6. QUALIFICATIONS
In accordance with Article 4: Qualification of Contestant of the WT Competition Rules, the contestant must
be:

Criterion #1 Holder of nationality of the participating team


Criterion #2 Holder of an approved WT Global Athlete License(GAL)
Criterion #3 Holder of the Kukkiwon Poom Certificate for Cadet athletes
Criterion #4 Athlete aged between 12-14 (2010-2012) for Cadet division
* The age limit for all division is based on the year, not on the date, when the Grand Slam Youth
League is held. In this regard, as the 2024 World Taekwondo Grand Slam Youth League is held
on August 16-18, 2024, only contestants born in between January 1, 2010 and December 31,
2012 are eligible to participate.

8. COMPETITION RULES & METHODS


A. KYORUGI
i. WT Competition Rules & Interpretation as of September 1, 2023 shall be applied
ii. Single elimination system
iii. Best of Three(3) System
iv. Height division, and in case of height changes from the point of registration, WT will re-align
athletes into divisions based on the height measurement during the general weigh-in
v. Power Deduction System
A. The “Power Bar” will be applied
B. Each round, when the “Power” reaches zero(0), the opponent shall be declared as the
winner of the round
C. In case neither athletes’ power bars reach zero(0), the athlete with higher power bar
shall be declared as the winner of the round

D. The power bar is set to 200 per round, and 1 point is equivalent to 5 power bar units
E. 200 power bar is equivalent to 40 points
vi. Duration of Contest
Cadet Division : 1 minutes 30 seconds x 3(2) rounds with 1 minute break between rounds
vii. Number of athletes: Open to all, no limit on number of athletes

B. POOMSAE
i. WT Poomsae Competition Rules & Interpretation as of May 14, 2019 shall be applied
ii. Cut-off system up to Semi-Final round and Single Elimination for Final round
iii. Preliminary round shall be formed in case 20 or more contestants are participating, the top
half of groups will advance to Semi-Final
iv. Semi-Final shall be formed in case of 9 to 19 contestants are participating, the top 8 will
advance to Final

9. WT GLOBAL LICENCE & ONLINE REGISTRATION


i. WT Global Licence Registration
All athletes and team officials must FIRST be registered with a WT Global Athlete Licence (GAL) or
Global Official Licence (GOL).

ii. WT Online Registration


Entry will only be accepted through the WT online registration system and registration is only
possible with a valid WT Global Licence.

10. ENTRY FEES


The entry fees from the participating athletes are collected onsite with US Dollar only. Local teams and
athletes will make payment via Online registration system. Athletes shall not be allowed to compete without
successful payment of entry fee.

Note: Additional athlete will not be accepted at the registration center, only athletes who are
registered online shall be the ones competing after the payment made at the registration center.

REGULAR ENTRY FEES: Athletes completing their registration during this period will be charged the regular
registration fee.
• US $80 per athlete for Kyorugi Discipline
• US $80 per athlete for Poomsae Discipline
• US $160 per athlete for both Kyorugi and Poomsae discipline
• Athletes are allowed to select / compete in both Kyorugi and Poomsae
• Registration will begin on April 10th, 01:00, KST.
• Registration will end on July 31st,18:00, KST.

11. CLASSIFICATION OF RESULTS


Medals will be awarded to the top four athletes in the respective weight category of the pertinent
competition:
1st PLACE: GOLD MEDAL & CERTIFICATE
2nd PLACE: SILVER MEDAL & CERTIFICATE

12. WT-RECOGNIZED TAEKWONDO DOBOK AND PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT


A. KYORUGI
i. Protector and Scoring System (PSS) including PSS Headgear will be used for the competition and it
will be provided by the Organizing Committee.
ii. Participating contestants are required to wear WT-recognized Kyorugi Competition Uniform or
Wuxi 2024 World Taekwondo Grand Slam Youth League

Kyorugi Dobok and WT-recognized protective equipment. The latest version of WT-recognized
manufacturers’ list is available at the website of WT
(http://www.worldtaekwondo.org/wtpartners-wt/recognize.html).
iii. The Organizing Committee will provide Protector and Scoring System (PSS) to the participating
contestants. Participating contestants are required to bring their own groin guards, mouthguard,
gloves, sensing socks and shin and forearm guards for their personal use.
iv. Before entering the field of play, all contestants will proceed to the inspection desk for inspection
of their competition uniform and protective equipment. Any contestant who wears unofficial
Kyorugi Competition Uniform or Kyorugi dobok or protective equipment will not be permitted to
compete.
v. The top has to cover completely the buttocks. However, the bottom of top should be more than
15cm above the knee cap

B. POOMSAE
i. Participating contestants must wear the WT-recognized Poomsae Competition Uniform. Any
contestants who do not wear WT-recognized Poomsae Competition Uniform will not be
permitted to compete. The latest version of WT-recognized manufacturers’ list is available at
the website of WT(http://www.worldtaekwondo.org/wtpartners-wt/recognize.html)

ii. Standardization of Poomsae Competition Uniforms : The mandatory Poomsae Competition


Uniform for competitors in Cadet Division is as follows:

Cadet Division(Ages 12-14) : White top with red and black collar, and blue pants for male
White top with red and black collar, and red pants for female

13. IDENTIFICATION OF MANUFACTURER


i. KYORUGI
⚫ Manufacturer’s identifications (name, designation trademark, logo or any distinctive sign of
the manufacturer) shall be located one for the top of Kyorugi dobok within 30𝑐𝑚2 and
between 3 to 3.5cm below the shoulder line of the left arm, one for bottoms of Kyorugi dobok
or within 30𝑐𝑚2 located above the knee and center of the right leg, and one for Kyorugi belt
within 6𝑐𝑚2 at the end of the belt.

ii. POOMSAE
⚫ The number of manufacturers’ identification (name, designation trademark, logo or any
distinctive sign of the manufacturer) shall be one(1) per garment within 20cm²except at the
location of the WT logo according to the related WT guidelines in force as of this event.
⚫ The end of the belt must be at least 10cm or higher above the knee.

