Safety symbol and its position
Please read carefully and obey all description about safety symbol on the
machine, this chapter mainly introduces its position and diagram description.
Protect these safety symbols properly. If you find the character or diagram
lost, damaged or unclear. Please replace with new one or get it repaired in time. If
altering parts with safety sign, you should paste relevant symbol on the new part.
While scrubbing the safety symbol, please use cloth and soap rather than
pharmaceutical and oil liquid, etc.

Safety Regulations
● You should often check your health; never operating the machine when you
feel bad or sleepy after taking medicine or drunk. In this case, a slight
negligence will lead to sever accident to you and the others.
● When working together with other operators or the traffic-commander on

building site. The language signs be used must be accept by all personnel

Safety Protection Staffs

● Personal protection staffs required are subject to specific situation when
operating or maintaining the grader.
● When operating or carrying out maintenance on the grader, the operator should
wear the cap made of hard material, safety glasses, shoes, visible vest, mask,
earplug and glove. When sprinkling metal scraps and small article, especially
nailing with hammer and cleaning impurity of air filter by compressing air,
wearing the safe goggles, cop with hard quality material and thick glove is
necessary.
● Never wearing loose garment; otherwise the clothes
could draw into the control system or moving
parts, leading to severely injury or death.
● Never wearing oily clothes in case of burning.

● Compressing air could cause incidents, so when do some clean with
compressed air, you must wear mask, protection clothing and safety shoes. The
max. air pressure for cleaning should be lower than 0.3Mpa.
● Check-up protection staffs before using it, be sure all the protection articles are
in normal.
Modification not approved to the machine is forbidden.

Any modification to the machine without permission of Xuzhou Xugong

Ⅱ.Safety Operations
Get to know the machine

● Only the worker authorized is entitled to operate and maintain the grader.
● When operating and making maintenance on the machine, be familiar with and
obey all the safety regulations, notes, and instructions.
● Study the documents attached with the grader, learn the structure, operation
and maintenance, and get acquainted with their position and function of every
button, handle, instrument and alarm.
● Fathom all the regulations and rules of operating, and learn to use all signals
when working.
● If some grease or oil has been found on the operator's platform, it must be
cleaned away at once to avoid slipping.
● Checks should be done correctly before and after operation, such as checking
whether it is in safe condition to all safety protection devices, whether it is
worn to the tyre and whether it is normal to the air pressure of tyre. If ignoring
oil leakage, water leakage, deformation, loosening, abnormal noise etc., you
will have the chance to be knocked down by troubles and serious accidents. So
regular checking is necessary.
Lock the grader before leaving from the driver's seat

● The operator must lock the gear lever with lock device, make the parking brake
engaged and put it in brake position which could prevent accidents from
occurring because of touching the lock device unlocked to make the working
device move

● When leaving from the machine, make sure to lower all the working
mechanism down to the ground and then shut off the engine; you can also
lower the working equipment to ground by using floating function after shut
off the engine. Then switch off all the key-switches. Keep the keys safely.
Proceeding to be watchful when using power-reservoir

● The power-reservoir is full of nitrogen gas with high pressure so there may be
risk for using it. Therefore read the following precaution items before using the
power-reservoir.
● The power-reservoir can only be filled with nitrogen gas so it is not allowed to
fill in oxygen, compressed air or other combustible gas, so as to avoid gas
explosion.
● The power-reservoir must be securely fastened on the support frame. And it is
strictly prohibited to fix the power-reservoir by means of welding,
● Never drill holes on the power-reservoir, and never have the spark or flame get
near the power-reservoir.
● Do not welding any protruding support on the power-reservoir.
● The power-reservoir is of the high-pressure container, so only the trained and
qualified people could carry out replacement and repair for it. Before
dismounting it, drain off the pressure oil and release off the nitrogen gas by a
special tool, then dismount the components.
● Before rejecting the power-reservoir, it is a must to release the gas first.
Get on/off the grader

● Check the handrail or ladder before getting on/off the grader, if grease,
lubrication or mud is found, clean away at once. Moreover, repair worn parts
and nail the un-tightened bolt in time.
● Never jump from or jump to the grader, it is dangerous, especially when the
machine is moving.

● When getting on or off the grader, facing the machine, grasp the handrail and
stepping on footplate (double feet and one hand, or double hands and one foot)
to keep balance.
● When get on or off the grader, never grasp any operating lever.
● Never get into the cab from grader rear, or get off the machine by the tire
beside the cab.
● Never clime up or down the grader when carrying tools or other articles, to
hang them onto the platform by the rope.
Fire fighting
Some inflammable materials, such as fuel, lubricating oil used by the engine
of grader is very dangerous when exposing to smoke and fire. So pay attention to
those as follows:
● Keep easy-burning liquid above-mentioned far away from fire.
● When replenishing fuel, please stop the engine. No smoking and not get close
to the flame.
● Fix the lids of containers which storing inflammable liquid above-mentioned.
● Store the inflammable liquid above-mentioned in the container with relevant
symbol, make a classification and store them in fixed place, avoid the

non-worker to use them.

● Clean out the inflammable materials piled up on the grader, such as fuel
lubricating oil or other messes.
● Never make electric welding or flame cutting to pipelines with inflammable
liquid. Before operating, clean them out with uninflammable liquid.
● When operating, it is prone to make fire if exhaust of muffler is close to some
inflammable materials, such as withered grass and used papers. So pay more
attention to it.
● When parking, select a place that there is no easy burning materials such as
withered grass and used papers to surround the grader, especially the muffler.
● Check the leakage of fuel, oil and hydraulic oil. If in case, replace damaged
hose. Operating after cleaning them out.
● Far away from smoke and fire because of occurring of explosive air nearby the
battery. To repair, maintain and use the battery according to the manual.
● When checking somewhere dark, no flame (matches or lighter) can be used.
When traveling on road

● Having been equipped with working device, the grader will make some
obstacles in your front sight. To pay more attention to balance of the machine

when traveling on road.

● Observe the weather. Situation such as fog, dust with smoke, or dust with sand
will prone to obstacles in vision.
● Make investigations for working site to get information such as road
conditions, hole, obstacles, mud or ice and snow.
● If traveling on road or highway, the operator must consult the product

manual in advance, be familiar with and obey local regulations and traffic rules.
Put the marks“low-speed vehicle”, alarm light and warning sign in place to
avoid traffic block, especially speedup when crossing a railway.
● Understand various regulations and rules; learn to use all signals in working.
Understand the application of every signal flag, signal and symbol at a glance.
Extinguisher and first-aid box
If injury or fire occurs, please take action as follows:

● Fire extinguisher must be prepared. Please read operating manual carefully and
make sure know how to use it.
● Equipping with first-aid box on the operating site. It is necessary to check
regularly to avoid medicine in shortage.

● Know how to do when fire or injury occur.

● Select and reserve the telephone numbers of some personnel (such as doctor,
first-aid center, fire station，etc.). The telephone number is stuck in the fixed
place to get in touch with them in emergency, and make sure that all personnel
know these numbers and correct contacting ways
Prevent from injuring or cutting off

● Never enter or put hand, arm or any other parts of body into the moving parts,
such as between working device and cylinder, between the machine and
working device, between frames joint. With the working device moving, room
of connecting rod change dramatically, which is prone to cause severe accident
and personnel injury. So you must stop the engine and lock the working device
before entering the moving parts.
● Supporting the equipment or inclosure correctly while working under the
machine, hydraulic cylinder is invalid. Inclosure will fall down if control
structure moves or hydraulic pipeline leaks.
● Any adjustment is forbidden when the grader is working or engine is running
unless otherwise specified.
● Keep far away from all rotating and running parts.
● Make sure there is no foreign materials on the cooling fan, otherwise, the
cooling fan blade will splash or throw or cut off the foreign material, such as:
tools or other articles
● It is very dangerous to maintain the grader when the engine is running, so
unallowable in theory.
Attention for FOPS&ROPS
Products of Xuzhou Xugong Road Construction Machinery Co.,Ltd., The
protection device FOPS and ROPS are put inside the driver's cab frame structure.

Installing FOPS&ROPS is to protect the operator when the heavy object falling or
the grader inclining. ROPS not only support the load when the machine incline,
but also absorb energy of attacking
Attentions when using:

● If damaged because of falling objects or tilting, the intensity of the protection
device will reduce, losing its normal protection function. In the case, please
consult with Xuzhou Xugong Road Construction Machinery Co.,Ltd. or our
dealer to get the repairing methods.
● If the operator can't use the seat belt, it is no use for his safety even installing
ROPS/FOPS. So make use of the seat belt when operating the machine.
Moreover it is better to change it every three years, even no abnormal signs are
found on seat belt
● Never make holes, electric welding inside or outside the driver's cab in case of
damaging the ROPS/FOPS.
● If repacking the cab, please consult with Xuzhou Xugong Road Construction
Machinery Co.,Ltd. in case of damaging the ROPS/FOPS.
Ether in case the grader with cooling starter device

● The ether is poisonous and inflammable
● Sucking the steam or skin touching the ether will cause people with injury.
● The ether is used in a place with a good ventilation condition
● Don't smoke while changing the ether jar.
● Should pay attention to fire while using the ether.
● Don't put the ether jar in life area or inside the driver's cab.
● Don't put the ether jar in a place shined by the sun or the temperature above
39℃ (120°F)
● Put the discarded ether jar in the safe place, never make holes or roast on it.
● Put the ether jar far away the non-workers.

Attentions for the attachment

● When installing and using spare attachment, please read operation instructions
and information in the manual related to attachments.
● Never use the attachment without prior approval from Xuzhou Xugong Road
Construction Machinery Co.,Ltd. or our dealer; otherwise, it is harmful for the
abnormal operation, and influence service life of the machine.
● Xuzhou Xugong Road Construction Machinery Co.,Ltd. has no responsibility
for any loss, accident and damage of machine because of using the attachment
without our permission.
● The grader blade ( JB/T2648.1-1995) and the tires ( 17.5-25) will be easily
worn during working, so it is recommended to replace them periodically.

Ⅲ Safety starting engine
Working wear
The operator should choose personal protective items according to the
working conditions, be not wear loose clothing and accessories. Always wear a
hardhat and safety shoes. Wear safety glasses, respirator and gloves if the nature
of the work requires it.
Check the jobsite before starting engine

● Before starting operation, thoroughly check the area for any unusual
conditions that could be dangerous.
● Check the terrain and conditions of the ground at worksite, and determine the
best and safety operation method.
● When working in close or underground or polluted places, keep effective
aeration to avoid exhaust gas toxicosis.
● If water pipe, gas lines, or high-voltage electrical cable may be buried under
the worksite, contact each utility and identity their locations. Be careful not to
sever or damage any of them.
● If operating close to an aerial electrocircuit, you should contact to it’s
governing company for power cut, and don’t mangle this establishment.
● When operating in shallow water or bog or traveling in soft banks, check the
condition of the flow of the water. Make sure the water depth is within the
allowed range. Keep the bottom of the driven axle shell above water surface.
Clean and check the lubricating oil adding place after finishing operation.
The allowed water depth sees The Usages & Main Technical Data.

