I will show the students cards made of construction paper with the verbs live. love,
prefer, and play. Additional I will show and explain the contents of the posters on
gerunds and infinitives (3 minutes).
5. Main teaching input:
First, I will explain the objective of the class. Immediately, to start teaching the topic, I
will show the cards with the verbs and I will paste the graph on the board. Then, for the
students to identify the pronunciation and meaning, I will show and ask them to repeat
their pronunciation after me (each verb card will be glued to one side of the board) (3
minutes).
Later, I will paste the posters about gerunds and infinitives on the board so that the
students associate the use of the previous verbs (4 minutes).
Then, I will explain to the students the differences between gerunds and infinitives
using each verb in the present simple. I will explain by writing on the board with simple
sentences the gerunds with (Ing) infinitives before the verb (To) (5 minutes).
Next, I will ask the students how they identify a gerund from an infinitive. I will receive
many of your examples and write them on the board (5 minutes).
Later, I will apply as a game to identify the errors in the sentences, allowing the students
to participate identifying if it corresponds gerund or infinitive and correcting, and
pronouncing the sentences correctly (5 minutes).

6. Guided practice:
In pairs, I will ask them in their notebooks to make 10 sample sentences using the verbs
taught above. Also, that they paint the gerunds and infinitives. After that, they will have
to orally practice all the sentences that the students wrote first infinitives then gerunds
changing roles. Finally, students will have to work on their books on page 12. Progress
will be monitored (5 minutes).
7. Independent practice:
In the same class, I will ask them to work in groups of their choice practicing the
conversation on page 12 (the lesson will be taken later) (5 minutes).
As homework, students will have to memorize the conversation on page 12.
