Recruitment Plan

You are the recruiter for company ABC. Your company is one of the leading and most
innovative organizations in the retail consumer goods industry. The Vice President of
Marketing (the hiring manager) of the organization just received notice that her Director
of Marketing for a glove accessories product line will be leaving at the end of
September, 2020.

As the recruiter, it will be your responsibility to work with the hiring manager to identify a
diverse candidate pool and find a great Marketing Director. You will need to act fast
because it will be a critical to replace the position before the beginning of the current
incumbent leaves.

To start your recruitment project, you will need to develop a recruiting strategy. Once
you have established a process, you will need to execute your recruiting strategy. It will
be very important to find someone who has a solid experience within retail consumer
goods or other consumer product industries.

As part of the recruiting project, your manager (the Director of Human Resource) has
given you a job description that will aid you in finding the best people. She also has
scheduled you to meet with the hiring manager to discuss your recruiting and selection
plan to fill the open board positions. For that meeting, you need to come prepared to
communicate and discuss the hiring process and timeline. The Director of Product
Development and product development team are relying on you to find them a new
leader who will have an impact on the organization!

approach, your thinking and your ability to be creative that will be the most
important part of this project.
● Define and outline and the hiring process which you will communicate and use

during the recruitment process. For example, how will you move candidates who
will meet the qualifications through the hiring process?

● Develop a recruiting strategy that will outline your recruiting method and the

recruiting sources used to identify and recruit prospective candidates. Think


about targeted companies, agencies, professional associations, Internet, etc.

SUMMARY
Plans, directs, and coordinates the marketing of the organization’s products and/or
services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate
supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Establishes marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products
and/or services.
2. Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range,
to ensure the profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services.
3. Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic
factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of
competitive activity may be minimize.
4. Plans and oversees the organization’s advertising and promotion activities including
print, electronic, and direct mail outlets.
5. Communicates with outside advertising agencies on ongoing campaigns.
6. Works with writers and artist and oversees copywriting, design, layout, paste up,
and production promotional materials.
7. Develops and recommends pricing strategy for the organization which will result in
the greatest share of the market over the long run.
8. Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and share of market performance in relation to
pre-set standards and to general specific trends within the industry and the
economy.
9. Ensures effective control of the marketing results and that correlative action takes
place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives are within
designated budgets.
10. Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and
product policy and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy
and plans to meet the changing market and competitive conditions.
11. Recommends changes in basic structure and organization of the marketing group to
ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide the flexibility
to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities.
12. Conducts marketing survey on current and new product concepts.
13. Prepares marketing activity reports.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manages three subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of five employees in
the Marketing Department.
2. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also
directly supervises two non-supervisory employees.
3. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s
policies and applicable laws.
4. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning,
assigning, and directing to work; appraising performance; rewarding and
disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master’s Degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

● Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals,

financial reports, and legal documents

● Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory'

agencies, or members of the business community.

● Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed

style and format.

● Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups,

and/or boards of directors

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

● Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms,

quadratic equations, and permutations

● Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution,

determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation


techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY
● Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid

conclusions.

● Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or

diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
