Application of skills learned during BBIT studies:

Page 42

During my time at IBIT, I honed my communication skills, which became a standout attribute in

my professional journey. The institute's Business Communication course provided a strong

foundation in effective communication. This training not only helped me navigate the

organizational hierarchy during my internship at Web Marketing Sol but also empowered me to

write professional and appropriately tailored emails to my superiors and colleagues. Even in a

technical department, I was recognized for my ability to express ideas clearly and confidently,

thanks to the skills I acquired at IBIT.

Technological Skills:

My educational journey at IBIT equipped me with valuable technological skills, particularly in

the realm of web development. I learned the basics of frontend development, including HTML

and CSS, which played a pivotal role during my internship interviews. Despite being an intern, I

confidently answered technical questions, and my proficiency in these skills served as a solid

foundation for my professional journey.

Business and Finance Skills:

One of the distinct advantages of my education at IBIT was its comprehensive approach,

encompassing various facets of business and finance. As a result, I entered the professional

world well-prepared in terms of business and finance knowledge. I could seamlessly grasp

complex business and finance-related terms and concepts, which proved invaluable when

interpreting project requirements at Web Marketing Sol.

E-Commerce:

IBIT offered an excellent course in e-commerce skills, which I completed during my 6th

semester. This training proved to be a valuable asset, particularly in my ability to explain the

functionalities of WordPress and its applications without limitations.

Teamwork:

Teamwork is a core value instilled in IBIT's educational philosophy, and it was woven

into the fabric of my learning experience from the very beginning. The institute's emphasis on

Chapter 3:

Summary and recommendations

Overall summary:

My 8-week internship at Web Marketing Sol was a transformative experience that

allowed me to apply and further develop the skills I acquired during my education at IBIT. A

standout aspect of my internship was my proficiency in communication, a skill that was greatly

appreciated within the organization. My understanding of the organizational hierarchy and my

ability to craft professional emails were products of the Business Communication course at IBIT.

This strong foundation allowed me to communicate effectively with superiors and colleagues,

setting me apart among fellow interns.

My internship at Web Marketing Sol provided me with insights into various technical

aspects, from the dedication of developers to the intricacies of theme breakdown. I also honed

my data analysis and reporting skills. The experience shed light on the differences between

mobile application development and web application development. In conclusion, my time at

Web Marketing Sol was a transformative journey of learning, skill development, and personal

growth. It allowed me to apply the knowledge and skills acquired at IBIT in a real-world

professional setting, setting the stage for a successful career in digital marketing and web

development.

Recommendations for IBIT:

Page 45

Technology exposure:

As an IT student with IT as my major, I had very little market related technology

exposure. I was when asked what technology is the trendiest now-a-days? I had no answer to this

question. These things must be told in the university by IT professionals.

 Job fair:

IBIT arranged a JOB FAIR this year but I suppose it must arrange job fairs more often.

This must be done at a very large scale so that graduating batch can reach out to as many

companies as they could.

Computer Labs upgradation:

Computer Labs at IBIT must be in a better working condition. Free WI-FI connections

must be provided so that the research work could be made easier for the students at IBIT.

Desktops and machinery provided in labs must be upgrades as well.

 IT related Seminars:

More influential seminars must be arranged. Department should invite big names to the

university like IEEE organization’s seminars.

If such companies can come to other universities then why not University of the Punjab.

 Upgradation of course outline:

Course outline of every semester at IBIT is same since the creation of department.

More market related; job related courses must be introduced with research centers.
Page 46

Recommendations for organization:

 They should work on the organizational culture. The politics I witnessed will be the end

to the organization.

 Developers are not good to the newbies. They try to manipulate them and poke fun at

them if they are unable to perform a task.

 They should focus on diversity of their team. They have good developers for mobile app

development but they lack at having a proper diverse team for web application.

 They should work on latest technology as well. They prefer using Angular over React

whereas React is the market in this era. Angular has been outdated

 They must have a hiring contract with no vague rules and regulations.

 They have a defined set of rules and regulation for employees.

Recommendations for the next internship in this organization:

 Never get shy to ask questions.

 There’s no need to stick on the error that you are trying to resolve for 4 days just go to

your supervisor and get it resolved.

 At IBIT students must be prepared for at least the interviews.

 Dressing and communication must be taken into notice while going to the office.

 Keep your mind fresh with positivity even if the things are not getting under control.

 You are always going to find a solution at the end of the day.

 He must follow the rules and regulations of the organization to prevent any type of

problems.
Page 47

 Introduce yourself in a great manner if someone asks because that can lead to the

permanent job.

 Punctuality is the key, do not be afraid of criticism. Always welcome it with open arms.
