welcome you to the largest collegiate esports tournament experience ever!

On October 27 - 28, 32 teams between 4 game titles will gather to compete for a precious bid to
the CECC 2024. However before we get to that, there is important information that we would like
to share with you. This information is intended to maximize your experience, inform you of
events and activities throughout the weekend, and answer any general questions that you may
have.

Please pay careful attention to this document. We hope that it is helpful for you as you prepare
for your journey to CECC.

About CECC East

“The only thing better than playing on stage is playing on stage in front of an audience.”

The CECC East is held this year at Helix Esports Arena in Foxborough, MA.
Helix is a prestigious gaming center, owned and operated by a team that has held many
ventures in esports - including owning multiple professional teams. With 70 total computers,
stations for SSBU, a front stage, plenty of side activities, and an in-house restaurant, we assure
you that the CECC East will carry with it an experience to be remembered.

Worried about the surmountable mountain that is day two? We’ve partnered with Fisher College
to host an open SSBU tournament on Sunday! We encourage you to use this as an opportunity
to play with local gamers - including non collegiate casual and competitive players.

Don’t worry either - there are plenty of activities for attendees to participate in beyond the
competition. Helix is located at Patriot Place - home of the Patriots. This massive commercial
district has shopping, eateries, entertainment, and so much more for you to explore! Attendees
at the CECC East will be given special treatment - enjoying discounts and other perks at nearby
shops and establishments.

In addition to all of that, we have one more exciting announcement! This event will mark the
first time in CECC history that we have brought high school esports to a Regional LAN. In
partnership with Vanta, the CECC East will see a highschool showcase, run independently but
simultaneously to your collegiate competition. This opportunity gives the next generation of
gamers a chance to see what top level scholastic play looks like - and likewise gives you a
chance to scout for future regional talent.

It’s never too early to plan your flight, or your bed.

At EsportsU, we understand that traveling to a LAN can be a daunting experience. Depending on

where you live, the costs may be high - but don’t worry! We’re here to help!

HOTELS - CSMG and EsportsU have knocked on doors and secured a variety of hotel options for
you and your team! If you do not see an option that stands out to you, we highly recommend
using Airbnb to book lodging that is accessible to the venue. Due to the early start times for
matches on Saturday and Sunday, we do not recommend booking lodging further than 20
minutes from the venue.

FLIGHTS - Flights can often be the most overlooked part when traveling to a LAN. We
recommend booking your flights as early as possible, with an arrival date no later than Friday
6pm. Delta and American are the most connected providers to Boston Logan however there are
also United, Spirit, and other options available.

FRIDAY ACTIVITIES (REQUIRED)

What’s a LAN without a few pre-emptive celebrations and activities? Below are a few important
things to keep in mind as you arrive into the Boston-Logan Airport (or direct if you’re driving!)

1. Pre-Show Mixer: 6:00pm EST

EsportsU and Vanta are hosting a joint mixer on the Friday evening prior to game day.
Meet the other side of the screen IRL and break bread together by trying one of Helix’s
iconic pizzas or wings. The parents and students from Vanta will also be in attendance
and may have questions about the competitive future of their children. Offer
encouragement, candor, and tell them your journey with pride - after all, you’ve made it
this far!

During the mixer, gaming stations are available on behalf of Helix Esports for a nominal
Fee. Regardless if you want to game or eat, don’t leave your wallet at home!

2. Opening Ceremony 7:30pm EST

At 7:30pm, we will be calling forward all teams in the iconic CECC fashion to come up
onto the stage and receive a complimentary and commemorative jersey to remember
the event. Branded with the logos of our sponsors that make events like these possible,
this jersey is our gift to you to remember your experience at LAN.

During this time, players will experience

● Keynote addresses from EsportsU and title sponsors
● Commemorative group photos and photography up on the stage!
● Opening Night Welcome Reception in the player lounge area

FRIDAY ACTIVITIES (OPTIONAL)

Arrived early? You’re in luck, because there’s plenty to do!

● Play at the venue

Get familiar with the high-end gaming PC’s at Helix with a little bit of pre-game
warm up time. Please note that stage construction will be on-going and there
may be disruptive sounds or activities. PC’s will be available from Helix Esports
for a nominal fee.

Sunday will conclude our weekend of the CECC East Region, and we will see several teams
invited to our Finals in 2024!

At EsportsU, we understand that travel and flight schedules may vary based on destination. We
ask that you and your team plan the best travel strategy that works for you, while taking into
consideration match times.

For those who have a Sunday Checkout at your hotel, we recommend one of two options:
● Utilize Hotel Bag holding services at your local hotel to store your luggage until you are
ready to depart. Please consider the travel time back to your hotel and then to Boston
Logan International Airport in your planning.

● Store your luggage at the venue. The EsportsU team can store luggage onsite at Helix to
a limited capacity. This is a free service and is intended to best convenience you and
your fellow players. Please note that this service is only offered to competing players &

 corresponding coaches, captains, and directors. EsportsU and Helix Esports accept no
liability for any missing or damaged luggage for the duration of this event.

● What does CECC stand for?

○ Collegiate Esports Commissioners Cup.
● How does a team qualify for the CECC?
○ For the 2023-2024 school year, teams played in live or virtual invitationals to
qualify. Check the EsportsU Discord and Twitter for information about a qualifier
near you!.
● When and where does the CECC happen?
○ The Collegiate Esports Commissioners Cup 2024 will take place on May 3-5 at a
location to be announced
● Can I buy tickets to the event?
○ For all qualifying students and schools, attendance to this event is free!
● Can I buy group discounted tickets to the event?

● What are the Covid-19 public health regulations?
○ All players are expected to have a COVID-19 vaccination card and be compliant
with their individual university policies.
○ EsportsU takes health and safety seriously and may ask a participant or
spectator to take a COVID-19 test at any given time.
○ Any individual that tests positive on-site must immediately inform EsportsU staff.
EsportsU staff reserve the right to remove any individual(s) and / or terminate the
event to comply with health and safety guidelines.
