VICTORIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
I. Executive Summary
It is with great pride and pleasure to nominate our School ELLN Implementer
(K-3 School Coordinator Mrs. Eloisa H. Tumbokon) for consideration of Excellence in
strengthening our school reading program through the implementation of the Early
Language Literacy and Numeracy Program. As she takes it upon herself to provide
exceptional support and services for our Kinder to Grade 3 teachers on the knowledge
and pedagogical skills and in establishing and managing a school-based
mentoring/learning partnership programs as a mechanism for continuous professional
development of teachers, that gave birth for the best storytellers through the school-based
Learning Action Cell.
Ma’am Eloisa as our ELLN coordinator show how she embodies the organization
values and behaviors. She shares how effective teamwork makes a difference. She notices
when the team needs a boost and acts upon it with her unstinting enthusiasm. She always
does her best to ensure task are seen through to the end.
Highly professional, make suggestions for improvement. But never forgets to
consider the opinions and views of others in the team. The compassion she shows for
others and her commitment and attitude spell the difference.
She is a true champion in or ELLNA results with tireless commitment to serving
our school.
In line with the Basic Education agenda which states that “every child should be a reader
by Grade 1”. After the training on Developmentally Appropriate Practices in the ELLN
Work Accomplished
Literacy and Numeracy skills are crucial for accessing learning. Likewise, Literacy- The
need for reading and writing skills-and Numeracy is important for individuals to develop
logical thinking and reasoning strategies in everyday activities.
Some of the common strategies and activities undertaken are the following:
The ELLN program strengthened teacher’s capacity to teach and assess reading and
numeracy skills. In doing so, our school ELLN program purposively listen to the voice of our
learners.
“The pupil voice” that uses a low-tech, inclusive blended learning approach following the
support activities in every classroom.
1. Read Books- There are plenty of books that support number learning, big books, story
books, and Phil-Iri reading materials- passages are still part of this reading program.
2. Teachers Self-Assessment material-referring to various aspects of teaching early literacy
and numeracy. Teachers presented the lesson on topic and honesty assessed the learners
by choosing one of the ratings below:
This rubric is intended to help teachers in guiding the lessons in every phase of
instructions.
3. Word Lists- The use of word lists such as words with CH< SH, TH and more.
4. Circle of correct spelling
Given the sample words such as:
Bed, bid, bad
5. Hand’s On Numeracy- The value of hands-on math. It may include finger counting, Math
BINGO, Pizza Factions, Survey and Graphs and more.
6. Visual and Spatial Figures- To integrate the use of senses and experiences. Activities that
deliver meaning and understanding to perform manipulations-transformations and
perceptions.
Schools have a deep impact on the community, parents’ school choice decisions are which
they belong. We here at VES through our ELLN programs and activities we practice common
ownership. We shared common interests, social values and responsibilities. The school mutual
relationship with our educative community and as well as to general public can be manifested in
our ELLN programs and activities.
ELLN is a short for Early Language Literacy and Numeracy. It is also referred to a
combination of guided independent study. It helps children to develop their imagination, enhance
creativity, strengthen oral language development and communicate more effectively.
Likewise, aside from that of literacy, numeracy also defined as the ability to access, use
and interpret and communicate mathematical information and ideas. In order to engage in and
manage Mathematical demands of various situations in adult or student life. Literacy and
Numeracy help people gain the fundamental skills necessary to achieve success in life.
III. Rationale
The DepEd (DO) no. 35 S 2016 defines a LAC as a group of teachers who engaged in
collaborative learning session to solve shared challenges encountered in the school. Facilitated by
the school head or designed LAC leader
LAC are our school-based communities or practices, considered as school best
innovations in attaining literacy and numeracy.
The school-based LAC session on ELLN aims to improve the teaching and learning
process among learners. Nurture successful teachers, enable school and staff supports to
continuously improve their content and pedagogical knowledge, practice skills and attitudes to
foster a collaborative professional spirit among school heads, teachers, students, parents and the
community as a whole.
IV. Objectives
Objectives of the school-based LAC session on ELLN are as follows:
Familiarize the K-3 teachers with the reading materials that fit to the pupil’s interest
and needs.
Develop the reading ability of the students
Talk about the Early Literacy instruction and share their techniques on how they
teach young learners to develop literacy and numeracy skills
Our ELLN focal person in the person of Mrs. Eloisa H. Tumbokon, exemplifies with her
designation order as a Grade IV chairman, Demonstration Teacher, Resource Speaker
and Co-chairman In planning Committee during the conduct of 2019 District Orientation
on the Adaptation of Blended-Learning Delivery Model for Teaching Professional
Development-Digital Early Language Literacy and Numeracy Program, and 2020 Division
Reiteration on the Adaptation of Blended Learning Delivery Model for Teaching
Professional Development-Digital Early Language Literacy and Numeracy Program Cluster
Level.

IV. Objectives:
1. Intervene early and maintain the focus on literacy and numeracy
2. Know what the learners can do and target teaching- learning accordingly
3. Have clear and transparent learning goals
V. Participants:
We shall ensure active and sustained linkages and partnership with all
stakeholders towards achieving school aspirations and providing excellent
service to our most special clientele our learners, consistently adhering on the
Vision, Mission and values of the department.
We VES teachers, faculty and staff commit to deliver excellence
performance at par with the National Standards for maximum satisfaction.
III. Objectives
To strengthen teacher’s capacity to teach and to assess early reading, numeracy
skills, and developmentally appropriate practices to their daily classroom
activities.

VIII. Solution:
Value time and look for possible sponsorship, donors for the instructional materials and re-
arrange the schedule suited for each Grade levels. Be it at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon.
IX. Recommendation:
-To further improve the literacy and numeracy skills of learners by establishing a
more sustainable and cost-effective instructional materials.
-To further seek and coordinate all concerns for the success of the project.
I. Introduction:
ELLN primarily concern is to raise the achievement of our learners in language, literacy
