I am interested in this position as a deputy sheriff for the County of Merced. I saw this position
opening on billboards and on social media, specifically Instagram. I’ve been interested in this
position for a few years now and I’m just able to apply for it.

When is comes to qualifications I’ve taken a public service class that was taught by an ex
employee of your agency, in that class we’ve learned basic of public service more specific in my
case law enforcement, some being ethics, difference between local, state and federal police,
criminal justice system, how a transparent agency can affect its community, basics of PC 830,
POST, some of the geography of Merced County radio codes, the phonetic alphabet and even
radio procedures.

I’m currently aware of the staffing situation of the sheriff’s office and understand how many you
