develop, and classroom routines and procedures give students a
predictable day. They'll know what to expect each day and feel more
confident and secure in their daily activities. For younger children, a
routine engages them in learning and helps them feel safe in their
environment, while it helps older children know what to expect and
feel more comfortable. This is why classroom routines are important.
Routines in the classroom make class time more enjoyable and
productive. They offer students a sense of stability. By having
classroom rules and procedures that you follow, your students will
know your expectations. Behavioral problems and distractions can
decrease when students understand how to act. Learn more about
these benefits and how to implement a successful classroom routine!
Benefits of Classroom Routines and Procedures
Effective classroom procedures and routines offer many benefits to
students. Students who know how they should act in the classroom
can be more successful because they can learn and achieve more.
Students will spend more time learning instead of getting ready for
class or asking questions about what they should do because you've
streamlined the process for daily tasks. The benefits of classroom
routines and procedures include:
Creates consistency: Your students will learn what to expect when
you're consistent. Routine consistency fosters a positive learning
environment because the same rules apply to everyone so no one can
be discriminated against or favored.
Enhances behavior management: Students will learn your rules and
what you do to enforce them. Enforcing your rules will increase your
students' respect for you and decrease behavioral problems.
According to my observations, the teaching and learning processes improve because students already know what
they will do when class begins. These routines considerably facilitated the smooth flow of conversations while also
effectively engaging students in the teaching and learning process. It directs their attention on the lecture and the
performance. It also allows the teacher to give the lesson without interruptions, and it even minimizes student
misconduct, which impedes the learning process

Based on my learning experiences, I've discovered that establishing classroom routines and procedures is critical to
the teaching and learning process since it allows the teacher to create a distraction-free learning environment and
ensure that conversations run smoothly. It is critical for students to recognize their responsibilities as students and
to be taught self-discipline. As a potential teacher, I must develop and implement specific classroom procedures in
order to provide a conducive learning environment for my students. I need to keep a close eye on my students'
behavior so that at the end of the day, I may correct those who did not do it appropriately. Furthermore, when
presenting these routines and procedures to class, I must ensure that they are understood and apparent to them so
that I can demonstrate how to carry them out. Having a group conversation with my students can help them build
successful routines because they believe their opinions matter in class

3. Involvement of students in making classroom routines.

Some strategies/ways which I can employ to improve my classroom routines are to incorporate fun and
engaging activities to activate the fun and excitement as we progress through our class, give rewards
and praise to those who follow.

Explaining to them the importance of having classroom routines and procedures

Implications of having classroom routines and procedures
Let them be engage in making fun activities for them to stimulate their attention.

Some students do not participate in making or establishing classroom routines and procedures.
We had the chance to discuss any potential help or involvement we can provide to help our cooperating
teacher with the class routines with her. She asks that we create the lesson plan and the PowerPoint
presentation. Consequently, we were able to help her reduce her workload.

Here are some of the problems that I have encountered while implementing these routines.

1. Some students are not taking part in class discussions, notably the recitation.

2. Some kids are struggling to understand/follow the directions.

3. Difficulty in balancing time because some pupils are struggling with the activity.

I'm happy that even with the difficulties and obstacles encountered during the teaching and learning process,
I can still present and carry out my classroom procedures and routines after putting them into practice in the
classroom or through remote learning. I'm happy because I've made progress toward a goal that will be
crucial to my growth as a future teacher. Ultimately, I'm relieved that the procedure and lesson were
completed effectively and efficiently.
My students follow my routines and procedures in the classroom by paying attention to the numerous
activities I have planned for them and repeating back what I say. Most of them participate actively in class
discussions, especially the recitation exercise, which is, in my opinion, a positive aspect of efficient
classroom procedures. The importance of having specific classroom procedures and routines is
acknowledged by the students, and even though some of them disagree, I can see how eager they are to
follow and practice them. But before that, most students said they really wanted a way to get their
questions about the policies and practices in place answered.
My resource teacher feels that I should be doing a better job of complimenting and encouraging engaged
students in class by saying things like "Good job, very good," which will boost their confidence. She also
mentioned that, based on some of my classroom procedures and routines, it is essential that the activities
be interesting and captivating for the students. She concluded by saying that procedures and routines need
to be connected to the material you are teaching in order for students to understand them and show interest
in them.
Judging from my observations, there's a change happening in the classroom. Students are actively
participating in the class now that I've set up my routines and procedures, and even those who don't
usually participate are making an effort to participate in the teaching and learning process. There is
constant conversation in the class, and there is less needless misbehavior.

The students' disobedience in class, their interest in the class discussion, and even the classroom's
orderliness inspired me to implement those classroom rules and procedures. It motivates me to maintain
my classroom distraction-free so that I can have a smooth flow of talks and the students can focus on
their work

I believe there has been an improvement after introducing my classroom routines. Changes in student
participation indicate a considerable improvement in classroom management. They are now more
interested, about taking part in the oral recitation activity. I noticed a difference in students who normally
behave badly in class because they are seeking to participate in engaging and enjoyable activities
