ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT OF GRADE 3 – AGATE

IN REMEDIAL READING ACTIVITIES
SY. 2021-2022

Reading is a multifaced process that develop only with practice. There are certain
aspects of reading, such as fluency and word recognition, which can be learned in a few
years. These basics must be mastered but at the same time reading comprehension should
be emphasized in the process.
Ibabang Iyam Elementary School conducted Philippine Reading Inventory Test
(PHIL-IRI) at the beginning of the school year for pre-reading assessment. Ms. Riza Sasot,
grade 3-Agate adviser, were given materials for her learners and assessed each pupil based
from the ability of the child to read. Results were analized and reading interventions were
made throught the school year.

ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN

 Home Reading Visitation

o Grade 3 teachers conducted home reading visitation, this activity aimed to
visit learners who were identified as frustrated readers. It was conducted to
cater the needs of struggling readers by giving necessary interventions at
home once a week by providing assistance in developing reading.

 ELLN Community Learning Pantry

o Lots of reading materials were made by the teacher. These reading materials
were based on the reading abilities of the learners. Parents were allowed to
borrow reading materials every week suited for their kids’ reading ability
which they can bring at home.

 ELLN Quiz Bee

o Grade 3 Agate, participated in the ELLN Quiz Bee. This activity aimed to
develop learners’ reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

 School-Based National Reading Month

o On the Month of November, learners were able to participate in the story
telling contest and group reading contest that helped them to develop their
love for reading
