CONCESSION GUIDE

GUIDELINES FOR CONCESSION ACCOMODATIONS (WHERE APPLICABLE)

This guideline document pertains to student who need special concessions due to specific physical,
emotional or psychological challenges.
Students should ensure that these concessions have been requested and granted well in advance of the
assessments taking place.

PROCESS
Cambrilearn determines concession requests for exams and mid-course tests based on evidential reports
submitted.

● An application should be accompanied by a report from a certified Educational Psychologist or

Medical Doctor, that outlines the challenges and specifies the accommodations. This report should
not be more than a year old.

● Levels Primary Stage 1 to Foundation Level 2

The concession requests will be granted based on the Medical Reports’ recommendations and remains the
invigilators responsibility to comply.
● IGCSE, AS or A Level
Cambrilearn would comply with the concessions granted by the external Exam Centre where the student
will be writing their final external exams.

● Ensure that the correct concessions are ticked on the exam cover sheet,

● Please submit the requests and reports to hello@cambrilearn.com before the assessments (exams
and mid-course tests) take place.

GUIDELINES FOR SCRIBES AND READERS

The guidelines and instructions for Scribes and Readers is taken from Cambridge Assessment International
Education, the custodians of Cambridge education methodology.

Process
When the Student is ready for the exams or mid-course tests, the concessions that have been granted
should take effect.

Please ensure that the forms with the names of the Scribes and Readers are completed and sent to
hello@cambrilearn.com before the exams.

On the day of the exams, ensure the details are completed under the relevant section on the cover page of your
paper.

It helps students if they know what a Scribe or Reader can and cannot do to support them during an exam.
Always tell them before the exam. If possible, give the student the opportunity to work with a Scribe /
Reader during a practice test. This will give them a good understanding of the support you can offer them in
the actual exam.
