Review Of Related Literature

This chapter presents the related literature and studies from articles and

previous research by local and foreign researchers.

The internet has ushered in a new era of e-commerce, which is the trade of

information, products, and services via the internet, resulting in an increase in online

purchasing or e-shopping (Klakota and Whinston, 2008). Online company has risen

rapidly due to several preferences for purchasing on the internet due to decreased

transaction and inquiry expenses when compared to other sorts of shopping.

Consumers may buy more rapidly, have more options, and acquire items and

services at a lower price while shopping online (Cuneyt & Gautam, 2004). This

should allow online store merchants to identify the most effective ways to close gaps

between effectiveness and online customer patronage, as well as choose which gaps

to focus on. The findings of this study will be useful to online marketers, sellers, and

investors in developing policies, frameworks, and marketing strategies to increase

online shopping penetration and effectiveness in the Philippines. Furthermore, the

study's findings may assist shops enhance the quality of their consumer services.

The study will undoubtedly contribute to the research field of online shopping and e-

commerce in the country by offering an up-to-date assessment of the sector.

According to In the context of online buying, it seeks to include models and

concepts that illuminate the intricacies of consumer decision-making processes. By

expanding on accepted theories, the research aims to offer a solid basis for

understanding the dynamics of consumer behavior in the digital era.(Arun Mishra,

2023.)

People's shopping habits are always evolving. Since the first online shopping

purchase in 1994, there has been a rise in internet buying. With the pandemic over,
retailers and other companies want to know if the boost will continue. To assess the

current determinants of purchasing preferences, the following factors were

investigated: safety, technology, branding, and customer experience. A

phenomenological design was utilized to investigate the lived experiences of six

online consumers who reflect the most popular demographic. This study provides a

greater knowledge of what business marketers need to know about customer online

purchasing decisions.(Jason et al.,2023).

According to (Rehana et al.,2023) The study looks on the shopping habits of senior

high school students at Siena College in Quezon City, focusing primarily on

traditional shopping (TS) and online shopping (OS) as purchase techniques.

Specifically, it seeks consumer respondents' assessments of their behavior in terms

of both shopping lifestyles, preferences in terms of a wide range of product choices,

safety, convenience, prices, and promotions, the significant association between

shopping preferences and age and gender, and the disadvantages and advantages

of both shopping methods.

To achieve these goals, the researchers collected and analyzed quantitative

and qualitative data via online surveys and virtual interviews. The results showed that

most respondents favor online shopping over traditional shopping because of the

wide selection of products accessible, safety, convenience, pricing, and discounts.

Furthermore, the survey finds no significant relationship between respondents' age

and gender and their shopping habits. Future researchers who do a similar study

may learn more about the differences between traditional and offline purchase from

the data and analysis provided by this study. As a result, this work may benefit other

research while accumulating relevant literature.
