Modern Times
The booming world population during the nineteenth century onwards demanded that more
goods be produced at a faster rate. People needed effeciet means of transfortation to trade more
goods and cover a larger distance. Machines that required animals to operate must thus be
upgraded. Faster and esier means to communicate and compute should developed to establish
connections between and among nations.
Calculator
Calculations are present in our daily life and are necessary for many things: commerce,
accounting for private companies, collecting taxes, statistics in the research field, drawing
buildings plans, etc. The world would not function in the same way without mathematics and
humans have always been looking for new ways to optimize calculation processes to respond to
this need.
How it shape human history? At the earlier time people have intnded to do thier calculation
by mannual and by using some things to do the calculation but sine the invention in modern times
it makes the people to do the calculating ina easier way.
How it works? The operations of electronic calculators are performed by integrated
circuits—tiny arrays of thousands, or even millions, of transistors. These circuits contain
permanent instructions for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and (in more advanced
calculators) other functions.
Purpose and use of calculator- although an earlier version of the calculator had already
been developed. Circumstances in the modern times required a faster way to compute more
complicated equation. Computing device must also be easy to carry since they would be utilized
on a day-to-day basis.
The Impact of calculator human and society- Calculator Using a calculator can save time,
increase accuracy, improve efficiency, and simplify complex calculations. It is especially critical
for financial planning and can enhance learning by allowing students to focus on the underlying
concepts.May 17,
Petoleum Refinery-
How this development shape human history? the modern times demanded better means od
powering homes and transportation.at first people used animal oils for generating light to
illumunating their homes however the proction of animal oils could not keep up with the demand
of the people.
How it works? The refining process begins with crude oil.Crude oil is unrefined liquid
petroleum. Crude oil is composed of thousands of different chemical compounds called
hydrocarbons, with an infrastructure of pipelines, refineries, and transportation systems - enables
crude oil to be transformed into useful and affordable products.
As new modes of transportation developed, refiners created new kinds of fuels — including
gasoline, diesel and jet fuel — to optimize the performance of different engines and configurations.
Inventors also used petroleum to develop lubricants and waxes that helped a range of manufactured
products function more efficiently.
In a refining system, crude petroleum is heated so that the compounds in it convert to gases. These
gases pass through a distillation column and become cooler as their height increases and are
eventually removed. This is how petroleum is refined.Jan 9, 2020
Purpose -petroleum products to propel vehicles, to heat buildings, and to produce electricity. In
the industrial sector, the petrochemical industry uses petroleum as a raw material (a feedstock) to
make products such as plastics, polyurethane, solvents, and hundreds of other intermediate and
end-user goods.
Petroleum refineries convert (refine) crude oil into petroleum products for use as fuels for
transportation, heating, paving roads, and generating electricity and as feedstocks for making
chemicals. Refining breaks crude oil down into its various components, which are then selectively
reconfigured into new products.
What is the impact of petroleum refinery?
Environmental hazards of petroleum refineries. Air pollution hazards: Petroleum refineries are a
major source of hazardous and toxic air pollutants such as BTEX compounds (benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and xylene).
Oil refineries are major polluters, consuming large amounts of energy and water, producing large
quantities of wastewaters, releasing hazardous gases into the atmosphere and generating solid
waste that are difficult both to treat and to dispose of
What is the environmental impact of petroleum gas?
Global warming pollution
When we burn oil, coal, and gas, we don't just meet our energy needs—we drive the current
global warming crisis as well. Fossil fuels produce large quantities of carbon dioxide when
burned. Carbon emissions trap heat in the atmosphere and lead to climate change.Jun 29, 2018
