Establishing My Own
Classroom Routines and
Procedures in a
Face-to-face/Remote Learning
PARTICIPATE AND ASSIST

To ensure that I can carry out perform my tasks efficiently and effectively in
participating and assisting my cooperating teacher in establishing routines and procedures,
in the classroom or in remote learning, I must be guided by the following questions:

1. How will I gain student attention in the classroom /remote learning?

2. What are the routines and procedures that I need to establish before, during and
after my classes whether on a face-to-face or remote learning?

3. What verbal and non-verbal communication will I use to signal that students need
help attention in the classroom / remote learning?

4. How must students get secure the needed work materials and books and others in
the classroom / remote learning?

5. How will students transition to group work and other cooperative activities in the
classroom/remote learning?

6. What procedures must be followed by students who need to attend to personal


necessities in the classroom/online classes?

7. What rules must be set for students who finish task early/ and for those who cannot
complete work on time?

8. What procedures must be observed for tardiness / early dismissals?

9. What procedures must be done when submitting homework / performance tasks in


the classroom / remote learning?

10. What procedures must be employed in movements into and out of the
classroom/remote learning?
Having these guide questions in mind, consult your Resource Teacher on the
possible. assistance or participation that you can do to help her/him in doing the classroom
routines. Complete the matrix for the routines that you can employ before, during and
after classes in the classroom/remote learning to ensure order and discipline in your
classes. List down the problems which you have encountered while implementing these
routines.

📃The major problem for today is the pandemic we we're encountering. By this, new normal was
implemented. We started to have virtual classes stopping teachers to observe them physically and
be able to see them f2f. It hinders educators to see whether the rules has been followed or the
activities has been done with full of honesty. Also, it hinders teachers execute their teaching
skills inside the classroom. Moreover, educators find it hard to employ the different skills they've
learned for the improvement of students.

After doing your classroom routines and formulating your procedures, state what

 How did you feel after employing your classroom routines and establishing your
procedures in the classroom / remote learning?
☑️I felt like a real teacher being able to set routines and procedures on my own.
 How did your students respond to your classroom routines and procedures?
☑️They agree and respond to it respectively. They agree to take full responsibility on
the consequences of their actions. Mostly, they were aware and knowledgeable of the
routines implementated.
 What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom routines and
procedures?
☑️It needs improvement and creativity.
 Was there a change in the classroom environment teaching-learning process after
you have implemented your classroom routines and procedures?
☑️Personally, I dont think so. It was just the idea that they felt attentive and focus
after all the changes.
 What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom routines and
procedures?
☑️Needs improvement and creativity.
ANALYZE

1. What factors/conditions prompted you to establish those classroom routines and


procedures?
📝It was established to bring a conducive learning environment for students. It would help
them have a productive learning with peaceful learning space with the proper order of
their time. More than that, it would help learners improve their learning process and
spread positivity within the classroom.
2. Was there a marked improvement in classroom management after employing your
classroom routines?
Yes. There were some improvement like having order and proper management of time.
Time were used efficiently and effectively for students and the teacher became aware
of their responsibilities
within the classroom.
3. Did the teaching-learning process improve? Justify your answer.
Yes. As those routines were employed everyday, students mind are set with those processes
and procedures helping them improve and stay productive. They were reminded of
those responsibilities encouraging them to do it properly, resulting the teaching
and learning processes improve each day.

REFLECT

What insights have you gained while doing this learning episode?
📝In this episode I learned routines and procedures that enables the smooth flow of
discussion. It allows me to learn the effect it could bring to the teaching and learning
process inside the classroom.

OBSERVE
The problems/challenges I encountered in establishing my classroom routines.
📝Knowing the idea that we're in pandemic, I wasn't able to see them physically but
routines and procedures were still set to keep them aware or accountable. With that
ACT mentioned, I encountered difficulty in managing the class discussions due to Internet
interconnectivity since not all areas have access to Internet. The students time, availability
and health should always be considered making my life way harder. For thay reason,
establishing routines was not a failure but a hard challenge for me to cope with.
I hope to achieve to address these problems and challenges by talking it out with my
students and speak out our expectations with each others to obtain a successful teaching
and learning processes. With today's episode, I realized the significance of classroom
routines and how it affects students. I learned that it helped to run the teaching and
learning process smoothly which coukd contribute to the improvement of students
performance and the Teaching practice.

REFLECT
Some strategies/ways which I can employ to improve my classroom routines are
☑️Opening the expectations between teachers and students to understand each others point
of views.
☑️Employing enticement to encourage them and rewards to help them strive harder.
☑️Making the time not to be wasted by making routines engaging and fun.
☑️Set an agreement about the rules and policies that has clear boundaries to help students
practice discipline.
☑️Design the classrooms with engaging, attractive displays conducive to learning to engage
learners and be productive.

 (Based on my answers in nos. 1-3), the possible title of my action research on this episode 
📝Improving classroom routines with the selected least performing students in Ordovilla
Elementary School.

To further enrich my knowledge on establishing classroom routines and procedures,


whether in the classroom or in remote learning, these are some of the online resources
