ACTIVITY 2 STORY MAPPING

It’s a Night Job

Major Characters:

A girl who works at a night job: A college girl who studies at daytime and works on a nighttime
as a prostitute. She has dark-colored skin and has a height about 5’1 foot. She wears make-up and seductive
dresses.

Minor Characters:

Client: The client of the girl in her night job. He pays fifty thousand cash in exchange for doing
pleasure activities with the girl in a cheap motel.

Mother: The mother of the girl who has the same job as hers.

Theme:

The story tells about a girl who works at a night job as a prostitute and shares her experiences and
thoughts about the job.

POV:
First person point of view

Setting & Atmosphere:

Burton Street: It is where the young girls (prostitutes) wait for costumers to come and invite them
in exchange for money.

Max’s Hotel: It is where the protagonist and her client did the night job.

Conflict:

Character vs. Self: The protagonist works at the night job that is against her will. Because of the
need for money, she chooses to work instead.

Rising Action:
The rising action takes place where the client invites the protagonist to go to a motel.

Climax:
The climax of the story takes place wherein the protagonist pleasures her client in a motel.
Falling Action:

The falling action takes place where the protagonist asks the client to hand over the price they
agreed upon.

Resolution:

At the end, the protagonist got home and hands over the money to her mother.

Symbolism:

White Dress: It symbolizes purity and innocence. The character is young who is expected to be
innocent and pure which the white dress contradicts her true identity.
Night Time: It is the time where the most evil things happen.
Cheap Motel: This reflects the social class that the character and her client belong.
