HSE (Health Safety and Environment):

In Pol there are primarily two types of hazards.

I. Oil
II. Fire

Fire can be characterized by a fire triangle:

I. Oxygen
II. Fuel
III. Heat

If we eliminate one of thing from fire the fire will be closed. Suppose we enclose the Oxygen level by
producing vacuum will be closed automatically. And same if we enclose the fuel the fire stops
immediately. And same case with the heat by eliminating heat system start cool down at room
temperature.

Class of Fire:
Fire is classified on different of fuel which is being used. We are representing the class of fire by
letters A, B, C, D and K. Now I will elaborate each of them.
Class A:
This class includes firing materials such as wood, paper, cloth, rubber and plastic. These class of
fire leave ash behind it.
Class B:
This class includes flammable liquids and gases. In which include gasoline, oil, grease, solvents,
and different types of paints.
Class C:
This class includes different types of electrical equipment’s such as appliances, electrical panels,
and many type of wirings. This risk increases electric shock also.
Class D:
This includes combustible metals such as magnesium, titanium, potassium and sodium.
Distinguishing agents for this fire are powder, sand. This powder work as a smoothing agent for
deduction of further fire.
Class K:
This is related to kitchen appliances fire. Which includes cooking oil, fats, and greases
commonly. These require special type of suppression fire system.
Hazard of H2S Gas:
Hydrogen sulfide is a colorless gas, odorless, highly flammable, toxic to environment, usually
rotten egg smell. Naturally produced by decaying elements thousands of years. On PPF
(Pari Wali Production Facility) plant. It appeared in crude oil which extract from oil wells which
contain water, mud, gas, H2S and money other things.
H2S has different types of hazards. I will simplify each of them
Toxicity:
H2S is highly toxic to environment and also cause different health hazards. Which includes
suffocation, eye irritation, nausea, dizziness, distress. If its concentration is high, it is fatal.
Flammability:
Hydrogen sulfide is flammable and can ignite at high concentrations.it gets oxygen from
environment and become flammable.
