Grievance Description

-----------------------
Sairam, approximately 20 kids are treated for scabies in primary school in last 3 weeks as told by a govt hospital doctor to me today
on request. Primary school did not dutifully announce in their media channels or website to parents in a timely manner, for whatever
reasons (lack of staff or ignorance of medical knowledge etc) but were the contacts known and fully treated we are not sure. so how
will the scabies mite die and how can we eradicate the disease? The old teachers think it is a heat wave skin problem and despite
told the HM and few teachers this is classical scabies as a causative factor is Mites, Heatwave for 1 month is only a contributory
factor. I have asked 7 local chemists and 4 local drs and total they have sales of 40 soaps and Permethrin lotion/cream and
prescription issued locally. So this is a small outbreak at this stage but can spread quickly as it is highly contagious as per WHO. Also
the eggs mature and break after 4 weeks so more will be infected in summer vacation and this can potentially spread in other states
as well. So I hereby request govt to take action quicky to control this outbreak. Educate, make awareness in radio and TV (election
time ) and social media posts etc request affected kids, parents and contacts to take treatment for 2 weeks . Wash linens and clothes
in 60* C heat seperately. I checked websites and both are down and not working Srisathyasai dot gov dot in and dh dot ap dot nic
dot in , so can govt fix this asap in public interest or be deemed guilty of negligence as imagine an innocent child scratching
intensely his/her skin and gettin sores and unable to sleep or focus or study and in distress, not getting full time carer to take to dr
or to put skin ointment or lotion or give syrup and do proper bath with peritop soap? if this is your child how will you feel? so i am
requesting you to conduct screening camps and ask school to maintain & publish online a register of health issues with date
diagnosis and treatment .
