ELECTRICITY-ASSIGNMENT

1. Calculate the amount of charge flowing in a wire if it draws a current of 2A in 10

minutes.
2. Resistance of a metal wire of length 5m is 100Ω. If the area of cross section of the
wire is 3×10-7 m2 , calculate the resistivity of the metal.
3. The resistance of a wire of length 250 m is 1 ohm. If the resistivity of the material of
wire is 1.6 × 10–8 ohm metre, find the area of cross-section of the wire. How much
does the resistance change if the diameter of the wire is doubled?
4. Four resistors of resistance 2Ω, 3Ω, 3Ω and 4Ω are connected in series combination
Find out the ammeter reading and potential difference across 2Ω resistor.
5. A parallel combination of three resistors takes a current of 7.5 A from a 30V supply
If the two resistors are 10Ω and 12Ω find the resistance of third resistor
6. Find the net current flowing through the following electric circuit:

7. If 200 resistors each of value 0.2 Ω are connected in series and parallel, what will be
the resultant resistance in each case?
8. An electric iron has a rating of 750 W, 220 V. Calculate the
Current flowing through it and (ii) Its resistance when it is in use.
9. An electric heater of resistance 8 W draws 15 A current from the supply mains for 2
hours. Calculate the rate at which heat is developed in the heater.
10.You are given three resistors of 10Ω, 10Ω, 20Ω connected to a battery of 2.5V, a
key, an ammeter and a voltmeter. Draw a circuit diagram showing the correct
connections of given components such that voltmeter gives a reading of 2V