Check machine before starting engine

Carry out the following checks before starting the engine at the beginning of
the day's work. If any abnormality found, report to the person in charge
immediately. Do not operate the machine unless the faults have been corrected.
● Check whether there is any fault of water leakage, oil or fuel leakage, bolt
loose, noises, parts damage or missing.
● Confirm that the lock lever connecting the front and rear frame is at the unlock
position.
● Check the coolant level, fuel level, and oil level in engine oil pan, check for
clogging of the air filter.
● Check that all lights and signal lamps work properly.
● Check that all gauges work properly, and the control levers are all at neutral
position.
● Remove all dirt from the surface of the cab glasses and working lamps to
ensure a good view.
● Adjust the rear-view mirrors so that the rear of machine can be seen clearly
from the operator's seat. Change new ones if they are damaged.
● Do not leave any parts or tools lying around the operator's seat, there is a
hazard that they may drop inside the machine and damage the control levers
and other switches, they may also make the control lever leave the neutral
position and cause serious accident.
● Adjust the operator's seat to a position where it is easy to carry out operations,
and check there is no damage or wear to the seat belt or the mounting clamps.
The seat belt has to be replaced with new one after having been used for 3
years.
● Be sure that fire extinguisher has been provided.
● Remove all oil from the handrail and ladder; remove all mud or oil from your
shoes. There is a hazard that you will slip and fall; the may also cause
disoperation.

Starting engine
● Before getting on the machine, check if there is anybody on below or around
the machine. If it is the case, let them leave the machine first before you start
the machine.
● If there is OPERATION FORBIDDEN mark labeled on the control lever, do
not start the engine.
● Be seated, adjust the seat to a position where it is easy to carry out operations
and fasten the safety belt.
● Be familiar with the warning signals in the gauges, as well as the structure of
the gauges and the control system.
● Be sure that the hand brake is locked, and the control levers are all at neutral
position.
● Sound the horn as a warning.
● Start the engine according to the manual,

● Start the engine only in the cab. Do not short circuit the starter to start the
engine, it is not only dangerous but will also cause damage to the electronic
system of the machine.
Check after starting engine

Carry out the following checks after starting engine and before operating,
be sure no hidden troubles exist.
● Check for any abnormality in the sound and vibration. Report to the person in

charge if the abnormality exists and correct them before operating.
● Check the rotate speed control of the engine while in neural gear.
● Check all the gauges, instruments and working lamps work properly and with
in their working range.
● Operate all the control levers to see their agilities.
● Operate the gear control levers; be sure the forward, neural, and reverse gear
are in their right positions.
● Check to see if the foot brake and accelerator work properly. To check the
steering system should be carried out under low driving speed.
● Unlock the hand brake before traveling.
IV Safety traveling
Personal security
● Have a good operation habit, for the case of everybody safety.
● Sound the horn to warn people in the area before traveling
● Be sure there is no person or obstacles around the machine
● Do not put the arms or legs on the task equipment or extend them out of the
cab

● During operating the machine, keep your mind concentrated on working. Don't
look around or outside, otherwise incident will be arising. Attention should be
paid to the driving direction and surrounding people. When danger occurring,
sound the horn to give alarming.
● Do not let the doors of the cob open.

● Do not let anyone apart from the operator to ride on the machine
● Obey the traffic rules. Don't cause the traffic jam. And raise driving speed
when passing the rood cross.

● When driving on the road, keep driving on one side of the road. And leave way
for other traffic vehicles and maintain a certain distance to them.
Sudden braking may cause serious hurt!

When traveling in high speed, it is very dangerous to shift the gear
from forward to reverse.
Working with load

● When moving the blade, special care should be given not to damage the ladder,
tires and the pull levers.
● It is strictly prohibited to slew the blade when working with load.
● Before making turning and reverse for the machine, raise the ripper.
● When working with the blade not being used, raise the blade.
● It is prohibited to make sudden stop or sudden lowering for working
mechanisms, which, otherwise, will damage the working mechanism and
hydraulic system.
Excessive driving speed is forbidden
● Familiar with the functions of the machine, determine the traveling speed
according to the conditions of the worksite. Meanwhile, notice the relevant
people about the traveling routes and operation method in advance.

● Always keep the machine under control.

● When traveling in the bumpy or sliding ground or the hillside, do not travel in
high speed, do not brake or steer suddenly
● When passing the bumpy places, or things sporadically lied on the ground,
shift down the gear in case overturning occurs.
● Keep the engine running placidly; do not make steering while in high speed.
Keep a good view

● When front sight is not very good or coming into the narrow crossing, shift
down the gear and sound the horn or pause the machine if necessary.
● The foggy and sandy weather will give an impact to operator’s visibility. So
when the visibility gets poor, try best to reduce driving speed, and at the same

time don't let un-related personne1 enter into working area or have a guy
guiding the machine driving
● Misconception of the distances and terrain may occur in the evening, so keep a
proper speed suitable to the surrounding illumination.
● Light the front lights, working lights and top lights when operating,
Obstacles:
● In the area with much obstacle staffs, when the machine needs steering or
driving forward make sure not to let the machine knock against the obstacle
staffs.
● Lower the speed when driving or steering in limited areas. Be sure there is no
obstacle around.
Traveling under severe conditions

● Do not work alone in the dangerous places. Investigate the road conditions,
bridge intensity and the topography of the worksite in advance

● When traveling in the wet or soft ground, take care of the falling-down of the
wheel and the brake performance.
● The mud piled on the ground or the dirt near trenches is loose. So they maybe
collapse down under the machine weight or machine vibration, which, being as
the result, will cause the machine turn over.
● Avoid driving the machine to the place that near the hung staff or deep trench.
Otherwise there may be the possibility of machine turning-over or human
injury caused by collapsing of area that due to machine weight or machine
vibration.
● When there is a hazard of falling rocks or overturning, start the Protection
devices (ROPS)
Traveling on slopes
● Always travel straight up or down a slope. Traveling at an angle across the
slope is extremely dangerous.
● Do not turn on slopes. Always go down to a flat place to change the position of
the machine, then travel onto the slope again. When working on the hills,
inclines or embanks, lower the speed and turn at a small angle.
● Fix a proper gear before going down a slope; do not shift gears during the
travel.
● When driving the machine on the slope, the machine's gravity-center will be
focused on the front wheels or rear wheels, so special care should be given
during operation. Never engage emergency brake during driving on the slope.
● When driving on the hill slope, dam or slope, have the blade get near the slope
surface, keep the clearance at 20-30cm (8-12 inch). In case of emergency,

quickly lower the blade onto the slope surface, so as to help the machine stop
or prevent the machine turning over.
● If applying brake when driving the machine down the slope. don't operate the
gear-shifting control- lever, neither place the gear box being in neutral gear. If
the actual driving speed is beyond its gear limitation, step down the foot pedal
to reduce the driving speed.
● If the engine stops when the machine is traveling on a slope, step the brake
pedal immediately and lower the blade to the ground then adopt hand brake to
fix the machine.
Traveling when in turnaround

To avoid injury or death, even if the machine is equipped with reversing
annunciator and rearview mirror, before moving the machine and working device,
the rules shown below should be followed.
● Sound a whistle to warn the persons at the building site.
● To check the circumambience of the machine and make sure nobody is here
Especially to check the rear area of the machine, because this area cannot be
observed clearly from the operating seat.

● When operation is carried out at the place with risk and poor visibility,
someone should be designated to guide the transportation.
● No persons are allowed to enter the driving area and turnaround area apart
from some certain persons that have been permitted.
● Do not turn around at the high speed.
Towing
Serious injury or death could result if a disables machine is towed incorrectly
or if there is a mistake in the selection or inspection of the wire rope. So follow
the following precautions:
● Always tow the machine according to the Operation Manual.
● Never use a wire rope that has cut strands, reduced diameter, or kinks Wear
leather gloves when handle with the wire ropes.
● When working with other people, determine the signals before towing.
● Never tow a machine on a slope. Select a place which slope is as slight as
possible.
● If the engine or the braking system of the machine with defects has something
wrong, please contact with the manufacturer for repairing.
● When towing the machine, use a wire rope that has enough strength for the
weight of the machine that is being towed. During the towing operation, never
stand between the towing machine and the machine being towed.
● Never bestraddle your feet and stand on the wire rope.
Ⅴ Safety operation

Keep the good customs to operate

● The driver should always sit on the seat, and make sure tighten the safety belt
and the safety device. The grader should always be in operating condition.
● The driver should operate the handles correctly, and make sure not to operate
the handles by accident.
● Checking carefully is needed. If finding something is wrong, the driver should

check the grader at once. At this time don't repair the working parts.
● When the motor grader working, its working load should not be beyond its
capacity limitation. It is very dangerous when working with the machine that
works out of its working capacity limitation. So firstly, get familiar with the
rood condition to avoid overload against the machine. The manufacturer,
Xuzhou Xugong Road Construction Machinery Co.,Ltd. will not bear any
responsibility to the machine damage or human injury to be caused due to
making machine work with overload.

● When the machine working with overload, it will lead the machine being
unstable, so drive the machine with very low speed and adjust the cutting-in
depth and angle according to working condition.
● When driving the machine, care should be taken not to knock the blade against
hard staff to avoid damage against the blade. And nobody should stand below
the front-frame; otherwise injury may be caused against health during the
machine working.
● The driver should observe the rear-surrounding environment carefully before
reversing the grader.
Pay attention to surrounding environment

● No person except the workers is permitted to enter the working area. As the
working equipment of the grader moves up and down, and the grader itself
also moves around, it is forbidden to enter the working area of the working
device (under, front, rear, inside and sides). In case the machine can't work (for
example during checking), jock the working device by a safe method (safety
supports or blocks).
Keep away from dangerous place

● If the air released from the exhauster is injected to the easy-burning objects, or
the exhauster is near to them, fire will be easily lighted. So when you are near

the easy-burning or dangerous materials such as oils, cotton, paper, withered

grass and chemicals, special attentions must be paid.
Ⅵ Safety Parking
● The parking positions of machine should be a ground as flat as possible And
Lower working mechanism down to the ground.
● Do not park on the slope. If you have to park the grader on the slope, the slope
must less than 15%, and you should put the chock under the wheels for
preventing them from slipping, then lower the working mechanism down to
the ground.
● When the grader is in the trouble or has to park at the place where the traffic is
very busy, please set the rail, signal, flag or alarm light and put the other
necessary signal to remind the other drivers .You should make sure the drivers
must look at your signal clearly, and the rail, flag, signal and alarm light you
set will not jam the traffic.
● When stopping the machine, lower the blade completely onto the ground stop
the engine and pull out stopping-braking switch to place it being in braking
position. Lock machine with the key and take out the key When getting off the
machine, climb down the machine while facing the machine. Care should be
token for your own safety, and it is not allowed to jump from the machine.
● The blade could be lowered to ground when the engine is shut off by the way
of pressing the switch on the manipulating box.
Precautions items for cold weather

● After working, the driver should clean the snow, ice, water or mud on the wire,

switch, sensor and other ports. If you do not clean these, it will be froze and
have bad effect for your operation next time.
● Before working you should warm-up the grader adequately. If you do not do
enough work to warm-up the loader, it will become slow and maybe cause
accidents.
● The driver could circle the hydraulic oil to heat it so that the grader will get
ready to work properly. (Get the system pressure up to rated pressure value,
then release the pressure. Afterwards, return hydraulic oil back to oil tank.)
● If the electrolyte of strong battery is froze, do not recharge it and do not start
the grader with other storage battery. It is very dangerous and causes the
battery get fire.
● If you recharge the battery or use the other battery to start the grader, you
should make sure the electrolyte get melted, and check out if there is any
leakage from it.
VII Inspection and maintenance
Trouble notification
If the maintenance is not explained in this manual, unexpected trouble may
occur. Please contact with the designated dealers of Xuzhou Xugong Road
Construction Machinery Co.,Ltd. for repair.
Warning label
● When the operator is maintaining refueling the machine, starting engine or
operating the joystick by other persons may cause severe injury or death to the
operator.
● Post the warning label on the joystick in the cab to show that you are
maintaining the machine. If necessary, post the warning labels around the
machine.

