Conference 2023
Call for Proposals
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
invite you to submit proposal for sessions at the conference. The conference is held in
collaboration with the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research Development and
Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI), Romania.
Date: 1−3 March 2023

About the conference

iHED Conference 2023 is an annual online conference focusing on the topic of internationalisation
of higher education and research. The conference aims to facilitate networking, knowledge sharing
and to initiate partnerships between HEI in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Germany
and Romania. HE professionals, academicians and stakeholders are provided with insights, best
practices, and expert guidance for working in cooperation projects and higher education consortia.
Focus of iHED 2023 will be on developing and sustaining structured cooperation and strategic
partnerships as well as extending the network of institutions. During the conference, models of
cooperation addressing international bilateral, multilateral, interinstitutional cooperation, strategic
partnerships and working in consortia will be addressed. Topics of the conference are good
practice on partnership programs and consortia, funding for cooperation projects, measurement
of impact of cooperation and establishing double/dual and joint degree programmes.

Interested to contribute to a session as a speaker?

Sessions will be conducted which are designed to provide an engaging forum for exchange of
ideas around a selected topic. Brief, thought-provoking, and stimulating presentations from
experts will be followed by a discussion with the audience.
We invite you to submit a proposal for a 15-minute presentation on a topic. Individual as well
as joint presentations are welcome. You can submit more than one proposal. They should be
submitted across the following themes:
1. ERASMUS: Insights in cooperation projects between Europe and South Asia
2. Double and joint degrees: Good practice and challenges
3. Impact of cooperation: Monitoring and measurement
4. Beyond bilateral projects: Cooperation in network and consortia

Criteria
Eligible for submission of proposals are faculty, researchers, representatives of
institutions/universities, staff of international offices / administration, stakeholders in the field of
higher education from Germany, Romania and South Asia.
Proposals are assessed based on the quality and relevance of the content and their value within
the context of the given topic. A chair will facilitate the session, and up to three speakers share
their viewpoints and engage in a discussion. The selection of the speakers will be done jointly by
the organisers of the conference (DAAD and AIU).
The deadline for the submission of proposals is 15 January 2023. Please submit your proposal
for presentation here. Selected speakers will be notified through email by last week of January
2023.
