When the pests carrying these pathogens come into contact with our environment, bite
people and animals or lay their excrement in our food or surroundings, the germs are
transmitted and then passed on through everyday contact.
Dengue Fever, Diarrhea, Typhoid, Cholera and Malaria are just some of the diseases
transmitted by Pests. If you want to safeguard yourself and your family against these
diseases:

1. INTRODUCTION:
a) This method statement includes and covers the working methodology for application of Termite
Proofing.
b) This working methodology explains the general method statement of work sequences in accordance to
be relevant project specification.
2. MATERIAL.
a) General: Use an emulsible, concentrated termiticide (BIFLEX) that dilutes with water, specially
formulated to prevent termite infestation Fuel oil shall not be permitted as a dilutents. Provide a solution
consisting of one following chemical elements.
b) Dilute with water to concentration level recommended by the manufacturer.
3. MIXES.
a) 1 liter / 400 liter of water (as recommend by the Manufacturer).
4. EXECUTION.
a) Before application of termite proofing work verify the site conditions, remove foreign matter that could
decrease treatment effectiveness on areas to be treated. Loosen, rake, and level soil to be treated,
except previously compacted areas under slabs, foundations and road pavement foundation.
b) Verify that soil surfaces are unfrozen, sufficiently dry to absorb toxicant, and ready to receive treatment.
5. APPLICATION
5.01) Spray apply toxicant in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
Application Rates: Subject to local regulations and requirements, apply soil treatment solution as follows:
1) Under slab on grade structures and foundation: Soil will be treated before concrete slabs are placed
using the following application rates.
a) 4 liter of chemical solution will be apply per 1 meter to soil in critical areas under slab, including
entire inside perimeter of foundation walls, along both sides of interior partition walls, around
plumbing pipes, electric conduit penetrating slab and around interior column footers.
b) 4 liter of Chemical solution will be apply per m 2 as an overall treatment under slab and attached
slab areas where fill is soil or unwashed gravel. 4 liter of chemical solution will be apply per m 2
to areas where fill is washed gravel or other coarse absorbent material.
c) 4 liter of chemical solution will be apply per meter of trench for each 300 mm of depth from
grade to footing, along outside edge of building. Dig a trench 150 to 200 mm wide along outside
of foundation to a depth of not less than 300 mm. Punch holes to top of footing at not more than
300 mm on center and apply chemical solution. Mix chemical solution with the soil as it is being
placed in the trench.
2) Under basement structures: Soil will be treated along exterior and interior walls of foundations with
shallow footings as specified above for exterior of slab on grade structures
3) At grade beams or at hollow masonry foundations, Treat voids at rate 4 liter per meter, poured directly
into the hollow spaces.
4) At expansion joints, control joints, and grade areas where slabs will be penetrated: solution will be used
at a rate of 4 liter per meter.
5.02) Post signs in areas of application to warn workers that soil termiticide treatment has been
applied. Signs will be remove after areas are covered by other construction.
5.03) Re-treatment will be required for any disturbed treated soil with same toxicant as originally done.
5.04) If inspection or testing identifies the presence of termites, re-treat soil and test is required.

3. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
Emergency Overview
Immediate Concerns: Viscous liquid, crystalline solid or waxy solid with
a very faint, slightly sweet odor.
Slightly combustible. May support combustion at elevated
temperatures.
Thermal decomposition and burning may form toxic by-products.
For large exposures or fire, wearpersonal protective equipment
Highly toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. Keep out of drains
and water courses.
Moderately toxic if swallowed
Potential Health Effects;
Effects from overexposure result from either swallowing or coming into
contact with the skin. Symptoms of overexposure include bleeding from
the nose, tremors and convulsions. Contact with this product may
occasionally produce skin sensations such as rashes, numbing, burning
and tingling. These sensations are reversible and usually subside within
12 hours.
Medical Conditions Aggravated: None presently known
Primary Routes of Entry:
Acutenand chronic effects from overexposure may resultfrom inhalation,
ingestion, or absorption through the skin.
Acute Effects from Overexposure:
Data available on human exposure indicates that contact with bifenthrin
may produce skin sensations (feelings of numbing, burning or tingling),
which usually subside within 12 hours. Large doses ingested or inhaled
by laboratory animals produced signs of toxicity which included clonic
convulsions, tremors, loss of muscle control, neurotoxicity even though
its principal mode of action is on the mammalian nervous system.
Solvent-refined light paraffinic distillate, another ingredient, can cause
temperory sniging pain when in contact with the eye. This formulation
also contains mixed aromatic hydrocarbons, including xylene. Inhalation
of aromatic hydrocarbon vapors may cause central nervous system
depression, dizziness, disturbances in vision and respiratory irritation.
Contact with eyes and skin may be resulting in pulmonary edema which
is fatal.
Chronic Effects from Overexposure:

Work Clothing:
Depending upon concentrations encountered, wear long-sleeved
uniform or coveralls and head covering. For larger exposures as in the
case of spills, wear full body cover barrier suit such as a rubber rain suit.
A safety shower should be located nearby. Launder all clothing before
reuse.
Eye Protection:
For splash, vapor or mist exposure, wear chemical protective goggles or
full-face shield. Emergency eyewash fountain should be located nearby.
Engineering Controls:
General air replacement or dilution ventilation is sufficient for material
handling and storage, but local ventilation should be used when
removing this product from containers. Ventilate all transport vehicles
prior to unloading.
Personal Protective Equipment
Eyes and Face: For splash, mist, vapor or dust exposure wear chemical
protective goggles or a face shield.
Respiratory:
For vapor or mist exposure, wear, as a minimum, a properly fitted half-
face or full face air-purifying respirator which is approved for pesticides
(U.S. NIOSH/MSHA, EU CEN or comparable certification organization).
Respirator use and selection must be based on airborne concentrations.
Protective clothing:
Depending upon concentrations encountered, wear coveralls or long-
sleeved uniform and head covering. For larger exposures as in the case
of spills, wear full body cover barrier suit, such as a PVC suit. Leather
items-such as shoes, belts and watchbands – that become
contaminated should be removed and destroyed. Launder all work
clothing before reuse(Separately from household laundry).
Work hygienic practices:
Clean water should be available for washing in case of eye or skin
contamination. Wash skin prior to eating, drinking or using tobacco.
Shower at the end of the workday.
Gloves:
Wear chemical protective gloves made of materials such as rubber,
neoprene, or PVC. Thoroughly wash the outside of gloves with soap
and water prior to removal. Inspect regularly for leaks.