Common knowledge
● The operator and the service people should be trained and get the certification.
The persons who have nothing connection with the inspection and
maintenances are not allowed to enter in the working areas. You can appoint
the special person to guard the areas.
● You should repair the grader according to the instructions. If you do not know
how to repair the grader, you should ask help from XCMG.
● Repairing procedures should be programmed. When the grader is to be
repaired, or parts to be dismantled, the working director should first be
selected and work must be done in accordance with his programmed
procedures.
● The operator should wear a safety hat, protection suit with the wristbands and
trouser legs tightened. Sometimes because of the contents of operation, safety
glasses, gloves and mask should also be worn.
● Please use the proper tools and do not use the broken and inferior tools.
● No smoking when adding oil and doing inspection work.

● Keep the working area clean and orderly. Do not get oil and grease scattering
to all over the working areas. Avoid firing and slipping.
● The fuel and engine oil are of dangerous staff, so the fuel, engine oil, grease
and oily cloth should not be exposed to flame and spark.
● In order to prevent human injury happening, when making repairing on the
machine, stop the engine, engage the parking brake and wedge the machine.
● Strictly adhere to what is required on the label. For the very important notes,
they are explicitly stated on the label, so please strictly obey what is instructed
on the label. If finding the label peeled off or being polluted, please fasten it or

clean it.
● When carrying out repairing service to the machine, stick a label with words "
No Operation" onto the starting switch and instrument panel, or you can paste
another type of warning label, so as to avoid other unrelated people starting
engine or operating control levers, which, otherwise, will cause server human
injury or death.
● Before, dismounting or installing auxiliary attachments, it is necessary to
assign a person in charge of this.
● Place the attachments dismounted from the machine in a safe area, and make
sure they could not fall down. And around the attachment, set a handrail,
with a label" No Entry" hung on it, by doing so to avoid un-related people
getting access.
● Forbid any irrespective people to enter in the working areas.
● When checking or maintaining, please lock the frames by the lock bar.
Cleaning
● Clean the machine, before doing any service and maintenance to make sure
dirt will not come into the machine and safe maintenance.
● If the machine is dirty when doing service and maintenance, it is not easy to
find problems and may cause dirt spatter into eyes or may have the danger of
sliding or hurting due to greasy dirt on the machine.

● While cleaning the machine, should use the cleanser that is non-flammable.
● When cleaning the machine, wear anti-slip shoes to avoid slipping on wet
ground. When using the high-pressure water to wash the machine, wear the
protection clothes.
● Don't splash out water directly on the electric component (e.g.: sensor, and
sockets and plugs). If water gets into the electric system, it can cause operation
failure.
● When cleaning the filter elements with compressed air, wearing the protection
clothes and safe glosses is a must.
Explosion prevention
● When checking the fuel, lubricating oil and battery electrolyte, use the
illuminating device that is of explosion -proof, otherwise, there will be the risk
of explosion.
● If the machine working in the dork area and without illumination, there will be
danger of getting injured, so it is a must to install proper illuminating lamps.
● Even if working in the dark area, it is now allowed to take lighter or flame for
illumination, as it will cause the risk of fire, for the gas sent out from the

battery will cause explosion when exposed to fire.
Working under the grader

● Stop the grader on the smooth road surface, and before working under the
grader, put down all the working devices on the ground.
● Fix-up the wheels with chock.
● It is very dangerous to work under the grader that is only supported by
working devices.
● Never work under the loader with poor support.
Working on the top of the machine

● hen maintaining on the top of machine, should guarantee the foothold clean
and there are not barriers, And follow the following points for preventing
falling .
☆ There can't be unrestrained lubricating oil or the lubricating grease.
☆ Don't put tools all around.
☆ Should pay attention to the paces while walking.
● Don't jump off from machine definitely. When getting on or off the machine,
should face the machine, and must use the ladder and handrail, keep in touch
with three points on the ground at any time (two feet with one hand, or two
hands with one foot).
● Should use the protect equipment under the essential situation.
● The top of the engine hood is smooth and dangerous; no people will be
allowed to stand on it.
● The top of tire is smooth and dangerous, don’t stand on it.
The maintenance work with the engine running

In order to avoid injure and accident, please don’t make maintenance for
machine with engine running. If maintenance has to be carried out even when the
engine is running, follow the following points:
● Arrange a worker sitting on driver seat and get ready to stop the engine at any
time, All workers must keep reach with him

● Don’t touch exhaust pipe or high temperature parts, such as end tube, muffler,
etc. to avoid scalding.
● You should pay extraordinarily attention when the working place is near the
rotate parts, you are in danger that maybe engulfed by the rotate part.
● Never touch any control handle. If it is necessarily to operate a control handle,
firstly make a alarming to other people and ask them to safe place.
● Never have you body or any working tools touch with the leaf of the fan or the
fan belt. Otherwise, serious damage may be caused.
● Don’t adjust the part that you do not know how to make.
Don’t drop the foreign articles in the machine

● When opening the overhaul window or oil-filling plugs for the purpose of
overhauling, be careful not to drop foreign articles inside machine. If some
foreign article has fell into the machine body，it may cause machine damage,
operation fault and other troubles. If there are some foreign matters falling into
the machine, you must take them out.
● When making overhaul, don't bring any unnecessary tools or parts in your
upper pocket.
Heavy objects
● While using the hammer, wear the protective glasses, security helmet and the
protective clothes. And a stick of copper cushion is needed between the
hammer and the parts to be hammered.
● If using a hammer to hit hard part such as; pins or bearing, there will be the
risk that crashes may enter into eyes; so special care should be given.

● Use tools and heavy objects carefully and avoid them falling down.
Repair by welding
To take welding it must be quality workers at places with proper equipment.
Gas、 fire or electric shock can be produced when welding So it is absolutely not
allowed for unqualified persons to carry out the operation. The following points of
attention must be obeyed while welding:
● The end of battery should disconnect in order to prevent the battery from
exploding.
● Disconnect the clip connect of the computer control panel of the transmission
(which is placed in the control box right side of the (driver's seat in the cab) to
prevent burning the panel when welding, After finishing repairing, insert back
the clip connect of control panel properly according to the requirement,
otherwise you can’t start or run the machine.
● Clear paints on welding place in order to prevent the production of the
pernicious gas.
● Burnable vapor and spark may be produced when welding on hydraulic
equipment or pipelines or other place where are very close to, which may
cause fire, so welding in those above places should be avoided.
● If sparks caused by welding drop on rubber hose, electric wire or pressure
pipeline directly, these tubes may burst suddenly, the insulation cover of the
electric wire will be damaged, so cover with fire-proof block.
● When welding near the tire, special attention should be paid because it may
explode.
● When welding, protect clothes should be dressed.

● The ventilation of the welding place should be guaranteed*well.

● Clear up all inflammable material, and fire extinguisher should be supplied at
the site.
● Any innovation that may influence the performance, safety and strength of the
vehicle and working device at the site is prohibited.
Precautions items when the machine is hot

● When just finishing work, the hydraulic oil temperature, and the oil and water
temperature in engine and radiator are very high and still hove pressure. At this
moment, any attempt to open oil tank, radiator drain oil or water, or change the
filter may be severely burnt. Wait until the temperature is falling down and
observe the required program when doing the above operation.
● To prevent splashing hot oil, turn off the engine, cool the hot water, and open
slowly to release the pressure. When checking the temperature, put your hand
close to the front of water radiator, check the air temperature. But pay attention
not to touch the radiator.
● For preventing hot oils from splashing out, stop the engine and let oil get cool.
And slowly open the cover of hot oil tank cover to, release its pressure. When
checking if the oil temperature has been cold or not get your hand near the
front of radiator for hydraulic oil and torque converter oil. And check air
temperature. Pay attention not to touch the radiator.
● Don't touch the engine or it’s muffle、tail pipe and electric component so as not
to be get scalded.
● Don't remove the engine oil temperature sensor, water temperature sensor;
torque converter sensor and air-conditioner tubes so as not to be get scalded.

● Cool system contain alkaline material, avoid touching your own skin and eyes.
● When replacing coolant liquid, engine oil, gearbox oil and oil filters etc. pleas
use the proper container to hold these oil liquid. The treatment for rejected
liquid should be accord with the local rules and regulations in terms of
environmental protection.
● When you need to remove the air-conditioner tubes, remember not to expose
the tubes to fire and flame. Otherwise it will cause injure due to poisonous gas.
Inspection and Service for Hydraulic System

● Before making checking and repairing service for hydraulic system, be sure to
lower the blade down onto the ground and get the hydraulic oil cool down.
And release out all the system pressure from hydraulic system.
● Don't bend or hit the high-pressure pipelines. And never mount the tubes and
hoses with abnormal bending or already being broken on the machine.
● If finding any tubes or hoses for fuel circuit, lubricating oil circuit and
hydraulic system circuit get loose or broken, get them fixed. And leakage may
also cause fire, so when finding leakage, please repair it or make replacement.
● Please check carefully all the tubes and hoses, and tighten all the connection
fittings with torque as required. When making inspection for any oil leakage,
use a clean piece of plate or paper board to make such inspection rather than
by means of hand, since the liquid pressure from leaking point will cause sever
health injury, even if the leaking point is very small, like a needle eye, the
leakage pressure can strike through your skin. If it happens that oil liquid
splash on your skin, try to reach the competent surgeon to treat the case within
several hours. And replacement should be made if following cases are found:
☆ Connection fittings being broken or appearing leakage.
☆ The external coating of hoses are worn out or cracked down and their
reinforcing wires are exposed.
☆ Hose gets bulged at some particular locations.
☆ Hoses get obviously twisted or deformed due to pressing.
☆ The hose reinforcing wires get extending out.

☆ Wrong end connection.

● Make sure that all pipelines clamping, protection and insulation plates are
correctly mounted, so as to prevent shock and conflicting with other parts.
● When replacing coolant liquid, engine oil, gearbox oil and oil filters, etc. use
the proper container to hold these oil liquid. The treatment for rejected liquid
should be accord with the local rules and regulations in terms of environmental
protection.
Fire Prevention
● When refilling fuel, it is a must to stop the engine. And during refilling fuel it
is prohibited to smoke or expose to fire or flame.
● The storage for fuel, grease and other combustible staffs should be kept away
from fire.
● Clean away all the combustible staffs, such as: fuel, lubricating oil and other
foreign articles built-up on the machine. And make sure there is no any oily
cloth or other combustible material existing.
● There will be some explosive gas producing near the battery, so never get it
near to fire or flame. Strictly follow the relative instruction to make
maintenance for and use the battery.
● When parking the machine, care should be taken to select the suitable parking
location and its surrounding environment. And special attention should be paid
to ensure that there is no withered grass, used paper and other combustible
material near the muffler of the machine.

● Check if there is any leakage of fuel, engine oil and hydraulic oil. If it is in
case replace the broken hoses. And only after you clean and fix the problems
can you make another attempt to drive the machine again.
● Check if the electrical wires get broken or failure. If finding any damage,
replace with a new one.
● When cleaning the components, use the non-combustible cleaning solvent.
Don't use the petroleum oil or other combustible liquid for cleaning.
● Don't make any welding or fire-cutting on the pipelines or tanks which contain
combustible liquid. Before you make any welding or cutting, clean the pipeline
first with non-combustible cleaning solvent, then make welding and cutting.
● Prior to making any service and repairing, check if the fire extinguisher is
proper or not. Must clearly know the storage location of the fire extinguisher
and first-aid package.
● When you need to check the dark area on the machine, it is not allowed to use
flame or fire (match or lighter, etc.)
● When dismounting the tubes of air-conditioner compressor, it is strictly
prohibited to get near the flame; otherwise, the poisonous gas to be produced
will cause poisoning.
Instructions to be followed when refilling fuel and lubricating oil

Fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, anti-freezing addition and braking oil could be
lighted with fire or flame, so following points must be obeyed:
● Stop the engine when refilling fuel or lubricating oil.
● Smoking is definitely prohibited.
● Clean away the leaked fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, and antifreeze
addition and braking oil.
● All tanks covers for fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, anti-freezing addition
and braking oil must be securely fastened.
● Refill the fuel, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, anti-freezing addition and braking
oil in the place with good ventilation.

