PRIOR KNOWLEDGE:
Children have the exposure to Rhymes and short poems.

TEACHING PROCEDURE

• The teacher will present the poem loudly with proper pronunciation as a model.
Guided Practice: The children will read after the teacher, individually or in a group.

• Vocabulary: New words cry, day, red, sun, shade, done, etc. to be explained and students will
try to frame short sentences with these words.

and as an introduction to the poem. While the video is playing the colours mentioned may be
pointed out. The rhyming words to be pointed out.

2. Teacher will prepare an envelope (E1) with different words. Another envelope (E2) that contains
words rhyming with the words in E 1. Students in groups will match the words from both the envelopes.

SKILLS: Reading and enjoying rhyme and rhythm
