THEVENIN’S THEOREM MODULE

 Thevenin’s Theroem – states that “Any linear circuit containing several


voltages and resistances can be replaced by just a Single Voltage in series
with a Single Resistor.”

 Find the thevenin or equivalent impedance Zth across the terminals, by


turning off all the independent source. Shorting voltage source and opening
current source.
 Find the thevenin or open-circuit voltage Vth across the terminals by using
any circuit analysis techniques you like.
 Connect Zth in series with the load (say RL) across Vth and apply the formula
below to solve for volage or current of the load.