Maintenance for battery

The battery electrolyte contains vitriol and can produces hydrogen, so
incorrect handling for the battery will cause serious injury and fire risk, therefore,
the following points must be obeyed:
● Never get the lighted cigarette or flame close to the battery.
● When you have to touch the battery during working, you ought to wear safety
glass and rubber gloves.
● If the electrolyte is splashed onto your clothes or skin, rinse with plenty of
fresh water immediately.
● If the battery electrolyte is splashed into eyes, it will cause blindness. So if in
case, rinse the eyes with plenty of fresh water and see doctor right away.
● If you drink the electrolyte out of carelessness, then you must drink a lot of
water, milk, fresh egg or vegetable oil, and get help from doctors or first-aid
center immediately.
● Before you do any job relating the battery, remember to stop the engine.
● Avoid the touching of metal staffs (e.g.: tools), which could cause short circuit
to positive pole (+) and negative pole (-) of the battery.
● When installing the battery, fix the positive pole (+) first; when dismounting
the batter, disconnect the negative pole (-) first.
● When disassembling or installing the battery, firstly check which pole is
positive pole and which is negative pole, then tighten it with screws. If the
electrolyte level reaches near " lower", then refill stilled water till it reaches "
upper" level.
● When cleaning the top surface of the battery, use a piece of cloth to cover it.

Never use petroleum oil and other organic solvent and cleaning solvent,
● Tighten the top cover of the battery.
● If the electrolyte has been frozen, don't recharge the battery and start the
engine with other power source either; otherwise it is very dangerous and will
cause battery to get fire. When charging the battery or starting the engine with
other power source, melt the battery electrolyte first before you attempt to start
the engine, and you also need to check if there is any leakage.
● Remove the battery from the machine before recharging the battery.
● When repairing the electric system or doing welding on the machine, it is
needed to remove the negative pole (-) of the battery to prevent the current
flowing.
Recharging for battery

When recharging the battery, if handle the battery incorrectly, then there is
the risk of battery explosion. So the procedure for disposing and recharging the
battery should be in line with required process and instruction, and also obey the
following points.
● Recharging for the battery should be done in a place with good ventilation.
Take out its top cover, by doing so hydrogen scattering and explosion can be
prevented.
● Set the recharging voltage according to the voltage requirement for the battery
to be recharged. If the recharging voltage is wrongly set, then it will cause the
charger getting too hot or fire and also possibly explosion.
● Connect the positive (+) clamping-terminal of the charger with positive pole
(+), and negative terminal (-) with negative pole (-). And fasten their

connection.
● If the recharging ratio is less than 1/10, then you hove to make rapid charging
and set it within the battery's rated capacity. If the recharging current is too
much, then it may cause electrolyte leakage or evaporation, which will
possibly cause fire or explosion
Starting the machine by means of voltage-increasing cable

If there is any wrong with the connection for the voltage-increasing cable,
risk of fire will be caused. So for this operation, please follow the following steps:
● Two people will be available for this operation. (One of them will keep sitting
on the operator seat).
● When starting one machine, don't have it touching with another machine.
● When connecting the voltage-increasing cable, shut off the Starting-up
switches of both the machines with and without the problems.
● When installing the voltage-increasing cable, you must remember that the
positive (+) cable should be connected first. When dismounting the
voltage-increasing cable, grounding or negative (-) coble should be removed
first.
● The final grounding cable should be connected to the engine of the machine
which is with problems, but this will cause sparks, so when making connection,
please get away from the battery as far as possible.
● When dismounting the voltage-increasing coble, care should be taken to
prevent the clampers of cables touching with each other or touching with the
machine.
Maintenance for tyres-wheel

● If the tyres explode, the explosion itself will throw the wheel hub, tyres,
driving axle and other components 500m or more far away from the machine.
And explosion and its partials will cause server damage and healthy injury, so
the tyres pressure must be maintained at normal pressure range. Never inflate
the tyres beyond its rated pressure range.

● During traveling, the heat produced due to high-speed machine traveling will
cause the tyres pressure arising to some extent, this is the normal case, please
don't attempt to reduce the tyres pressure. What you should do is to reduce the
machine traveling speed or just stop the machine to have the tyres cooling
down. However, if the machine keeps moving at very high speed continuously,
which will cause the tyres being overheated, then tyres explosion will be led,
so attention should be given.
● When adjusting tyres pressure, keep away from the tyres as far as possible.
And you should always stand at the back of the tyres.
● It is prohibited to inflate the tyres with combustible gas.
● Check daily the tyres and wheel hub. It is not allowed to do any operation with
very low tyres pressure. And also check if there is any cracks or deformation
on the tyres.
● Check the mounting screws and bolts on the wheels to see if there is any loss
and if they are securely fasten with torque as required by the manufacturer.
● During checking the wheels, don't make any access to the turning wheels, both
in the front and in the back. Such checking should be done from the wheel
sides. When you need to remove one of the wheels, then other wheels need to
be blocked with wedges under them.
● When making welding near the wheels, since the tyres wheel may cause
explosion, so special care should be given.

● If wheel tire is to fall down, get away from it, since the tires for the use on
construction machinery are quite heavy, and any attempt to hold it by hand will
lead serious injury.
Electrical system
● Just professional and competent people can do the Job relating with the
electrical system of the machine.
● Before making any maintenance for the electrical system, make sure to adjust
the starter key switch.
Hoods
● Don't make any maintenance for non-mental hoods. The dust arose during
polishing the non-mental hoods may cause explosion. And in addition,
breathing in such dust will be also harmful to your health.
Rejected material
● In order to avoid pollution, especially in the area with people or animals living,
the following points must be obeyed;
● Never discharge the rejected oil into water saw or river.
● Hold the rejected oil with proper container. Don't exhaust the oil liquid directly
onto ground.
● When handling the some harmful substances, such as: lubricating oil, fuel,
coolant liquid, solvent, oil filter, battery and other material, relative local rules
and codes should be obeyed.
Content of key components and its replacement period
To guarantee the safety of grader in use, users must keep maintaining termly.
In addition, in order to improve safety further, users should replace the
components listed in the table because these components ore most important in
fireproof and safety.
● The components material will get corroded with the time going, or will get
worn out quickly, and what is more worse is it is quite difficult to judge these

component status only by the periodical maintenance, so no matter how these

components status would be, they should be replaced regularly, to make sure
their normal working performance.
● If the replacing time has not come, but some abnormal thing is found, replace
or repair them immediately.
● When replacing the tube, "0" ring, seal washer and other such components
should be replaced at the same time.

VIII Safe Transportation
Loading and Unloading the Machine

● There is always potential risk of danger during loading and unloading the
machine, so special care should be given. During loading and unloading the
machine, the engine must run at low speed, and the machine travels also at low
speed.
● To load or unload the machine should be done on the hard ground, and be kept

at safe distance between road edge.

● When loading or unloading the machine to/from transporting vehicles, you
must be sure that the wheels of vehicles are securely positioned, not moving.
And put a wedge under the slope plate.
● Use plates as slope plates that are of enough strength, enough length and width,
so that it can be sure the slope plates are strong and safe enough to load or
unload the machine. The angle between the slope plates and ground should not
be more than 15". And the gap between slope plates should be in accordance
with the wheel of the machine to be loaded or unloaded.
● Make sure the slopes plates are securely fastened in same heighten level.
● Make sure the slope plates are free of grease 、 oil 、 ice and other loosen
material. And also remove away the dirt from the machine wheels.
● Never make steering on the slope plates. But if the steering has to be done,
then get the machine off from the slope plates. After steering is made you can
drive the machine up the slope plates.
● After the machine being loaded on the vehicles, lock the steering device and
put a wedge under the machine wheels. And then fasten the machine with
ropes.
Transporting on Road
● When delivering the machine by means of vehicles, follow the national or
local rules and regulations in terms of transporting weight, height, width and
● length strictly. And relative traffic rules should also be abided.
● When determining the road route, the weight, height, width and length of the

● When passing the bridge or other buildings a private area, firstly check if the
bridges or these buildings are strong enough to endure the machine weight.
When traveling on the public road, following relative rules or regulations.

Gauges:
1) Engine water temperature gauge: the measurement range is 40~120℃, indicates the
coolant temperature of the engine, under normal condition, the water temperature
should below 95℃.
2) Engine oil pressure gauge: measurement range 0~1Mpa, displays oil pressure of
engine, low idle speed (lowest allowed value) 69kPa, the rated rotation speed (lowest
allowed value) 207kpa.
3) Tachometer: the measurement range is 0~3000, displays rotation speed of engine.
4) Fuel gauge: measurement range 0~1/2~1, indicates oil level of diesel oil tank.
5) Voltage gauge: measurement range 16~36V, displays system voltage.
Indicator lights
Engine maintenance alarm light (13): it means the engine needs maintenance.
Engine oil alarm light (14): it means engine oil pressure is abnormal, please stop and
check.
Engine water temperature alarm light (20): it means engine temperature is high,
please stop and check it.
Engine stop alarm light (26): it means the engine has severe faults, please stop and
check, press down the diagnosis switch, it light shines and displays the fault code.
Engine diagnosis indicator light (27): when press down the diagnosis switch, the
light is on.

Gear box oil temperature alarm light (23): it means the oil temperature of gear
box is high, it needs to stop and check.
Oil pressure alarm light of gear box (30): it means the operation oil pressure is
low of the gear box, it needs to stop and check.
Centralized lubrication indicator light (17): it means the centralized lubrication

system is working. (if equipped).
Air filter alarm light (31): it means the air filter needs to clean or change.

Reversing indicator light (18): when it is in reversing gear, the indicator light is on.
High beam indicator light (21): when the combination switch is in high beam
position, the indicator light is on.
Charging indicator light (24): when the turn on the key switch, while the engine is
not started, the light is on, then the light will be off in one minute, it means the storage battery
is charging.
Parking indicator light（28）：it means the machine is on parking brake condition.
Brake pressure indicator light (33): after the engine is started, the indicator light is
on, after about one minute, the light will be out. If the light is on when the machine is working,
it means the hydraulic brake system has faults, it needs to stop and check.
Left turning light (4): turn the switch to left, the light is on.

Shift gears
The gear-shifting control joysticks can control the machine Forward or
Reverse, which can realize the speeds of forward 6 and reverse 3.This operation
shall be made gradually in sequence, while skip gear operation is prohibited.

Reverse, the middle one is Neutral gear.)

The footboard with the hand-control speed handle can control the rotary speed

It can act on the brake of the rear wheels with hydraulic system. The braking

Hand brake operating device:

Move up the hand brake to engage the stopping brake; and then push down
the hand brake to disengage braking.

