Unit -16

Lesson Plan – 6(ii)

Grade: II
Topic / Concept: Division with remainder (2-digit by 1-digit)
Expected Learning Outcome: Students will learn how to do Long division with remainder (2-
digit by 1-digit)
1. Chart paper
2. Flash cards
3. Crayons
4. Rajma beans
5. Ice-cream sticks

Lesson Activities:

Time-45 Recapitulation of pre-lesson Teacher will start the class by giving children few
minutes questions to recapitulate previous day concept.
A)7 ÷63 =9(is it correct or not?)
B)97÷ 3=?
30÷7 Teacher will explain and solve by checking. She will use both the ways and
will check their answer by using D=Q D+R)
Students will solve and check 89÷ 4 and will represent Dividend (D), Divisor(d),
Quotient(Q) and Remainder(R).
.

10
minutes

Concept 3 – 61 ÷6
If the first digit of the dividend is equal to the divisor, divide the divisor into that
number.
Along with the teacher, students will also do it and will check their answer by using
D= QXD+R in their copy.
Students will solve 82÷8

Concept 4 - 14÷4
If the first digit of the dividend is less than the divisor, take two digits, divide the
divisor into that number.
25 Along with the teachers the students will also do the long-division in both the ways
minutes
and will check their answer by using D= QXD+R in their copy.
Students will solve 22÷7
Main activity (During Lesson): The teacher will divide the class into four groups
and will provide them with flash cards with the following questions written on it.
10
minutes (a) 54 5 = ______
(b) 35 ÷ 5 = _______
(c) 76÷7 = ______
(d) 27÷9 = ______
The students will solve these questions in the flash card.
Plenary (Post Lesson): ): Teacher will divide the class into 3 groups and each group
will be ready with 7 objects like(Star sticker/gems/rajma beans/peanuts).They will
equally share 3 objects to each. They will find left out object. The whole activity
they will paste on chart paper and they will present that activity by showing
division.
Copy work- a) 61 ÷ 6 b) 14÷4 c) 64÷3 d) 87÷7
