Q1 Read the passage:


There are several beliefs and traditions associated with a group of people living
many centuries ago or with the history of an event. These sets of beliefs,
traditions and events are passed on from one generation to another in the form of
stories. These xx stories are called methodologies. Mythological characters are
larger than life and their actions often impart moral lessons .Supernatural beings
and fantastical phenomena are commonplace in this genre. These mythological
characters, through friction, have entered our life in unique ways.

You must have seen the portrait of a stopped man sitting on his knees and
carrying the world on his shoulders. He is Atlas, a mythological character .In
Greek mythology there once existed a Titan named Atlas who had enormous
strength .He took part in a battle against God Zeus and faced defeat .As a
consequence he was punished with the task of carrying the Earth on a shoulder
forever and a day.
Much much later this association of the man with the earth resulted in the
collection of maps been called an Atlas you must be using Atlas as reference
book for understand in geography lessons Atlas are also used by cartographer or
by those who wish to improve their general knowledge about the world these
books are also feature statistical information about the culture religion climate
and people of a particular region.
