SCHOOL INTERVENTION PLAN

TTILE OF INTERVENTION: BASA’T SULAT, BUKLAT AKLAT (BSBA)

BACKGROUND/CONTEXT:
The low-performance reading skills of learners brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic is a perennial problem that the teachers
need to work hard and look for possible interventions to help learners improve learners reading performance, particularly the K- stage
1 learners.
This program, "Basa't Bilang, Sulat, Buklat Aklat" (BSBA) of Bagumbayan Elementary School, is the intervention program
primarily focus on reteaching the previous grade level reading and numeracy concepts and skills and developing the foundational
skills of selected Grade 1 to 3 learners. The program is tied up with the result of mid-year assessment conducted by K-Stage One
teachers. Based from CRLA result (English, Filipino and MTB) 17% of Grade III pupils were identified as FULL REFRESHER;
Grade II- 20% of 30 pupils and Grade I- 11% out of 35 pupils. For Mathematics results: Grade 1- 14% of 35 pupils were identified as
NEED MAJOR SUPPORT same as in Grade II- 20% of 30 pupils and Grade III- 11% of 47 pupils.
According to Piaget, all children go through the same developmental sequence, but it happens at different rates and levels.
Therefore, teachers must make a special effort (numeracy and literacy) to provide activities/materials for individuals and small groups
of children rather than for the total number of children in a class/group, to scaffold the learning of new concepts/skills from guided
practice to better and able to use the knowledge independently.
The concept and skills of numeracy and literacy will explicitly teach to struggling learners by class advisers every day after
class hours. The respondent of "Basa't Bilang, Sulat, Buklat Aklat" (BSBA), will not be given any homework except the learning
activity sheets provided by the respective adviser.