Upturning machine for hood

The hood is made of complex material. When the engine is wrong, the hood
would be upturned by the manual pump and hydraulic cylinder. The manual pump
is on the left side of rear frame. Choose a needed direction by turning the handle
of the pump. When the direction is up, insert the pole taken with the grader into
the sleeve on the pump’s side and pull it up and down, the hood will be upturned.
When the direction is down, the hood will return primary position via itself
gravity.
Ⅱ Vehicle running- in
The machine has already been checked and adjusted completely before
sale, However, if it works under the atrocious environment at the beginning, the
using lift of the machine may be shortened obviously. Many components of the
machine (such as: engine, axle, gearbox, pump, motor and valve, etc) need a
certain running-in period. Only after the running-in period, could the machine
service lift and its maximum productivity efficiency be achieved. So it is
necessary to carry out run-in to the machine at the first 50 operating hours and

pay attention to maintenance service. Please follow the regulations stated below
during the run-in period:
● After starting, idle the machine for 5 minutes
● It is forbidden to accelerate the suddenly during pre-warning.
● Apart from emergency case, sudden startup acceleration turnaround and
sudden brake should be avoided.
● During run-in period, forward gears are I, II, Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴand Ⅵ; rear gears areⅠ,
Ⅱand Ⅲ.Every gear should be scheduled in run-in equally.
● During run-in period, it is better not to let the machine with full load capacity.
And the driving speed don’t exceeds rated maximal speed by seventy percent .
● Pay attention to the lubrication state of the machine, replace or add lubricant
according to the prescribed time.
● Often pay attention to the temperature of gearbox, torque converter, front and
rear axle, wheel hub and brake drum. If overheating front and rear axle, wheel
hub and brake drum. If overheating problem occurs, be sure to find the reason
and resolve the problem.
● Check the tightness of every bolt and nut.
● After 10 hours run-in of a new machine, the following should be carried out:
☆ Check the tightness of every bolt and nut overall Especially for cylinder head
bolt of diesel engine, fix bolt of engine, gearbox and front & rear axle, hub
nut, connecting bolt of the transmission shaft etc. All the above bolts should
be checked once.
☆ Clean the rough and fine engine oil filter and fuel filter.
☆ Check the tightness of fan belt, generator belt and air-conditioner compress
belt.
☆ Check the gravity and reserves of the storage battery electrolyte tighten the
joints of storage battery.
☆ Check the oil level of the speeder.

☆ Check the airproof state of the hydraulic system and brake system.
☆ Check the connection and tightening state of every control stick and
accelerator pusher.
☆ Check the temperature and connection state of every component in the
electric system, power supply state of dynamotor, state of lighting and turning
signal light.
Ⅲ. Utility
Starting up
1. Overall inspection before starting up
● Whether fuel, oil and coolant for the engine is sufficient.
● Refill the hydraulic oil to the upper limit of the stick.
● Observe blade rotation and the oil level inside turbo box.
● Whether the connection for each part is loose.
● The pressure in the tire meets the standard or not.
● Light and horn system.
● Whether the speed controlling rod is agile and in the neutral position.
● Whether the air-conditioner (option) is off.
● Check the service brake and stopping brake to see if they can work properly.
● Check the seat belt and all other safety device to see if they can work properly.
Only after the above mentioned 6 elements are in proper order can the
engine be started.
2. Starting the engine
● Place speed-gear stick in neutral position.
● Switch on the main power supply.
● Turn the starting key to switch on the power for gauges/ and step on the
accelerator.
● Press starting switch to switch on starting motor, then the engine is started.
● Once the engine is started, release the key and starting switch.
● After startup, warm the machine for about 5-10 minutes at the idle speed. And
at the same time pay close attention to the indication of meters. If there is no

abnormal situation and the brake indicating lamp goes off, then you can
release the parking brake and drive the machine.
Attention:
● Every starting can last 10-15 seconds at most. The quench time of each starting
should be at least 1 minute. The speed-controlling rod should be placed in the
neutral position. If your machine can’t start for three successive times, check
the machine according to the explanation in the operation manual. Start the
engine again after resolving the trouble problem.
● Before starting up, place all control sticks in neutral position, speed-gear in
idle gear and switches in reset position.
● At the time of starting up, it is not allowed to accelerate throttle to its max.
position to avoid damage against engine within sudden time.
● For other instruction concerning engine operation, please refer to specific
documentation of diesel engine.
3. After the engine being started up
● When the engine is started, make the engine run in 600-850r/min for 5 minutes
to raise its temperature. When the hydraulic system pressure goes up to more
than 10Mpa and the brake indicating lamp goes off, then you can release the
parking brake and drive the machine.
● It is not allowed to keep the engine continuously running at idle-gear with high
speed or low speed for more than 20 minutes. If it is necessary to keep the
engine running at idle-gear, then it is needed to have the engine be loaded
every now and then or let the engine run at medium-range speed.
Afterwards, the following checking should also be implemented before
driving the machine forward:
● Listen if there is any abnormal sound from transmission mechanism of engine.
● Check if all working mechanism could work properly.
● Check if the brake is safe and reliable.
● Check if the steering operation is flexible and reliable.
● Check if the circuit is in normal condition.
● Check if the lights and gauges are functioning, whether the indicating is

normal.
Traveling
1. Move
● Lift blade and slew it back.
● Release stop parking brake.
● Place Shift control stick to position I or II, then slowly Step down the throttle
Pedal to accelerate.
Attention:
● When driving the machine on the slope ground or on the ground with tough
condition, it is prohibited to drive machine with high speed.
● Select proper traveling gear before driving down from slope. Never make gear
shifting during driving down from slope.
● It is also prohibited to drive machine with override speed when coming down
from slope. You can reduce speed by means of braking pedal.
2. Interchange between Gear Shifting and Forward/Reverse
● To shift the speed gear, you should operate in sequence.
● Gear shifting range:
gear Ⅰ、Ⅱ：levelling operation on conditions of uneven roads ,large amout of
shovelling and climbing.
gear Ⅲ、Ⅳ：fine levelling operation on even roads ,topsoil levelling,transfer
on uneven roads.
gear Ⅴ、Ⅵ：high speed running.
● When shifting speed gear, it is now allowed to accelerate to avoid the sudden
shock to transmission system.
● In order to improve operation comfort-ability for operator and also prolong the
service life to maximum of every working component, it is a Must to reduce
traveling speed or apply braking when it needs to make gear shifting.
● It is not necessary to stop the machine for applying gear-shifting during
machine traveling. And it is also not necessary to step on braking pedal. When
making gear-shifting from low speed to high speed, firstly release the
acceleration throttle for a while, and at same time operate the control stick of

gear-shifting, then step on the accelerate pedal again. If it is from high speed to
low speed, firstly release the throttle to slowly reduce traveling speed, then
apply gear-shifting.
3. Steering
● During driving, turn the steering wheel to the direction as desired, and then the
machine will make steering.
● This type of machine takes its articulation pin as its center, so during steering,
the front frame and rear frame are not in alignment.
● It will be very dangerous if making steering at very high traveling speed, so it
is not allowed to do so.
● Making steering when traveling on slope will cause tilting over to the machine,
so it is now allowed to do so.
4. Braking
● Don't put your feet on the braking pedal, if it is not very necessary.
● Don't step on the braking pedal repeatedly, if it is not necessary.
● When driving the machine down slop, take the engine as braking device.
Never make gear-shifting or apply idle gear of gearbox.
Working
1. Blade adjustment
As showed in the figure on control joystick for blade adjustment. The blade
position can be adjusted by controlling each joystick, so that the blade can be
adjusted at different position to apply different working situation.
Attention: Slewing the blade with load is forbidden.
2. Slewing- frame rotating

Normally, the slewing-frame is locked at horizontal position. When needing

to tilt the blade, take the following steps to fix the blade at position 1 or 2 and
4 or 6. (See fig.8)
1 For placing at position 1 or 2, take the slewing frame cylinder fully in.
2 For placing o+ position 4 or 6, take in fully the slewing frame cylinder.
3 After finishing the above step, engage the blade cylinder to lower down the
blade onto ground (hydraulic system has no load pressure).
4 Take away the locking pin of slewing frame.
5 When rotating slewing-frame, operate the control joysticks of the blade
raising cylinder and blade slewing cylinder.
6 Lock the slewing frame with the locking pin.
3. Front wheel inclining
Operate the rod to make the front wheel inclining to either right or left
side. Incline the front wheel to get:
1 Smaller turning radius. During leveling operation, it can strengthen the
capability of anti-slippery of the tire.
2 Even if it is working on the slope, the wheel will have better adhesive
power.
4.Rear scarifier (option)
It is an option available at request. There are 5 teeth for the rear scarifier.
Normally it works with 3 teeth if operating on hard surface, while the teeth to be
used should be in symmetric arrangement
There are 2 positions for the scarifier: working position and traveling
position. Take out the safety spring, and pull out the rod. Draw back the scarifying
teeth and lift the scarifier completely, so as to make the scarifier in traveling
position. Take out the safety spring, and pull out the rod. Draw out teeth to make
the scarifier in working position. Operate the scarifier control rod to lay down the
teeth on the ground, and drive the grader forward; and lower the scarifier at the
same time, so as to make it digging into the earth.

Note:
Lift the scarifier up during grader's turning or reverse driving operation.
When the grader moves to another work site，the scarifier should be made in
traveling position.
5. Front dozer blade (option)

It is an option available at request. Operate the front blade control ever to
control the up-down motion of the blade.
Note: Lift the blade when it is not in operation.
6. Leveling operation
Leveling operation is applied in the project of road building, road repair and
maintenance, site leveling, ditch backfill or road-building material spreading etc.
During operation, it is required to adjust the blade angle properly according
to the project requirement and soil texture. Traveling forward in I gear, lower the
blade to cut into earth. Adjust the blade cutting depth, blade plane angle and
traveling direction all the time according to load and geography condition; so as
to make the earth scrapped moving laterally along the blade surface to unload the
earth to either side of the grader or between the two wheels. Pay attention not to
make the earth ridge in the track of the rear wheel, otherwise it will affect the
traction force of the grader, and thus cause an even surface for the scrapped area.
When performing ditch backfill, it is required to have the blade inclined to
the ditch, to unload the earth into the ditch, and ensure a safety traveling during
the operation. When performing reverse Operation, it is suggested to have the
blade revolving angle of 180°C so as to
Improve the operation efficiency. When operating leveling or gravel (or other
material) spreading at the last stage of shoveling operation, the blade should be
adjusted to the position at 90°C to its vertical axis, while grader should travel at
I gear, and the blade height being adjusted to cut a little amount of earth, so as to
make most of the shoveled earth to be pushed forward, with very little amount
flowing to either side. For the earth flowing to the two sides, lower the blade to

the ground, and even the soil in a high traveling speed. Operating on a curved line,
the operator shall properly control the direction or make use of full wheel steering
to perform the operation flexibly.
7. Digging ditches
Digging ditches operation is used for digging ditches along the roadside or
drain in the site. During digging operation, normally the blade is put in inclination;
one end of the blade is placed on the ground for operation, the digging operation
includes 3 stages: demarcating, deepen and trimming. Before operation, clear out
obstacles, and carry out a primary leveling. Scarify the soil if necessary, and mark
the centerline of the ditch.
● Demarcating operation
Demarcating operation is a very important performance for the over all
operating quality, especially for the straightness of the ditch direction. During
operation, make the blade-shoveling end on same line with front wheel contour,
and make the front wheel inclining properly towards the inner side of the ditch,
and the blade front edge in 15-30 cm away from the ditch contour. When the
grader is traveling at I gear, lower the blade front edge down to cut earth, with a
cutting depth normally less than 10cm. Lift the blade rear edge to 40cm away,
from the ground, so as to make the cut earth in the middle of the blade to be
unloaded between the two wheels. During the operation, pay attention to control
the grader's traveling direction, make it travel along the marked line, so as to
ensure a correct position of the ditch.
● Deepening operation
After demarking operation, deepening operation is followed by earth
shoveling and earth moving. For each shoveling operation, move a proper
distance towards inner direction, so as to leave a step with certain width. The
width for the step lift should not be less than the cutting depth every time, so as to
make the operation for every cut meet the designed lateral slope line. During
operation, the grader traveling at I gear, lower blade front edge and lift up the rear
edge. The correct position for the blade shall make the rigid of every cutting
operation in the inner side of the rear wheel, thus to ensure a stable traveling of

