Task 7
There was unanimous agreement by the residents of the strasphey Community that the alcohol
abuse rate among youths is on the increase daily.
Figure (1) one the pie chart shows that there are a number of causes of alcohol abuse,25% stated
childhood trauma,20% stated family disagreements, while 40% stated relationship trauma and
the lowest being 15% stated unemployment.
the researchers think that the reason why the respondents selected relationship trauma as the
most major cause of alcohol abuse, is because persons have been in an abusive relationship due
to their spouse abusing alcohol on a daily. while the lowest results being unemployment of which
15% of the residents stated. We also think that the reason the respondent’s chose unemployment
as the lowest because they think that they are other major causes of alcohol abuse pertaining to
the given question. The second highest being childhood trauma of which 25% of the respondents
stated, we the researchers think that the reason why the residents chose childhood trauma as the
second highest was because of physical and mental abuse that was experienced in their childhood
which leads to them abusing alcohol. And the second lowest being family disagreement of which
is 20%. we think that they chose this as the lowest also is because it doesn’t relate to the
question.
In figure (2) two the Bar Graph shows that 20% stated aggression, another 20% stated violence,
50% stated liver disease, and 10% stated homelessness.
The respondents think liver disease is the highest effect, because the major health problem
among persons who abuse alcohol is liver disease. while the lowest being homelessness of which
10% of the respondents stated. We also think that the reason they chose this is because the
residents think that most person who abuse alcohol are not homeless. There was an equal number
of 40% in aggression for the second highest, and violence as the second lowest. The respondents
think so because both of them were relatable.
Figure (3) three the histogram shows 60% of the residents stated counseling, 20%, stated that
they were other options. 10% stated that open bible study and 10% stated that welfare.
the researchers think that the reason the residents chose this as the best solution, because after
when counselling is being done to the persons who abuse alcohol, they have seen an
improvement in their behavior, while they were an equal number of respondents of 10% that
stated welfare and open bible study are effects with that being the lowest results from the graph.
We the researchers think that the respondents chose this because these are the measures schools
would take to help reduce this social issue among youths. There was also an equal number of
40% in welfare, open bible study and other, We the researchers think they chose this because
they think the government can implement other measures to reduce alcohol abuse.
Task 8
Statement of Findings

According to the results and response from the survey, it was observed that alcohol abuse among
teenagers is very common and is rapidly increasing in the Strasphey community. Based on this
research, the researcher observed the following:
 The BEST solutions to this social issue are counselling and open bible study.
 Having relationship traumas and childhood trauma results in the high level of alcohol
abuse. This was indicated by 95% of residents
 It was also found that youths consider having liver diseases because of discrimination.
Recommendations And Implementation Strategies

In order to decrease the level of abortion the following can be implemented:

 The village should have an active youth group which offers free counseling and
interaction
 Schools should educate students at an early age about the effects and consequences of
alcohol abuse
 Parents and guardant should be more involved in knowing where their child/children are
and what their child/children are doing.

The researcher would like to recommend that the village should have an active youth group with
free counseling and interaction. This strategy will be implemented by the youth group of The
Peoples Assemble of God as well as the researcher herself. There will also be older persons
involved in this youth group to advice youths who have suffered from the social issue alcohol
abuse. Also, this youth group will be very interactive where persons can share their experiences
to others, so that they will be aware of the effects, causes etc.
