EMPATHIZE
- One of the most problems in our country is how to reduce the increasing rate of solid waste.
Natural waste that does not know how to reduce and steel that cannot be recycled or reused. The
problem that other countries encountered about the oversupply of natural resources that are cut
down and will not be used.

DEFINE
- As on how observed the problem, the use of bamboo wastage cuts and remain the use of steel
cans waste to make a natural fiber and steel fiber of the asphalt mixture. Use of alternative natural
fiber to reduce solid waste and prolong the life of an asphalt mixture with competitive strength
and properties.

IDEATE
- The researchers decided to apply the use of bamboo fibers with the fact of it can gain the ideal
strength of a fiber that can affect the improvement of an asphalt’s properties and cost. Some of its
properties are durability, flexural strength, and impact strength.

EXPERIMENTAL
- The researchers will experimentally use the natural bamboo fiber as an alternative for steel crown
cups fiber in asphalt mixture. The bamboo fiber will merge with steel cans fiber in asphalt
mixture. The researchers will observe if it has a compatibility cohesive between the steel fiber
and the natural fiber in asphalt mixture.

TEST
- The laboratory testing of Marshall Stability Test and Extraction will be conduct in asphalt mixture
to know the workability, stability and aesthetic of an asphalt using the Technological University
of the Philippines-Cavite Testing laboratory.
