8. HEALTH
The school infirmary is available for emergencies, injuries, and ailment that
arise while the child is at school. The purpose of the infirmary is to offer
students prompt attention, with a means to evaluate the situation, determine
if the patient will need monitoring or supervision or if he/she should be
transported to a specialized medical facility, and to inform the parents of an
emergency.
As a rule, the infirmary will not issue any medication to a student unless the
Emergency Form for a current school year has been completed.
- Infirmary hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday
from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Infirmary Visits:
o G3 – G10 students must have a pass to go to the infirmary.
o Early Years and G2 must be accompanied by a teacher.

At this time, the doctor or nurse will determine if the student can go back to
class based on the degree of symptoms the student presents. If it is
determined that the student is not well enough to remain at school and
should be taken to a hospital or his/her home, the parents will be alerted
immediately by the nurse.
8.2.1. Accidents
If a student suffers an injury while at school, he/she will be attended by health
staff. In the case that the student requests to be taken to a nearby hospital,
the parents will be contacted immediately.
Follow the protocols marked by the nursing staff: they must follow up on the
case and notify the parents according to protocol.
The following are a few situations that warrant watching and possibly calling
your health care provider:
