Assignment 2 (Field Visit to any manufacturing /retail organisation)

Learning Outcome:

At the end of the assignment students will learn the basics of preparing a cost sheet.

Instructions:

 The assignment will be graded out of 30 marks,

 This is a group assignment. Groups have been formed by the instructor
 Students are expected to visit any manufacturing or retail organisation.
 Data is to be collected on all relevant components of a cost sheet.
 The following question (Each carry 4 marks) must be answered though other information is
welcome.

1. Briefly describe the organisation visited

2. What is the product decided for cost sheet preparation?
3. How is the selling price fixed? What is the selling price in rupee terms?
4. What is the direct material used in the product? Is Prime cost readily ascertainable?
5. How is closing stock of finished goods valued?
6. How is the profit margin decided?

 The remaining 6 marks will be assigned for your presentation skills.
