The operating and monitoring system OM 650 should be used only by quali-
fied personnel familiar with the process technology and safety cencepts of
process control.
The OM 650 is exclusively for the operating and monitoring of process con-
trol equipment for power plants, waste incineration plants and refineries.
The user manual should be followed at all times.

Qualified Personnel

Improper use of the system or failure to observe the instructions in this manual could result in personal
injury or damage to property. Only qualified personnel may use the OM 650 to operate process control
equipment.

“Qualified personnel” is defined as persons who are:

❏ operating personnel experienced with the safety concepts of process control

❏ or authorized service personnel trained in process control, and familiar with the contents
of this manual
❏ or commissioning and maintenance personnel trained to repair such process control
equipment and authorized to commission systems according to safety standards.

keyboard Mouse and keyboard operations are normally symbolized as follows:

denotes mouse operation. The display element to be clicked on is displayed to the

left of or above the arrow.

denotes alphanumeric input via keyboard.

denotes operations via the keyboard. The key to be pressed (the ”return” key,
for example) is identified by a symbol.