the grader. Adjust the cutting depth all the time according to the change of
shoveling resistance, but not to make too big adjustment to avoid forming "wave"
to affect the operation next time. Try to keep the cutting depth and width of every
operation the more similar the better, and the last shoveling operation should meet
the overall depth and width of the ditch. Normally, for each cutting operation, it is
required to perform earth-moving operation according to soil texture and the size
of rigid. Pull the blade 10-20cm out of the rigid, and make the rigid caused by
earth-moving operation at the outer side of the rear wheel. What is more, keep the
front wheel in proper inclining towards the inner side of the ditch during every
shoveling and earth-moving operation, so as to maintain the grader's stability and
an easy traveling control.
● Trimming operation
Trimming operation is mainly applied for outer lateral slope trimming after
the ditch being dug to its total depth. During the operation, according to the
topography, you can put the grader on both sides of the ditch, and shovel the earth
to the outer edge of the ditch, or use the blade rear edge to shovel earth in the
ditch, and then clear the earth out. If it is limited by the topography, you can pull
the blade from one side, and make it inclining to one side of the grader. Then you
can drive the grader along the ditch, cut the earth in the ditch and later move out
the earth.
● Slope scrapping operation
Slope scrapping operation is mainly applied for scrapping lateral slope of
25°C-70°C, 3-4m height. Before operation, adjust the blade to one side of the
machine by blade laterally pulling and inclining, and then put the blade upper
edge forward, traveling forward at I gear, and lower the blade for shoveling earth.
While operating, adjust slope-scrapping height by rotating revolving ring or
moving blade, to lift up or lower the blade so as to adjust scrapping slope. In order
to improve the stability of the grader’s operation, incline the front wheel towards
the direction of the lateral slope.
In order to improve operating efficiency, it is better to have two graders
working together, using the one without blade laterally being pulled out to level

the road base surface, the other to scrap the earth on lateral slope.
8. Suggestions on operating the grader:
The grader is competent at the following job: clearing foundation. fine
fishing operation, slope scrapping, reshaping, mixed paving, material collecting
and ramming, scrapping snow ice etc.
(i) The articulated steering greatly reduces the turning radius of the grader.
This has made the machine to be able to have even more flexible operation, the
machine can operate in "crab walking" which makes the blade to be able to extend
from the outside of the rear wheel, so as to avoid the rear wheel from traveling on
the leveled ground. The articulated steering also improves the machine's ability of
helping itself in difficult circumstance.
(ii) One of the most important factors for the grader's optimum efficiency is
to select a proper blade rotary angle and blade angle. It is suggested to adopt with
a bigger rotary angle, since the bigger the blade rotary angle is. the higher, the
shoveling pressure on the working length (per centimeter) will be. During
shoveling operation, a small blade angle can reduce cutting resistance, while a big
blade angle can improve leveling precision and mixing efficiency.
(iii) Front wheel should incline towards material flowing direction. When
operating on an inclining slope, if the front wheels are on plumb position, a better
adhesion can be achieved with the front wheel's inclining.
(iv) Without changing blade operation height, it will extend the blade by
operating blade lead-out device.
(v) The machine is not suitable to work underground or poor ventilated
environment, since it has a direct-injection engine. The waste gas from the engine
cannot be specially screened completely in the a.m. condition.
Parking
1. Step for Parking
● Release the throttle pedal, and step on braking pedal till the machine stopping,
place the speed control stick in neutral position.
● The machine stops completely. Press down the hand- braking switch and have

it engaged.
● Lower the blade to ground.
● Position the machine on the flat ground where there is no falling stone, slope
or not in risk of suffering floods. It is necessary, the machine can be parked
temporarily on the slope ground, for which place a wedge under the wheels to
prevent the machine moving.
2. Steps for Stopping the Engine
Don’t stop the engine immediately after parking. Before stopping the engine,
make the engine run in idle for 5 minutes to cool down thoroughly. Turn the key
switch to “0” position to stop the engine, switch off the main power to break off
the circuit, Remove the key and keep it well.
3. Leaving from the Machine
● When coming down form the machine, use ladder or handrail, facing the
machine. It is now allowed to jump from the machine directly.
● Check if there is any building-up of dusts or small pellets. If it is the case,
clean it timely to prevent the risk of fire.
● Clean away all combustible materials around the machine to avoid the risk of
fire.
● Lock the door and windows, and pull out the key.
4. Instructions to be followed after finishing work everyday
● Check the fuel level.
● Check the engine oil level and its clearness. If it is found that the engine oil
level is too high or gets thin, find out the cause and remedy it.
● Check if there is any leakage on oil pipelines, water pipelines, air pipelines and
every component.
● Check the state of fastening and sealing for gearbox, torque converter,
hydraulic pump, steering device and driving axle, and also check if these parts
get overheated.
● Check if the mounting screws on hub, transmission shaft and bearing get loose.
● Check if all working mechanism could work properly.
● Check the appearance of tyres and its pressure.

● Apply grease to lubricating nipples as instructed.

● Clean away the dust and other contamination built-up on the machine and
inside the bucket.

 Switch on the power switch, turn the wind switch to “H” position.
 Switch on the temperature switch to most position (the indicating lamp is
shinning).
 The air-condition is refrigerating air, after temperature is comfortable, turn the
temperature till the indicating lamp goes out.
 Make adjustment on the switch for wind (3-gear, after temperature is

comfortable, turn the wind switch to M or L gear).

 Adjust the wind direction.
(2) Calefaction
 Startup the engine
 Open up the water valve
 Switch on the power switch
 Make adjustment on the switch for wind
Attention: close up the calefaction water valve when it refrigerates air in
summer; and close up the refrigerating temperature switch when it calefies air in
winter.
Usage of extinguisher
The extinguisher is positioned at the right side after operator seat inside
operation cab. In case of fire risk, take the following steps:
 Stop the engine.
 Shut off the main power switch.
 Use extinguisher to put out a fire.
 Avoid fire extending.
 Ask for help.
Use extinguisher to put out a fire:
 Take down fire extinguisher from bracket.
 Remove the safety pin.
 Hold extinguisher tightly with its muzzle facing a fire.
 Put down the shaft of extinguisher in order to put out of a fire. Once the fire
being put out, please stop using extinguisher.
 Recharge and maintain the extinguisher after every time using. Only qualified
personnel can maintain it.
 It is definitely prohibited to maintain during using extinguisher.
Operation in Cold Weather

Instruction to be followed in low temperature
If the temperature is too low, it is difficult to start the engine and radiator

may also be frozen. So observe the following guidelines:

 All components should use fuel, hydraulic oil and lubricant with low viscosity.
Add anti-freeze addition into the cooling water. Please refer to oil list for
detailed oil trademark.
 Precautions when using anti-freeze addition:
Note: Keep antifreeze away from fire, and no smoking when

using anti-freeze.
 Do not use the anti-freeze addition with methanol, ethanol and proper alcohol.
 Do not use any anti-leakage addition, regardless it is used along or together
with anti-freeze.
 Do not use mixed anti-freeze addition with different trademarks.
 When replacing the anti-freeze addition, please refer to explanations about the
proportion on the anti-freeze addition usage. Look the sign at the back of the
machine.
 When the temperature around drops, the capacity of battery may also drop. If
the charging ratio of battery is low, the electrolyte may be frozen. So try
keeping the charging ratio at 100% and preserving its heat, then the engine
may be easy to start in the next day only in this way.
 If the battery gets frozen, do not recharge it or start up the engine. What
should be done is to warm it up to 15°C . Otherwise, there will be a risk of
explosion.
 In the high-cold area, be sure to use cold-proof battery.
Instruction After Finishing Daily Work
To prevent the frozen mud, water or snow from affecting the engine starting
in the next day. Be sure to take up the following steps:
 Clean up the mud, water and snow on the machine completely to prevent the
frozen mud, water or snow in the sealed area from despairing the airproof
performance.
 Park the machine on the dry and solid ground. If it is impossible, park the
machine on the wood board. Using wood board may prevent the machine

from freezing on the ground and may make it easy to start the machine in the
next day.
 Open the discharging valves, discharge water in the water tank, engine,
evaporator of air-conditioner and relative pipelines to prevent it from freezing.
 In the low temperature, with the dramatic decreasing of battery capacity, be
sure to cover the battery or move it to the warm area, and assemble it again for
the next day operation.
After Cold Weather
When season changes or it gets warm, be sure to take up the following
work:
All components now should use fuel, hydraulic oil and lubricant with half
viscosity. If you did not use permanent anti-freezing addition, be sure to discharge
all water in the radiating system, to wash the radiating system and to replace new
cooling water.
Working in closed jobsite
 If you have to work in an indoor or underground space or in an area with poor
ventilation facility for driving the machine, handling fuel, cleaning parts or
paints, it is necessary to open the window and the door, so as to ensure
sufficient ventilation and avoid gas poison. If there is still not sufficient
ventilation with the door and windows being open, then a ventilating fan
should be provided.
 It is necessary to equip the extinguisher and bear in mind its location and
using way before working in closed jobsite.
V. Operation And Maintenance for gearbox
Preparation Work and Maintenance before Driving
On the one hand, the oil in gearbox may be used as working medium
hydraulic system in torque converter and gearbox; on the other hand, it also my be
used as cooling and lubrication to the components in torque converter and
gearbox. The quantity and trademark of oil used in the gearbox should be added
according to regulations.
Before gearbox runs, add adequate lubricant with proper trademark. If it is the

first time to oil the gearbox, be sure to take the oil consumption in radiator, filter
and pipelines into consideration. After oiling the machine for the first time, the
lubricant shall seep into every corner of the system. So, the first oil quantity
should be larger than next oiling quantity during maintenance.
After the torque converter and oil-radiator are fitted on the machine, the oil
can flow back to the bottom of gearbox through pipeline. So when the machine
stops work and the engine is still running at a low speed, in order to keep the
gearbox in balanced temperature required for regular work, be sure to control the
oil level in the gearbox.
When checking the oil level, be careful about safety. For example: Must
place the machine on the flat ground, put gear-shifting handle on neutral and
lock it, put hand-brake switch on "Off" position to prevent machine from
moving.
During checking the oil level, when the oil temperature is 80 ° C, the oil
level in the gearbox must reach the highest line on the dipstick scale ; when the oil
temperature is up to 40°C the oil level in the gearbox must reach the lowest
line on the dipstick scale. During this process, try inserting the dipstick into the oil
pipe until it cannot insert further anymore.
When cleaning the oil filter in the main oil pipeline, do not let the
contaminated remains and grease、 enter the pipeline. Besides, be sure to place a
cover to prevent the oil from entering the parking brake.
When fitting the oil filter, do not apply too much strength.
Check oil position before traveling, it should be guaranteed to check once
daily.
Travel And Gear-Shifting
Before starting the engine, be sure to put the gear-shifting handle on neutral
position.
In view of safety, be sure the parking brake is in braking status, so the
machine couldn’t be start when start engine.
After starting the engine, press emergency and parking brake switch, choose
driving direction and corresponding gear, step on the accelerator pedal, then you

can drive the machine.

