Third Term Test of English

Part one:Reading (15pts)

A/Comprehension: (8pts)

Read the text carefully then answer the questions:

A charity is an organization, usually a non-profit, that helps people or
communities in need especially during natural disasters such as earthquakes
and floods. A charity may be funded by donations from individuals,
corporations, foundations, and governments. Charities are established to
provide aid for specific purposes such as medical research, education, disaster
relief, and advocacy.

Charity is important. Not only because it can change people’s lives, but
also because it can change the world. By giving to charities, we can help those
less fortunate and support causes we believe in.
Most charities help people who need it, often as a last line of defense.
They help people in your community and around the world. They help the
environment and raise awareness about all kinds of important issues. And
they’re good for you, too!

Giving to charity is a positive thing for you and for the community.
Research has shown that giving to others can lead to better mental and
physical health. So if you’re looking for ways to improve your health, donating
to charity can be one of the solutions.
