POVERTY

INTRODUCTION

The definition of poverty is really matters. Poverty issues has been giving impact on the people who are
bearing with living condition that does not best the minimum level of standard or acceptable condition
measurement. Moreover, the incidence of the poverty at individual and community level has increased
despite of technology advancement in the modern society and its pronounced deprivation in well-
being and comprises many dimension.

Poverty is including low income and the quality to acquire the needs and service necessary for the
survival with dignity. The municipality of Laua- an has the areas that facing the poverty, but the DILG and
LGU’s gave their efforts an preventing deprivation and help the community to empower and gain a good
condition that every family needs but it is still in processing

Furthermore, the poverty has various manifestations, including lack of income and productive resources
sufficient to ensure sustainable livelihoods, hunger and, malnutrition and etc. it is states of a person that
living in the community that lacks of everything and cannot provide the human needs.

METHODS

The chapter concentrates on the discussions of the research about the poverty and procedures adhered
to by the researcher in order to order to answer systematically the specific posed for investigation.
Specifically, the research method, population and samples, research instrument, data gathering and
statistical treatment of the data used for accurate data analysis and interpretation were explained in this
chapter.

This study used Qualitative method of research. It utilized the interview using survey form for the
respondents to gather that needed data for the study. Qualitative research was used to observe the
problems and needs of the community and how to assist it, and analyzed the gather data using
statistical analysis. The study identified the effectiveness of knowing the poverty issues of the
community and the needs on how to response to it, and this performance is coming from the selected
person.

Population by age group

The age group with the greatest population in Laua-an, according to the 2015 Census, is 10 to 14, with
2,887 people. The age group with the lowest population is 75 to 79, with 374 people.