When the machine is running at a nicer road, you can also drive it at
high speed.
If the machine has been stopped while the engine is still running, and the
gearbox is still in gear. At this time the machine may crawl on a flat road, because
the engine that is idling may generate little power through torque converter. So, be
sure to put emergency and parking brake switch on "Off" position when parking
the machine.
If you intend to part the machine for a long time, you should put control
handle to neutral position.
Before the machine sets out, be sure to cancel the parking brake, namely
press emergency and parking brake switch.
It must be point out that: when the high-speed gear is changed into
low-speed gear, the engine rotation speed may quicken due to torque low speed
gear, the engine rotation speed may quicken due to torque converter, especially
jumping over a gear. So, if it is possible, be sure to use foot brake to slow it down
and shift gears when you intend to change high-speed gear into low-speed gear.
If you intend to change driving direction when the machine is running at a
high speed, be sure to slow down the engine rotation speed.
Oil Temperature
The oil temperature inside the gearbox should be checked by means of
temperature sensor.
The temperature for oil output from torque converter should not be over
120 °C. In normal, the temperature at the torque converter outlet is 80-110°C,
but when the torque converter being heavily loaded, it is allowed that the
temperature may increase rapidly up to 120 ° C for a short time. If the
temperature is beyond this limit, you must stop the machine and check if there is
any leakage on all pipelines. And at the same time, change the gearbox gear to
idle gear and make the engine run in the rotation speed of 1200-1500rpm. Then
afterwards, the oil temperature will decrease quickly to normal value (about
within 2-3 minutes). If the oil temperature does not decrease, then it means that

there must be some problems somewhere. So you must find out the problem and
fix it before attempting to drive the machine again.
Oil pressure
When checking, the normal range of oil pressure for shifting gears is
l.3-1.8MPa.

Precautions:
 Oil is required to be clean. The diesel oil must pass through 72-hour
deposition.
 Oil injector and oil positions must be clean and prevent water contaminated
entering into oil.
 When checking oil quantity, the machine must be kept in a level state.
 Every kind of oil can't be mixed and substituted. Abide strictly by tabulation
of oil trademark.
 After filling oil or changing oil, must check to see if there is any oil leakage.
Note: When checking or replacing oil or cooling liquid, care should be taken to
avoid scald.
Process for Filling Oil

Filling Oil to Hydraulic Oil Tank
1.Check oil level:
Check the oil dipstick in oil tank. The oil surface should be kept above the
middle scale of dipstick. When it is not enough, please replenish with oil.
Note: When checking oil level, the blade should be positioned on the
ground in level state, and the engine stops running.
2. Replacing with new oil:
Take following steps:
 Place the blade on the ground.
 Extinguish the engine.
 Loosen the bolt at the bottom of the tank, and drain the oil to a container. After
all the oil drained out, screw and tighten the nut.
 Open the filter; add filtered hydraulic oil until the oil level is up to the middle
of the glass observer.
 Install the filter cover.

 Start the Engine and operate all working mechanism and all joysticks and
move all the control levers to its max. position so as to fully fill in hydraulic
oil to hydraulic system and bleed out all air
 Add more oil to filter port if necessary until the oil level is up to the middle of
the glass observer.
3. When replace、clean the filter core or maintain system, you need screw off the
cover of the filter, now the auto-block valve will block off the oil circuit so as to
the oil in the tank could not pour.
Filling Oil to Fuel Tank
● Check fuel level
There is a specific fuel gauge on the control panel. Switch on the power key.
The gauge pointer must be kept over 1/10 scale.
● Discharging contaminated remains
Drain off water and contaminated remains inside the tank from the drainage
flange at the bottom. And then clean the fuel filling plug and fuel filter. Replace
the filter if it gets worn.
● Put the oil-suction pipe into oil container, and then switch on the oil-feeding
pump to fill in oil.
Filling Oil for gearbox
(1) Oil Variety
It is must to use specified oil for gearbox.
We recommend using SAE15W-40 lubricants with the quality lever not lower
than-API CD/CE/CF/SF/SG or-MIL-L-46152C/-D/-E.
(2) Oil level checking
 Place Grader horizontally.
 Put the shift gears at idle.
 At the working temperature range
 Let the engine rotate unload.
 Loose dipstick anti-clockwise, and put out dipstick. Then clean it.
 After inserting dipstick into oil tube screw it tightly, then put dipstick (at least
twice)

 When temperature is 40 ° C, Oil level should be between the lower and

middle tick mark.
 When temperature is 80 ° C, Oil level should be between the upper and
middle tick mark.
The aim of checking cool oil level is guarantee gearbox and torque enough
oil. Heat oil level is fast criterion of oil level.
(3) Oil Changing And Oil Adding
After the machine has been used for first 100 working hours, it is a Must
to make first-time oil changing. After this, oil changing should be carried out
every 1000 working hours or every year!
Instruction to be followed when making oil changing:
 Park the machine on a flat area, with the gearbox being in its working
temperature. Take out the oil-draining plug and sealing ring to drain out old
oil.
Note: When draining oil. Not only drain off all oil from the gearbox, but also
drain off all oil from torque converter and radiator.
 Clean the draining plug and oil-pan surface, and then fix them on again with
new sealing ring.
 Replenish with new oil as required in terms of oil type and quantity.
It is necessary to remind: Use clean oil and oil filter for the gearbox. And at
any case, the oil level must be at right scale of oil dipstick.
 Start up the engine, and let it run at idle speed.
 Put the gear-shifting control handle on neutral position.
 Add oil till to the upper scale of "cold" oil area.
 Parking brake should be at safe position.
 Engage every gear one time.
 Check the oil level again. If necessary, re-fill oil again.
(4). Replacing Oil Filter
Every time you change the oil. You also need to change the oil filter. It is not
allowed to use broken oil filter！
When mounting oil filter, the following steps should be respected:

 Coat thin oil upon the sealing ring.

 Press in oil filter till it touches with the sealing surface of the speeder, and
then tighten it by turning 1/3 or 1/2 turn.
 Fill with oil.
 Start the engine.
 Check the oil level when the engine running at idle speed and the gearbox
being in working temperature value.
 Check if the filter has been tightened. If necessary, re-tight it again by hand.
(5) Notes
 When it needs to make repairing by welding for the machine with problems,
be sure to disconnect the wires of speeder NC box which is located on the
right side of operator (The box is fixed inside the control cabin which is
located on the right side of operator seat.). Otherwise, the shock current
caused during welding will burn off the speeder NC box.
 When mounting or dismounting the engine and the speeder assembly, or when
hoisting the speeder assembly, take care not to drop down the torque
converter.
 It is prohibited to unqualified personnel to open the speeder NC box. Don't
mount or dismount the cable connection board for the speeder NC box, when
the power is still on. Such operation must be done only after the power is off.
 After finishing repairing, please re-connect the speeder NC box to its original
position as required. Otherwise the machine could not be started up and
driven.
Tips: Please change the fine filter every time with the change of oil, and install
the filter according to following requirements:
1. Coat a layer of oil on the seal ring.
2. Tighten the filter till the filter contacts with the sealing surface, the screw
up 1/3 round to 1/2 round by hand.
3. Check the leakage. If necessary, tighten again by hand.

Filling Oil for Rear Axle

(1) Check oil level
Unscrew the oil-filling plug on driving axle housing. If it is found the oil
surface is up to the plug edge, then it is ok and sufficient. If not, please replenish
with oil.
(2) Replacing with new oil
☆ Discharge the old lubricating oil from the drainage plug respectively on the
driving axle and the hub reducer. (Such operation should be done only when
the oil being arm).
☆ Unscrew the oil filling (checking) plugs on the hub reducer on both sides, and
also unscrew the oil-filling (checking) plug on the driving axle. Fill in will
there is oil flowing out from the plug of the driving axle. And it will be all
right if there is oil flowing out from inspection area of the hub reducer (at this
time the arrow sign on the hub reducer should point downward. and the
inspection area just locates on the end of the arrow sign.) After that, put on
the plugs and tighten them.
Filling Oil for the Engine

(1) Check oil level
☆ Take out the oil dipstick, clean and dry it. And then insert it into. After this
take it out again for checking.
☆ And the oil level is all right if the oil surface lies between upper and lower
scale of the dipstick. If the oil level is bellowing the lower scale, replenish it
with oil till the upper level.
☆ Checking oil level can only be implemented before making any work or after
the engine stops running for about 15 minutes
☆ Double check cleanness of the oil. If it is found that the oil is over polluted,
replace it completely with new oil.
(2) Replace with new oil
☆ Discharge the polluted oil from the drainage plug at the bottom of oil pan of

the engine. Fill in with new oil from oil filling plug till the oil level up to the
upper scale of dipstick.
☆ After making the engine run at low speed, stop the engine and re-check the oil
level. If the oil level is not enough, replenish with oil till upper scale of
dipstick.
☆ When filling in oil, care should be taken to keep the oil level not beyond the
upper scale.
☆ Replacing with new oil for the engine can only be done when the engine is till
hot.
Rotating blade worm gear box

① Oil level checking
 Rotating blade worm gear box to place it horizontally
 Oil level (tiptop) shall be in the middle of the observer hole. Refill more
oil to the port if necessary.
② Oil change
 The blade shall incline to the side of the oil plug and support on the
ground, so as to let the oil draining quicker.
 Remove the drain plug to drain oil into a container. You can remove the filling
plug to expedite drain.
 Clean the plug and screw it with new sealing ring and fasten it
 Place the blade horizontal with blade up-down cylinder
 Replenish oil to the level as required (up to the middle position of lipstick)
 Clean the oil plug and screw it after changing with a new sealing ring.
Balancing box
① Oil level checking
 Oil level should be in the middle of the indicator, i.e. the highest oil level.
 Removing the ventilation breather, refill with more oil if necessary
② oil Change
● Remove the oil plugs (two plugs for each box) to drain the oil into a container
until the box is empty.

 Clean the oil plug and screw it on with a new sealing ring.
 Take out the ventilation breather, and refill with new oil until the oil level
is up to the middle of the oil level indicator, i.e. oil tiptop.
 Refit the ventilation breather and fasten it.
Cooling fluid supplying
50% anti-freezing fluid is used as cooling fluid for the engine. When air
temperature is lower -37 ° C .The concentration should be boost to 60% and
adjusted according to the maintenance manual.
(1)Water supplying
☆ When the cooling water for the engine gets overheated, firstly check the water
level, if necessary. Fill in more water. And at the same time. Also check if the
radiator element has been blocked and if the hose has been worn out. Be sure
to put the radiator cover tightly to prevent cooling water evaporating.
☆ Replacing cooling water for radiator should be done only after the radiator
being in cold state. So firstly open the radiator cover, then open the drainage
valve at the bottom of radiator to flow out the cooling water completely.
☆ After the water being replaced, start the engine to let water level be a little bit
lower. After that stop the engine, and refill Water again.
When the engine just stopped or during the engine running, it is not
allowed to open the radiator housing. And it will be very dangerous if the
hot water splashing out.
(2)Precautions Items
☆ During the hot weather with temperature up to 30°C, since the engine will
easily get hot, so it is better to park the machine in shading area.
☆ After work finished, in order to prolong the service lift of engine, have the
engine run at low speed for 5 minutes Only after the water temperature gets
lower, then can you stop the engine.
☆ The freezing point of anti-freezing addition should be lower 10°C than the
lowest temperature of the local area.

☆ The anti-freezing addition should be replaced every year.

Instructions of Lubrication System
The lubricating system is single-line system, configured with 603S pump driven
by 24V DC motor with capacity to pumping NLGI2# grease under -40℃-70℃,
the maximum pressure is 30MPa.
The maximum operation time of the pump is 20 mins.

