Chapters 4-6
1. What I learned?

Chapter four of the book talks more on the senses as part in the art activities of the pupils. After
reading this chapter, I was reminded of my behavior before when I was still a child, that whenever I see
strange or new things, I would touch, smell it, out of my curiosity. This is true with children, they are
curious so they need to touch, smell, even taste the object new to them. As an early childhood teacher,
it is our responsibility to choose materials that have good aesthetic potential.

The next chapter explains that there is a thorough and careful planning in creative activities.
These attitudes must be remembered by a teacher in helping facilitate creative behavior; tolerate small
mistakes, avoid telling the child the best to do things, resist the temptation to always have quiet and
order, get involved working beside the children.

There must be an organized physical environment for creative activities in the classroom. This
involves knowledge of children’s needs, as well as attention to traffic flow in the room, children’s
developing skills and safety.

2. Questions I have

How can I fully implement all the things I read and learned if the space of my classroom is not
sufficient?

3. How will I apply?

By giving ample time to plan and organize the materials, activities and environment, I can apply
these in my class. With God’s grace and the assistance of my aides, successful creative activities will be
achieved.