14. SPONSOR’S IDENTIFICATION


i. ONE sponsor’s identification(logo) is allowed to each of Kyorugi dobok’s top and bottoms.

ii. The sponsor’s identification shall be located within 50𝑐𝑚2 except the location of WT logo,
manufacturer’s identification, national flag, and NOC code.

15. MEDICAL CONTROL


i. The WT Anti-Doping Rules, and where necessary the Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency, shall
apply throughout the competitions.
ii. Compulsory anti-doping tests will be carried out for selected medalists, while random tests will be
conducted to the rest of the athletes. The WT and/or WADA may carry out random out-of-
competition testing prior to the championships.
iii. TUE (Therapeutic Use Exemption)
Athletes who take any substance or medicine listed in the “Prohibited List” of the WT Anti-Doping
Rules and Anti-Doping Code of World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for therapeutic purposes are
requested to submit TUE applications via ADAMS, together with the required medical information.
If you do not have an ADAMS account yet, please contact tue@ita.sport to have it set up.

Otherwise, please download the TUE Application Form and once duly completed and signed, send
it together with the required medical file to tue@ita.sport with copy to
antidoping@worldtaekwondo.org. by at least 30 days before the first competition day.

16. HEAD OF TEAM MEETING & DRAWING OF LOTS SESSION


i. The head of team meeting shall be conducted one (1) days prior to the start of the competition that
is August 15th, in the presence of the WT officials and the representatives of the participating
teams.
ii. At least one representative from each team must attend the head of team meeting. In case of no
representative can be at the meeting, the team must designate a proxy and inform Technical
Delegate or WT Sport & Event Management department before the meeting.

17. WEIGH-IN
i. General weigh-in of the contestants shall take place on the day before their respective weight
category.
ii. During the weigh-in, male contestants shall wear underpants and female contestants shall wear
underpants and brassieres.
iii. Athletes must be weighed with underwear(s) and 100 grams will be allowed to compensate.
iv. There is no random weigh-in for Grand Slam Youth League.

18. INDEMNITIES
i. The respective national taekwondo associations shall be responsible for ensuring that all officials
and participants are covered with effective travel & medical insurance coverage.
ii. Participants without proper insurance coverage will not be allowed to compete at the competition.
iii. The Organizing Committee will acquire general Public Liability event insurance.

19. ACCOMMODATION & TRANSPORTATION

Information on the official hotels will be provided by the Organizing Committee shortly.

Each team is responsible for cost related to the accommodation, food, and transportation.

Organizing Committee has designated hotel for participating teams, and the hotel information will be
provided via email from the Organizing Committee, and will be provided on GMS.

Participating teams are required to submit the hotel reservation to the assigned email of the Organizing
Committee by no later than August 2nd, 2024.

Daily shuttle bus between designated/official hotel and venue will be provided by the Organizing Committee.

Transportation from/to airport/railway station and hotel will be provided for participating teams, and the
estimates will be shared through email.

Participating teams must submit necessary information, such as date, time of arrival, flight information, and
so on to the Organizing Committee by no later than August 10th, 2024.

20. VISA INFORMATION

The Organizing Committee can provide Visa invitation letter for participating teams.

However, each participants and MNAs are required to check the China entry Visa application in their
countries and submit requests for recommendation/invitation letters to the Organizing Committee.

The Organizing Committee cannot guarantee entry into China and can only offer assistance. It is the
responsibility of each athlete and MNA to apply for and secure the correct entry visa for China. MNAs are
requested to complete the attached Visa application form at least one(1) week before the deadline for
submission.

Request for Visa invitation letter shall be addressed to the Organizing Committee at
gm_office@jijinsports.com for the assistance.

21. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS


WT will appoint one(1) Technical and two(2) Competition Supervisory Board members.

The Organizing Committee shall cover the expenses for five (5) nights’ room and board for Technical
Delegate and Competition Supervisory Board members.

The Organizing Committee shall cover the per diem for Technical Delegate and Competition Supervisory
Board members in accordance with the WT Finance Rules

WT will appoint International Referees.

The Organizing Committee shall cover the expenses for five (5) nights’ room and board for International
Referees.

WT Finance Rules.

22. COACH’s REQUIREMENTS


All coaches are required to hold WT Coach Certificate Level I (1). Coaches who do not hold Level I coach
certificate will be deleted from the registration and not allowed to coach at the Championships

All coaches are required to wear formal suit such as tie, jacket, dress shirt (long or short), and trousers,

and sport shoes during Semi-Finals and Finals. Any type of cap/hat is not allowed. If any coach refuses to
wear abovementioned attire, he or she will not be allowed to coach for the event.

23. TEAM DOCTOR’S MEETING


In order to receive accreditation card, all registered team doctors or physicians must attend team
doctor’s meeting on August 15th.