The injection time interval can be customized by user in accordance with the
actual conditions.The minimum interval is 4 mins, maximum is 59hours and 59
mins. Refer to following for detailed instructions:
● Press key 2 and 3 in the meantime for more than 4s until P1 is indicated on the
display, the release key 2 and 3, hour value setting is accessible. Setup in one
direction within the range from 0 to 59 hours. Press key 3 once to add one
hour every time, repeat the actions to increase until the expected time interval
value is reached.
● Press key 2 until P2 is indicated on the display, then release key 1, minute
value setting is accessible. Setup in one direction within the range from 0 to
59 mins. Press key 3 once to add one minute every time, repeat the actions to
increase until the expected time interval value is reached.
● Press key 2 once to use default setting every time until P7 is indicated, then
release key 2, pressure value setting is accessible. Setup in one direction
within the range from 1 to 32MPa. Press key 3 once to add 1MPa every time.
As the maximum pressure of the pump is 30MPa and default value is 18MPa,

it is recommended not to changeto prevent problems including over high

pressure.
● Press key 2 until P- is indicated on the display, then press key 3 to save the
setting values.
The indication of LL on the display means the oil level is low.
The indication of E1 on the display means there is no preset internal pressure P1
within the monitor time (max. 20 mins).
The indication of E2 on the display means there is no either preset pressure P1 or
P2 within the monitor time (max. 20 mins).
The indication of E3 on the display means the internal pressure P1 is high.
The indication of E4 on the display means the external pressure P2 is high.
Operations：
1. Automatic operation: The lubrication system will be operating automatically
without time interval setting when the power is turned on.
2. Manual forced operation:
● Refer to Figure 2, press key 3 for more than 2s to force the system to operate
for one time.
● Press the lubrication button inside driving cabin for more than 2s to force the
system to operate for one time.
The operating pressure is 14MPa - 30MPa, and the maximum releasing pressure
is 6MPa of the QSL oil injector.

Recommendations:
1. As the filling capacity of lubrication system is limited, it is recommended to

use grease gun to refill for areas requiring large quantity of oil including rotary
pivoting support, front axle hub, etc.
2. It is recommended to lubricate manually on regular basis for some rotary parts
and components, including angular position indicator, shoveling angle switching
cylinder, shovel blade extension cylinder, transmission shaft, etc. as they have no
proper lubricating points which are limited by rotation.
3. It is recommended to conduct regular inspections on the abrasion and
connection of lubricating pipelines, as well as the condition of lubricating points.

Inspection And Maintenance

The machine could not work in high performance if without the regulator
inspection and maintenance. It is totally wrong to take it for granted the machine
can work properly, without needing service and maintenance.
Correct inspection and maintenance will not only prolong the service lift of
the machine, but also help find problems earlier, so as to remedy them earlier,
which, being as the result, will reduce the time and cost for later service and
maintenance.
Checking And Maintenance Before Working
 Check water level inside the radiator
 Check oil level for the engine tank.
 Check liquid level in fuel tank. Hydraulic oil tank and the speeder.
 Check airproof state of every oil pipeline, water pipeline, air pipeline and
their components.
 Check if foot- braking and hand braking could work properly.
 Check if all control sticks could work freely and if they are in Neutral
position.
 Check if pneumatic pressure for tyres are correct or not (3bar).
 Check if all mounting screws on hub, axle and transmission shaft get loose.
Checking And Maintenance After Work Finished
 Check fuel level.
 Check engine tank oil level and its cleanness, if it is found that the oil level is
too high or oil gets thin, find out the reason and get it remedied.
 Check if there is any leakage from oil pipelines, water pipelines and air
pipelines
 Check the mounting tightness for the speeder, torque converter, hydraulic
pump, driving axle and braking device. And also check airproof state for these
parts and if they are overheated.
 Check if all the mounting screws on hub, axle and transmission shaft get
loose.
 When the air temperature is below 0°C, discharge the cooling water off.

(Cooling water with anti-freezing addition is exceptional.)

 Apply grease to every lubricating nipple as scheduled.
The checking and maintenance for the machine should be done properly. And
care should be taken to prevent accident and injury happening. During checking,
mark a sign on the place with problem and get the entire problem remedied after
all checking finished
Making fire and smoking is strictly prohibited when making checking and
maintenance. And fire extinguisher should also be prepared
Regular Checking And Maintenance
Proper lubrication and maintenance can ensure the machine to work without
problem with long service life. Since working duration of the machine is
prolonged and its working cost is reduced, so the time and cost to be needed for
regular maintenance and service can be greatly reduce.
The duration interval and maintenance scope should be adjusted according to

different environment where the machine is used, such as: high temperature,
high damp, low temperature, more dust and high elevation. In case you have
any doubt, please consult with Xuzhou Xugong Road Construction
Machinery Co.,Ltd. or its dealers.
The duration interval for regular checking and maintenance is divided into:
50 working hours, 100 working hours, 250 working hours 500 working hours,
1000 working hours and 2000 working hours.
● Maintenance for Every 50 Working Hours
☆ Fasten the mounting screws on transmission shaft, hub
☆ Check the control system for throttle, hand braking and gear-shifting.
☆ Clean out uncover surface and athletic surface. Apply grease to chassis
articulation pins, transmission shaft, rear axle supports and steering pins.
● Maintenance for Every 100 Working Hours, at the same time, carry out

belt is about 10 mm. After adjustment, fixing bolts must be tightly fastened.

ChapterⅤ Transportation, storage and protection

(1) Transportation
Transportation: stepping transportation and loading transportation.
a) Stepping transportation
1 The distance of stepping: commonly under 100 km
2 The distance of vehicle: between 30 m and 50 m.
3 During the long travling, the machine must be stoped for about 30
minutes after 40km (25mi) or 1 hour travling, in order to cool the tyres
and other parts.
b) Loading regulation:
1 Loading sizes: under 4.5 m from ground to the top of Grader.
2 Loading means: proper motion loading in normally case, suspending
loading in especially case.
 Proper motion loading:
The ground must be flat and have enough space about 10 m the back of
conveyance that can adjust Grader direction. After stopping conveyance, backing
tow truck. Grader step on conveyance, then brake, and fasten Grader to
conveyance.
 Suspending loading (fig. 12)
Suspending loading note:
 Shutting engine, pull out the key after loading equipment.
 Lock frond and rear frame by a bacilliform lock.
 When suspend Grader, cord must through suspending hook.
 Frond frame has one suspending hook and rear frame has two on left and right
sides. Can’t suspend Grader only by one side or intercross hook.
 Suspending tool require: A flying rings must have three same length

(1) Traction
● Take up the traction rod at rear mate-weight, pull on the rope for traction and
put down the traction rod to original position.
Pay attention to this when doing traction
1. Rope for traction must have been pulled on.
2. Be sure the braking system of vehicle being dragged is in gear; otherwise don’t
do this job.
3. If vehicle in trouble is dragged on the bad road. it will be farther destroyed.
4. It just applies for dragging vehicle in trouble to check point, not for far traction.
NOTE: loading and unloading carefully.

Don’t let anybody and vehicle enter the area under suspending
vehicle. Especially notice: please avoid destroying hydraulic tube
during transportation.

5. When our product is in trouble, please consult local XCMG dealer for traction
process.
Not to drag the machine unless in exigency. Do process as follow when
dragging.
1. It needs to fill in blocks below wheels when braking system is on the fly. It will
prevent the machine from moving suddenly.
2. Put off hand brake when dragging, control the speed within 10km/h and
distance not over 10km. Try to drag the machine to nearest check point. You
should use export trailer if it need to move the grader for far way.
● Check whether the dragrope or traction rod is strong enough to support the
weight of vehicle being dragging. If the vehicle would pass mud or slope, it
need two dragrope and one traction rod that can support 1.5 multiple weight at
lease.
(2). Storage
Before Storing
If a grader needs to be stored for a long time, take the following steps:
 Clean thoroughly the machine, have it be dry and store it in dry storage house.
If the machine has to be stored under open air, then it should be stored on the
concrete ground where it is easy to drain off water, and cover it with canvas.
 Before storing it, fill up the fuel tank, add grease and change hydraulic oil.
 Coat thin grease on the piston that extends out from hydraulic cylinder.
 Dismount the negative pole of battery and close the battery box cover. Or
remove the battery from the machine and store it separately.
 If the air temperature falls down below 0°C, add anti-freezing addition into
cooling water of the radiator.
 Put on the security lock and then lock articulation locking-bar. After that
engage the parking brake.
During Storage
● Daily Parking
Park the grader on a place, with its blade resting on the ground horizontally.
Try your best to keep the grader inside a dry storage, and moisture must be

avoided. If, because of condition

☆ Limitation, the machine has to be kept outside, a shelter cloth must be used to
cover it.
☆ Turn the ignition switch to "OFF" position, plug out the key and keep it in a
safe place.
☆ After the ignition key being plugged out. Operate slowly the control levers of
the working mechanism for 2 to 3 times, so as to release the remained
pressure inside the cylinders and hoses, and then leave them at their neutral
positions.
☆ Place the gear-shifting lever at neutral position, and the parking brake must be
engaged.
☆ Lock the front and rear frame with the lock bar.
☆ Lock all the parts that have locking key. Pull out the keys and keep them
safely.
☆ In winter or cold weather ( when the environmental temperature below 0°C ),
anti-freezing addition must be applied into the cooling water. Cooling water
must be drained out completely for those machines without anti-freezing
addition in the cooling system, so that the engine can be protected from being
cracked by ice.
● Long Time Storage
The storage period for the machine can be short-term and long-term. For
short-term, the storage period should not be over two months Over two months
must be taken as a long -term storage. The parking place for storage should be
sheltered, ventilated and dry and without any corrosive substances or gas. Before
storage, the exposed parts such as cylinder pistons and shaft should be greased for
anti-corrosion. And before long -term storage, the surfaces on the machine should
also be sprayed with wax to avoid being rusted.
Within one month:
Beside those mentioned in the Daily Parking, the following procedures must
be noted:
☆ Start and drive the machine every week, and operate its working mechanism

to let it be ready for work at any time.

Over one month:
Except those mentioned in Daily Parking, the following procedures must
also be noted.
☆ Check all the oil levels and lubricating points to see if the oil being in the
level as required.
☆ Considering the raining season, try your best to park the machine on a hard
ground of a higher place.
☆ The battery must be removed.
Although the machine is stored indoor, if it is too hot or damp, the battery
must be dismounted to get it stored in a better place, and charge it once a week.
☆ Parts which moisture can easily get in (such as: ventilating device and air
filter) should be covered with a cloth.
☆ The inflation pressure of the tyres must be standard. Check the wear and
damage of the tyres.
In order to release the heavy load on the tyres, it is better to jack up the
machine to let it be in float state.
If the grader can't be jacked up, the inflation of the tyres must be checked
every two weeks to ensure the pressure.
☆ Restore the machine into ready-work condition each week. Start the engine
and let it warm up, and then move the machine back and forth a little bit. If
you thank it is necessary to activate the working mechanism, before you do it,
the grease on the cylinder rods must be cleaned away. And after such attempt,
apply grease to cylinder rods again.
Notes
In case the anti-rusting substance is used to avoid rust indoor, then
door and windows must be opened to keep poison gas away.
After a long Time Storage

 Move away all the protection coverings.

 Clean away the anti-rust grease on the exposed parts.

 Drain out the oil inside the engine, gearbox and driving axle, and then wash
them and refill with new oil.
 Drain out the debris and water from hydraulic oil tank and fuel tank.
 Dismantle the pneumatic cylinder of the engine, and lubricate the valve and
rocker shaft. And check the working of each valve.
 Fill the radiator with cooling water to the standard level.
 Charge the battery again and connect it to the wires.
 Adjust the inflation pressure of the tyres in accordance with the road condition.
 Follow the checking procedures before operation.
 Warn up engine.
 Apply the grease to lubricating nipples.

Notice of tyre storage:

● Tire must be deposited in storehouse, without permissive man can't enter. If
you must conserve tyre outdoors, please hang sign “prohibition enter” out of
fencing.
 Storehouse must is dryness, cleanness, because water will accelerate rubber
oxidation; filth and oil will corrupt tyre. We should to let tyre avoiding light,
heat and ventilation. Incorrect storage will influence seriously the quality and
usage lift of tyre.
 Let tyre stand on ground and tighten it by stopper. If the side face of tyre
contact ground, it will be staved and influence it’s quality.
