2. Explain the meaning of the table of results presented in sentence 1.
As can be seen from the result table, survival rates were significantly different depending on
the passenger class. The percentage of 1st class passengers who survived was higher (59.9%)
compared to 2nd class (42.7%) and 3rd class (19.4%). The fatality rate increased as
passengers moved from 1st (40.1%) to 3rd (57.3%) class. In 3rd class, a substantial 80.6% of
passengers did not survive. This is extremely higher than in 1st and 2nd classes. The data
indicates that passengers in higher classes had better chances of surviving, possibly thanks to
factors such as cabin location, access to lifeboats, or other privileges that were not available
to lower classes.
