ABSTRACT
The invention of the fixed telephones in the late 19th Century in the World Changed the way that people
interacted and communicated. This has been paralleled in the 21st Century by the advent of mobile phone. The
mobile phone has originally created for adults for business use. Telephone Engineers has explained that the
telephone was made for the business world and not for the social conversation. Nowadays mobile phones have
become status symbol for students. However there is a these technologies capture attention and have usability
and the easiness of everyday life. The primary dimension distinguishes studies of the determinants of mobile
adoption from those that assess the impacts of mobile use, and from those focused on the impact mobile
technologies on “ANDRIOD PHONES USAGE BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE”.

The prime objective to the study was to understand the variation in the importance given by different age
and gender group. The study concludes that the mobile hand set users of age group of 18-30 years are less price
sensitive than consumers of other groups, rather they consider 'physical appearance brand value added features ,
and core technical features more important than users to any other age groups. On the contrary the consumers of
age group 50 years and above have given greater importance to 'price than consumers of other age groups. There
were significant differences between different age groups as regards to the importance given to all the factors
except post - purchase services. The difference was highest for the 'brand closely followed by 'core technical
features of the handset. Gender differences have also existed for these factors Mobile phone use has grown
dramatically throughout the world. While researchers have explored various facets of use and perceptions across
age groups, genders and segmentation by utility attention in academic research. Further understanding, how
antecedent of attitudes differ by utility-based consumer segments has been under explored.

This research helps to fill these gaps by presenting a holistic view of mobile phone user preferences and
perceptions among university students by applying methodologies from the marketing and information systems
domains.

Content analysis provides insights into how students value various mobile phone applications and tools.
Cluster analysis extracts salient and homogenous consumer segments from the content analysis output.
Structural equation model, then explores how antecedents to attitude may differ by the elicited consumer
segments found through the cluster analysis. Implications of this work for theory and practice are presented.

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
India is the world's 12th largest consumer market. It is projected that by 2025, it will be ahead of
Germany and will become the fifth largest economy of the world. There is an explosive growth in almost all the
areas of consumer goods and services. Communication that accounts for 2 percent of consumer's spending today
will be one of the fastest expanding categories with growth of about 13 percent. Mobile telecommunication
industry has shown tremendous growth over the last few years and at present there are about twenty crore (1
crore = 10 million) subscribers of the mobile phone usage in the country.

The market for the mobile is also growing with the growing demand for mobile services. This demand
will continue to grow in future also. India at present is the second largest market for mobile handsets. The
growth in this sector has been improved due to liberalization of telecommunication laws and policies. The
consumers of both rural and urban areas, from college - going students to mature elders, of almost all income
groups have started using mobile telecom services. The growth is fastest in mobile services as compared to fixed
lines where it is modest. some or the consumers particular different peoples going to buy their mobiles by the
different brands from the mobile seller’s in market by different age groups 10-60 years are buying of products
like mobile handset and automobile. This is so because large majority of such people are not economically
independent till the age of 17-24years.

Therefore, they have to satisfy themselves with what their parents buy for them. But now-a-days, these
people have become more able to influence their parents in buying the products of their choice. This is probably
due to small family size of one or two children these days, where parents comply more with the requests of their
children as compared to the past.

