The CAE Preparatory Course has been especially designed for people who want to sit the Cambridge C1

Advanced Exam (CAE) from Cambridge English Language Assessment. This course will extend your knowledge
of the English language and at the same time provide you with the strategies necessary to enable you to take
the CAE Exam. Please, read the following information carefully before applying to register. The course will be
delivered via ZOOM.

REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN BOOKS

THE COURSE
• You must hold one of the following certificates: • Books won’t be delivered if you live out of Peru. In
Cambridge English: B2 First (FCE) or IELTS band 6.5 or
above.
• If you don’t hold any of these certificates, you will be
requested to sit a placement test to confirm your
level of English. See “Registration” section for more
detailed information.
• Good internet speed: at least 16 M
• A PC or laptop with microphone, camera and
headphones or earphones. It is not recommended to
take the lessons using a mobile phone (cell phone).

COURSE CONTENT
The course will offer you guidance and exam training for
the 4 Cambridge C1 Advanced Exam (CAE) papers:
Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening and
Speaking.

 • Full involvement in the course.
WHAT IS • The course requires active participation and a lot more than just attending
EXPECTED sessions.
• You need to work hard both inside and outside the classroom.
FROM CAE • Do the homework assigned by the tutor.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are vital.
PARTICIPANTS • Participants are expected to stay in the same schedule with the same teacher
for the five cycles, so think about staying in the same schedule before making
your decision.
• All participants are expected to have regular attendance for each CAE cycle in
ATTENDANCE order to obtain a Final Mark based on their performance at the end of each
AND cycle.
• This means that students will be considered as FDA (Fail Due to Absences) and
EVALUATION the cycle will be considered as incomplete if they do not complete the minimum
of hours of attendance during the cycle (13), but will still be permitted to
continue studying in the next CAE cycle. If you obtain FDA, contact Call Centre
to register.
• Participants who fail two cycles (obtain grade D) will not be allowed to enroll on
the next cycle.
Certificates will be issued at the end of the course (CAE 5) to participants gaining an
CERTIFICATION overall passing grade (A, B or C) based on their performance and who have complied
with the minimum attendance for each of the 5 cycles. Students who fail the last
two cycles do not receive a certificate. Information about performance during the
course will be recorded on the certificate.

• Besides, you must send the scanned document + ID (or a clear photograph) to
admisionconcertificado@britanico.edu.pe
• If you do not have the certifications needed, you can sit a placement test, which
consists of two parts:
o An interview: If you have studied at BRITANICO in the past, you must go to
CAMPUS, click on "Venta Textos, Merch, Servicios" and then select: Centro:
"Online". Categoría: "Exámenes". Ítem de venta: "Examen" (click on the
magnifying glass), type "1" and tick the box to accept "Términos y
Condiciones". Finally, click on "Reservar". The cost of the first part of the
placement test (interview) is 20 soles.
o If you obtain a satisfactory result, you will be contacted to sit an online
written test. It is important to mention that the cost of the second part of
the placement test (written test) is 15 soles.
o Feedback on any of the exams is not provided. If results are not satisfactory,
the candidate must wait 6 months before retaking the exam.
o Taking part of the Placement process does not imply you can book a place.
o The whole placement procedure is taken online. The tests will not be
administered in our centres.
