Our topic will be exploring Movement in Nature concepts
What are the 4 concepts (the smaller ideas) you will be
connecting to the broader topic (the big idea)? Light Wind Water Growth
What evidence do you provide that led you to identifying this
investigation topic? I provided evidence of students using binoculars to explore the outdoors even when inside the classroom. Children would observe the behavior of animals, trees moving in the wind, ways light moves through and around objects, and other natural phenomena.
What are you most excited about for this investigation?
I am most excited to explore a concept that I am personally interested in. I am eager to see how I can convey concepts of nature that I know and love to children who are new to the concepts. What are 2 possible objectives for the course of your whole investigation? Use the formula as follows: the children will LEARN THIS SKILL by DOING THIS SPECIFIC THING. Think about how this will link to measurable ways you can document children’s growth over time. 1. Children will explore the concept of wind by interacting with both natural wind and manmade wind (blowing, fans, hairdryers). 2. Children will explore water movement by using the water table in many different ways. This could include building dams, pipes, and small streams.
