Welcome!
Oxford Touch and Gosford All Blacks welcome you to our 5th Bonfire Tournament!
This event is at:
Gosford All Blacks RFC
Stratfield Brake
Frieze Way
Kidlington, Oxfordshire. OX5 1UP

If you are getting the train to Oxford, take a short walk into town to
Magdalen Street. Take any bus towards Kidlington (2, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D,
N2, S4) and ask for Garden City. Get off just after the second
roundabout when you see a large Sainsburys on the right. We are on
the left down Frieze Way. No one has got lost yet (that we know
about...).

On Arrival
There will be limited car parking space on site. PLEASE CAR SHARE AS MUCH AS
POSSIBLE, or there is the nearby Water Eaton Park and Ride (2, signposted from main
roads). Signs will direct you to the pitches that will be used and to the registration tent. A
member of each team is required to come to the registration point on arrival, enabling each
teams packto be collected, providing all the information needed for the day (including meal
vouchers). Teams are free to use the facilities to get changed. Allocated changing rooms will
be on the board in the clubhouse.

Spectators
Families and other spectators are more than welcome to come along and support their own
team, and/or watch the whole event. If you have any questions on the day then there will be
people on hand at the information tent.

Refreshments
The clubhouse has a bar upstairs that will be opened as soon as possible for refreshment
during the day and team food after the semi-finals. This will then stay open after the
tournament prior to heading into town.

Teams
The standard minimum three girls on the pitch will be required for matches. It is the
responsibility of each team to provide their own kit for the tournament. Please make sure
that the kit you use has easily visible numbers on them to help make life easier for the
referees. We will ask you to wear bibs if yours do not have numbers. Please remember that
metal or screw-in studs are illegal in touch.

Each team will be required to provide a player-referee on the day. Referees will be provided
with a bib and any other equipment they need whilst refing. If youd prefer to use your own
whistle, then please bring one.

Registration
Teams should register at the tent on arrival. It will also give you the opportunity to ask any
questions you may have about anything. Each team needs to name their player-ref at this
point if they have not already done so.

Captains and referee briefings will focus on two main areas:
The length of matches and the spirit in which they are to be played
Each player-ref will be given their appointment schedule for the day

Disclaimer
All teams must hand in a completed disclaimer form and team list prior to their first game
(hard copies will be available on the day).

Gosford All Blacks RFC Club Rules
NO playing footwear (touch shoes/boots) in the clubhouse.
NO consuming of your own alcohol on club premises.
Please clear all of your rubbish from the playing fields after the tournament has
finished. Bin bags will be provided in your packs.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Presentations
Following the tournament we will hold the presentations in the clubhouse. We will aim to
begin this as soon as possible as we are conscious that a number of you will have a long trip
home (if youre not staying around to enjoy the heady experience that is the Oxford night
life!)

And Finally After Tournament Oh So Social
Food will be served during the afternoon, and autumn international matches will be shown
on screens in the clubhouse, where the bar will be open. For those that fancy seeing a bit
more of Oxford, we have arranged a night out starting at:
The Wig and Pen (formerly Copa), 9-13 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2AU
for a beverage, chatting and relaxing, followed by an excursion to Maxwells (or other
nightclub) for the more adventurous dancers! Hope you can come and enjoy it with all the
social teams that usually do!

We look forward to meeting those of you that we havent already, as well as welcoming
those of you who know us well! We hope that you will all enjoy yourselves and if you have
any problems or queries whatsoever please dont hesitate to contact Joelene or Rich at
bonfire@oxfordtouch.co.uk

See you on the 8th!

Best wishes,
