How is Grade Aggregate calculated?

RESPONSE
Grade Aggregate is the sum total of numerical
grades obtained in the best eight (8) core subjects,
including English, French and Mathematics.
Admission to Grade 10 in an Academy is
determined on the basis of the Grade Aggregate
and relative performance of the eligible candidate
in the best eight core subjects, including English,
French and Mathematics and the choice of academy
of the Responsible Party.
Application for admission to an Academy should
have been filled prior to the assessment.
Candidates must achieve the following minimum
requirement –
Either
Numerical grade 6 in six core subjects including
English, French and Mathematics and at least
Intermediate Level in two non-core subjects
Or
Numerical grade 6 in seven core subjects including
English, French and Mathematics and at least
Intermediate Level in one non-core subject
Or
Numerical grade 6 in eight core subjects including
English, French and Mathematics
Request for review of scripts should be made at the
MES from 04 to 08 December 2023.
Fees for remarking: Rs 192 per subject.
Candidates will be informed of outcome of review
exercise before resumption of school.

Yes, a student may opt to stay in his Regional
College.
The seat in the Academy will then be declared
vacant.
NCE Result 01: Candidate has satisfied the NCE
award requirement of NQF Level 2
NCE Result 02: Candidate has not satisfied the
NCE award requirement of NQF Level 2
The Statement of Attainment is issued to
candidates who have not satisfied the NCE Award
requirement of NQF Level 2.
It contains level descriptors for Numerical Grade 7.
