Grade: II (Mathematics)

Topic: Ordering numbers

Expected Learning Objective: Students will be able to order a small set of 3-digit numbers in
ascending (increasing) and descending (decreasing) order.

Resources Needed: dice, flash cards, pencil, book, copy.

Lesson Activities:

Time-45 Introductory activity (Pre-Lesson):

The class will begin with fun interaction. Let’s start our class with a very famous
5- rhyme ”Jack and Jill” but in a different way. Teacher makes a mountain with the help
10minutes of her hand and pastes some sticky notes on her hand and then she starts her class
with the below lines.

Jack and Jill went up the number hill.

Jill rolled down from the highest peak


having highest number.

Jack always loved going from smallest


number to highest.

And Jill loved from highest to lowest.

Now students will discuss who is Jack and who is Jill in the maths story. They will
understand the topic” Comparing numbers”

Main Activity (During Lesson):

Students will be in groups of 5. They will roll 3 dice. They will make as many 3-digit
numbers as possible. They will arrange the numbers in Ascending order and vice
10-15 versa. Each group will come and discuss the answers that they found and will also
