I created this project when I was a third grade Description Number(s)
math and science teacher. Since then, I’ve taught
other grades and subjects (3 rd and 5 th grade
reading and writing), but this project remains one
of my favorites. The Energy Robot has had many Quick overview of project and lesson 3
improvements and revisions since it was originally
posted in 2014.

I hope your students love this project as an Example of finished project 4


introduction or review of forms of energy. Based
on feedback over the years, teachers have used
this project as a final assessment as well as a
quick review. Most educators take 1 -2 sessions
(lesson blocks) to complete the project, but be Forms of Energy review cards 5
sure to add time for students to share their
robot creations! Check out the next page for
more information about each component.

traced over
the pencil
lines with a
black flair
pen. I
colored in
the robot
with colored
pencils. Last,
I referenced
my planning

write about
