All about me
Hello my name is Coach Martin and I have the privilege of being your child's elementary
PE teacher. I graduated from TAMUC in December 2023. Physical education is a
passion of mine, I love being active and participating in sport rec opportunities with my
friends and family. In this class your child will learn valuable skills that they will use and
apply throughout their lifetime! I look forward to having a great school year with your
child in my class!

Classroom procedures
The purpose of classroom procedures is to ensure a safe fun learning environment for
my students. These procedures are discussed and practiced with my students in depth

on day 1 of class. I expect all students and classes to follow along with these
procedures.

1. How to enter and leave the classroom/gymnasium.

2. Equipment cleanup procedure.

3. Time-out signal.

Grading
Students will be graded on a 4 point scale. This grade
is a reflection of your child's progress, effort, and
participation in my class. If your child has an excused
absence please email me and notify the school of their
reason for absence, as participation is a requirement
for their grade and there are no make-up assignment
opportunities for unexcused absences. If your child
receives below a 2, an email will be sent to discuss
their performance in my class.

● 0-No evidence of any understanding

Makeup assignments
Make up assignments for excused absences will be completed outside of school and
require the student performing thirty minutes of physical activity. The type of physical
activity will be determined by the students. Some examples include: walking, running,
sport participation (competitive or recreational). 30 minutes of play outside, Inside, or

on a playground does not meet the requirements of the make-up assignment. Students
will need to take home their activity journal and complete a 6 sentence reflection of their
physical activity. Parent-guardian signature will be required at the bottom of the journal
submission.

Materials Needed
1. Students need a journal and pencil for PE class, these materials will be kept in
my class. We will use these materials to reflect on activity and skill progress
throughout the school year.

● Monthly updates will be sent out to parents about their child's progress in my
class. These updates will either be via email or phone call.
● If you have questions or concerns about your child's progress or behavior in my
class, please feel free to contact me via email. From there I will be able to set up
a phone call or parent teacher conference with you, if needed.
● If your child’s score below a 2 in my class, an email will be sent to discuss your
child's performance in my class.
