Karachi

Karachi is the biggest city of Pakistan. Firstly Karachi was a small area of land

where poor people lived .This small area was found near a beach called Behra-e-

arab.Here was a bridge which helped Karachi's population increase .There was

Allah's respectful person Abdullah-shah-ghazi's tomb which today is also present in

Karachi.The bridge slowly tried to increase the population and Karachi changed

from being a small area of land into a city.In 1838 when Hindustani areas were ruled

by the Britishers ,the Britishers also started ruling Sindh and Karachi .The Britishers

made few buildings.At that time there was a high number of Hindu and Muslim

population.Karachi was also full of Christian’s and Persian's.The bridge helped

Karachi’s population increase ,and now Karachi is famous.

Quaid-e-azam was born in Karachi and was educated in Karachi ,and also

sleeping in their deathbed in Karachi.To enter the city there are two doors made.the

door which opened near the beach was called ‘Khara-dar' and the one which opened

near the river was called ‘Meetha-dar'.Years before this system got finished ,but is

still present in the old areas of Karachi.Quaid-e-azam house name was Wazir-

menshan and is still located in the area of Khara-dar'.Karachi was made the capital

of Pakistan.Pakistan’s resolution was no more than four and half lacks.Hindu's

population in Karachi went down and Muslim's started leading.Pakistan’s other city

people were visiting Karachi often and the population of Karachi was fully

raised.With the increase of population Karachi's happenings also started

increasing.Here tall building’s ,markets and work offices were made.In 1959 the

capital of Pakistan changed to Islamabad but Karachi's still stayed the same.Here

there were amazing workhouses and factory's. The streets were full of

buses,motorcycles,trucks and auto’s.Old travelers used cycles and

carriages.Karachi’s famous areas are Clifton,defence,gulestan-e-johar,layaray,o

rangy town,bu land ya town and more areas. Karachi is also known as the city of

lights. Nowadays Karachi is also known as ‘Mini Pakistan’.Karachi’s famous places

are Mazar-e-Quaid, and Mohatta palace.Pakistan has the fourth largest irrigation

system in the world (Indus Basin). World's second largest salt mines (Khewra Mines)

are located in Pakistan. The world's famous pink Himalayan salt is also mined in

Pakistan. The highest polo ground in the world is in Shandur Pakistan.

Nihari is Pakistan's national dish and a favorite of people from all walks of life.

It originated from the Urdu-speaking community, which brought the food to the

Indian subcontinent. Some famous Karachi festivals are Ramadan,Chand

Raat,Eid,Milad un Nabi and Ashura.The languages spoken in Karachi are Sindhi,

Punjabi, Pashto, Gujrati, Balochi, Makrani, Serayki and Bangali.The old name of

Karachi is ‘Kolachi'.Clifton is one of the biggest yet oldest settlements in Karachi.

There is no doubt in believing that it is the poshest and classiest area in all of Karachi.