CHAPTER 2
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Ayyaluru is a village in nandyal mandal in nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh state, India. It belongs to
Rayalaseema region. ayyaluru pincode 518502 and postal head office in Noonepalle, ayyaluru local language is
Telugu. Ayyaluru village total population is 9340 and no of houses are 2190. According to our survey, the
availability of smartphones in AYYALURU was 36.5%in 2018, which increased to 67.8% in 2022.And at least
27.9% households in AYYALURU bought a new smart phone for their children education. Access to
smartphone became important for education after the covid-19 pandemic hit in India in the year 2020 and forced
schooling reading materials over smartphones of the 67.6% of the surveyed children with a smartphone at home,
27% said they had complete access to the device,47% said they got access and 26.1% said they had no access to
the device.
As per study conducted on cell device usage in this ayyaluru village found that 57% of cell phone users
uses their phones mostly for social purposes and around 50 % users carry their phones with them all the time
(Wireless Phone Reliance Grows). Online banking and payments become popular in the villages due to the
availability of smartphones. This has greatly eased the process of transactions for the rural. Companies like
Paytm, Phone Pe, Google Pay, BHIM app and UPI (unified payment interface) launched by the Government
Also had vital impacts on digitalization of financial transactions for villagers. Rural workers are now able to get
their salaries deposited immediately into their bank accounts and can transfer money to their families through
online transfers, saving them the time and effort of travelling to cities to access banking facilities. Villagers can
even pay their phone and electricity bills directly through options being made available online. Some of the
people had rise to fame by the social media. Quite a few of them have even carved a niche for themselves in the
entertainment world owing to their popularity on particular applications namely Instagram, Snapchat, In
addition to developing a celebrity status by attracting plenty of likes and views, social media is also viewed as a
medium through which one can earn money.
Farmers were using this smartphone like a n assistant for the farming by the basis of YouTube. Farmers
access to a variety of information about agricultural practices, namely sowing of seeds, crop protection,
improving soil fertility etc. which assist them in improving their produce. Information on occurrence of rainfall
and other weather-related destructions help in organizing better storage facilities. Smartphones also benefit the
farmers by better information and contact with local markets and securing more desirable prices for their
products. The information and communication technology in agriculture (ICT) as well as the Mobile Harvest
applications are approaches created to guide farmers to develop their agricultural aptitude by providing them
with tips and instructions. And also there had a one disappoint some of the children's were addicted to the
smartphones. They were addicted to the mobile games and they were refusing to study.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
 The study has been carried out by interviewing 30 respondent based on convenience sampling during august
2014 to September 2014 with the help of a questionnaire in Delhi city.
 The cities were chosen for the reason that even though the mobile telecom services expanding across the
country.
 Very these are concentrates a sear areas the respondents who were using mono & nano sets were asked to
rate the select factors on a five point scale (1 for lowest consideration and 5 for highest consideration) that
they considered most while buying their latest mobile handsets. These factors were selected from the study
conducted by researchers.
 Five of the seven factors evolved through principal component analysis of the study were selected keeping in
view of their relevance to the mobile handsets.
 This is so because mobile phones technologically in India are perceived as recently innovative as laptops.
The sixth factor-'brand' was selected for the reason that it is being considered as the proxy for the quality
determination in the absence of any other intrinsic quality determinant in case of mobile handsets. India gives
very high value to brands in India.
 A brand is a to quality because the quality of their unbranded products varies widely Johansson. 1997).
 The prime objective of the study was to understand the variation in the importance of the factors given by
different age and gender groups. Among the 30 consumers, 15 were male and 15 were female. These were
further classified into three groups based on their ace. These three groups were 5-16. 18-30 wears. 30-50
wears and 50 wears and above. There were 10 respondents (5 male and § female) of 18-30 years age group,
10 (5 male and 5 female) of 30-50 years group, and 10 (5 male and 5 female) of 50 wears and above age
group. Two-way ANOVA has been applied for the data analysis & conclusions. The approach was chosen to
understand both main independent impacts as well as interaction effects of variables - age and gender. The
respondents were asked to rate the following factors: 'Brand', 'Physical Appearance' (weight, size, colour and
design), 'Price', 'Value Added Features' (messaging, music, games, videos, photos etc),'Core Technical
Features' (GPRS, Bluetooth, memory etc), and 'Post-Purchase Services' warranties, maintenance and repairs,
technical support etc.

OUTCOMES & CONCLUSION
This study suggests that most of the study participants are aware about mobile phone/ Radiation hazards
and many of them developed dependent behavior with smartphone. No significant changes were found on
mobile phone dependency behavior between participants Having accommodation in house and hostel. One-
fourth of the study population is having a feeling of wrist and hand because of smartphone usage which may
lead to further physiological and physiological complications.

The study results suggest that a significant number of the participants had addiction to Mobile phone
usage, but were not aware on it, as mobile phones have become an integral part of life. No significant
differences were found on addiction behavior between the participants residing in homes. Mobile phone abuse is
rising as an important issue among the world population including physical problems such as eye problems,
muscular pain, and psychological problem such as tactile and auditory delusions. Along with mobile phone,
availability of Wi-Fi facility in residence place and work premises also increases mobile phone dependence. The
continuous and constant usage of mobile phone reduces intellectual capabilities and work efficacy Regarding
the gender differences on use of mobile phone for internet use, for internet surfing, making call, and SMS and
all these three, gender differences were not found. Overall it was found that desire to get connected is very
important factor in mobile phone usage which was reflected in preference for social networking sights.

Also use of mobile is more at night as compared to morning. Addiction to Smartphone is major impact
on social life. Surveys show that Smartphone addiction is interfering with our night‘s sleep. According to the
survey, 33% of mobile workers admitted that they check their phones for email and message throughout the
night. Nearly 50% of those surveyed said, they wouldn‘t even think of going to bed without have their
Smartphone‘s tucked under their pillows. This addiction to Smartphone is impacting the social and family life
and creating frictions in our lives. Another aspect is that applications installed on Smartphone enabling image
and video editing, allowing individuals to manipulate the actual content and provide their version of the content.

It is true that Smartphone has a sizeable impact on society and other aspects of life. Clearly the
enormous usage of these devices by consumers demonstrates the volume of this impact. Consumers are in
process of traversing away from the use of conventional cell phone as the Smartphone‘s are beginning the norm
of the society. Manufacturers and marketing can be blamed for this hype, but there is no doubt that
Smartphone‘s are brining great features and capabilities to consumers.

This will enable users to use their phones if it is really required and when the use is really important. In
summary, Smartphone can certainly be smart if the vendors, society and technologists understand their

responsibility towards usage of these devices smartly in order to get more benefit in business, education, health
and social life. It is apparent from above facts that the benefits of Smartphone are tremendous and negative
impacts are minor. So it is important to concentrate on how to stop and avoid smartly the misuse of Smartphone
rather trying to stop or avoid use to Smartphone‘s.
